In general, I have always been very impressed with BMW dealerships around the country, but BMW of Austin has been dropping the ball many times with me... (and others I've seen) since I bought my car there so I think I need to say something at this point. Here are 4 examples of how BMW of Austin has been really failing my expectations for a BMW dealership: 1) I had a bad experience with one of their seat cleaning/protection services that I had purchased with my car. Long story short, the 3rd party service dirtied up my car really badly when treating my driver's seat and after a few attempts at BMW detailing the car, the manager told me that they'd send my car to the body shop to detail. He never contacted me back. Pretty much just forgot about me. I didn't contact them back either because at that point I was already fed up with the situation and ended up detailing the car myself. 2) I bought a part at the parts department there and one day they called me and said the part had arrived. I got there and they misplaced it! How do they do that? Trip during my lunch break wasted. At least they re-ordered it and shipped it to my house free of charge. 3) Scheduled my car to go in to get a software update. The scheduler told me over the phone that it would be 2 hour thing. I went in on Saturday morning at the scheduled time and the rep there told me it would take 2 days and I needed a loaner!! Because I had plans that specifically required that I have my car for that weekend, I had to reschedule. Again, another trip and morning wasted. Also, why in the world does it take 2 days to do a software update?! I'm a software engineer and I've never heard of anything like that anywhere! 4) While I was waiting for the rep during this last appointment that I just described, not only did I notice that they were slammed and overloaded (reps running around like crazy), I overheard another customer talking to one of the reps saying "you guys told me the car was ready and now that I'm here, you're telling me it's not." The customer was super patient but I'd be pissed if I were her. So, overall, it seems like BMW of Austin is seriously lacking in manpower and has many issues with miscommunication and simple attention to detail. Not at all what I'd expect from a BMW dealership. They really need to work on things.

Sales department is fantastic, if you are seeking someone whom will handle your business carefully and fairly - seek out Troy Massey. I would buy here... anytime and will return. The service department is another story however, avoid.
