Love my Town and Country Van, but DO NOT buy a warranty

Love my Town and Country Van, but DO NOT buy a warranty from this dealership. I bought a lifetime warranty from them when I bought my van in 2015. I specifically asked before buying the warranty if I would have to bring it to a dealership for the warranty work and was told that I could bring my van to any reputable car shop, not my brother fixes cars out of his garage type place, but a regular shop. I would not have bought it if work had to be done at the dealership and the guy selling me the warranty knew that. Jump forward and I'm stranded out of town with an engine that is overheating and limp into a car repair shop that I know does warranty work. They called the warranty company and was told I had to have my van repaired at a dealership! I called and was on the phone dealing with the warranty company for over 3 hours, only to find out the warranty salesperson lied to me. I had to have my van towed to a dealership and wait out of town for two additional days because the work had to be done at a dealership! When I got home I went into Northwest Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram and all I got was a "sorry he didn't tell you the truth when you bought it, but we can't be held responsible for what that individual did years ago." So they were good for the van purchasing, but DO NOT trust them for anything beyond that. The people I worked with were gone shortly after I purchased the van and now I'm on my own with no support from the dealership.

Consumer response

I did go into the dealership in person to see what could be done. Basically was told nothing could be done, but if I want to buy a new vehicle I would get a good deal. Not happy. Why would I buy a vehicle from a dealership where an employee lied to me and nothing is done to make it right.

I came to look at a 2022 Ram1500 and got a great deal 1.9% for 36 months. It was a no brainer for me because most banks offer higher interest rates. Omar Calderon made the sale very easy and fast. I would definitely purchase from them again.

Consumer response

Very easy to deal with here at Northwest Dodge. Thank you Omar Calderon for your help.

To say that there was a lack of full disclosure on the

To say that there was a lack of full disclosure on the used truck that we were working with them on is an understatement. We relied on their online description and pics of the truck as well as their assurance that it was represented accurately. We made a deal on the phone and drove 300 miles to close the purchase on the truck only to find out that the truck had issues that were not disclosed. Not only worked with Greg the salesman but his manager Ryan to make sure that it would be ready for pickup once we arrived only to find out that what they had told us was totally misleading. This is the kind of experience that gives car salesmen a bad reputation. Don't do business with these guys!!

Take your money and time elsewhere

Non transparent. Low level of respect for customers. Disrespectful salesmen John navarro. Save your time, money, and respect for other great dealers in this state.

Deceitful advertising

Advertising for home delivery. Salesman lied and blamed third party vendor for the information although it was a banner on photos they posted. Advised me I could get on a plane to pick it up. How about you honor what you put online ?

Up sell me for nothing, Baby

Went in for ABS module replacement, and to get the headlights working properly again. ABS module is really hard to get with chip shortages and supply chain issues So when my service "advisor" said he could get it fixed...I was on board! I get a text a few days later..."we will need to replace all of your light bulbs and then test so we can diagnose the issue with you headlights not staying on. Well, I text back, "When the old bulbs are found not to be at fault, and you discover another cause of the fault, will you refund my money for the bulbs and put the old ones back, and only charge me for the repair? This was marked down as "refused service".....WOW Next, I get the call my 2010 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon, is ready to pick up,.....BUT the battery is dead and I need to buy another....I ask why my battery is dead, and was told "it sat for 3 weeks" Well here is my issue with that. I have an Optima Yellow top battery. When I asked the Service "advisor" why would my battery drain? This piece of....nevermind, He tells me that batteries do that. Well sir, If there is a drain, I.E. it was left hooked up for 3 weeks, I "could see that as a legitimate issue." However, when electrical service of ANY kind is done to a vehicle, it is required by the manufacturer and ASE certification to disconnect the battery for the full duration of the service until ready for test. This "person" wanted me to buy a battery, light bulbs and Full headlight assemblies "they are dirty". I recharged my Optima Yellow Top battery and started my jeep without problem. Hmm did not need a battery................ Light issue is still there, and I will find a solution, but not with the dipxxxxs at this place. I hope you read this, I hope you get pissed, I hope you leave your job and go away from Houston. We do not need people with poor ethics, and low morals to help people to get what they need. The folks at your parent company need to look at you, fire you, and bring in actual customer service reps. I would love to drop F bombs and call you xxxx, but I know you are below me as a human and way below the average customers you service. I feel sorry for your boss. He has to see your xxxxxx name come up on all those reports. But, I will say this. You must be good at xxxxing old ladies and young kids out of money,. Otherwise you would not have a job.

Mel is my hero

I took my car in for service and dealt with Cristen at first she was very helpful but when I needed her to advocate for me with my warranty she refused. She told me she wasn't going to be arguing back in forth with them. She became really harsh and her attitude is horrible. I came in a Week later because the issue that Cristen refuses to help me fix that was under my warranty got worse because of something that was done in the diagnostic. I walked in and Mel was a breathe of fresh air she not only took ownership of the problem and she advocated for me. The warranty cover my issue . She refunded my diagnostic fee and got my co pay waived. I left completely happy and satisfied. Thank you Mel for your great customer service.
