Me and my wife bought a 2016 Grand Cherokee from here and by far the worst experience I have ever had. They pressure you into considering a lease, they... are very abrasive and do not negoitate well. We bought the vehicle at night so we did not see the bald tires they gave us. My wife brought up the vehicle to the GM , he said for the tires to be replaced they have to be below a 5? It was a 5.2 !!! this place is awful. We now have to purchase new tires for a new vehicle. My experience was so bad I purchased my Challenger from another dealership who also confirmed the tires should of been changed before being put on a lot. Reconsider buying/leasing from Dayton Andrews, I will never be back and will share my awful experience with everyone whos in the market for a new car to save them the heartache. Wish I could put 0 stars. No wonder they have a D rating with BBB. Makes sense. Just wish I knew before, buyer beware. You have been warned.
Special Thanks To Pam And Jim Wolf In Sales... Also Steve Shaw In The Body Shop For Doing Such A Great Job On My Grand Cherokee.... Done Right,, Thanks... Steve..
This is my 3rd purchase from Dayton Andrews in Clearwater. Randy Booth has worked with us personally on all of our purchases. He and the entire staff... are by far the best at what they do. It's like buying a car from family. They are professional, patient, and bend over backwards to get You in the deal you desire! From Sales to Service to Finance it is the best possible experience each and every time. Don't waste your time going anywhere else...go see Randy Booth and the entire staff at Dayton Andrews in Clearwater!
These folks are condescending jerks who are not interested in selling cars. See my yelp or google review for the full story bc this has a tight character... limit.
To begin with, I had only heard good things about this dealership. I am a Ford truck owner and have never owned a Dodge. I recently have been heavily considering... purchasing a Ram 3500 diesel. I found an online ad on multiple sites listing the truck for just under $35K. I also checked to see if the VIN matched to ensure accuracy (see photos). I proceeded to dealership and walked in. Not one salesman came to me so I had to go to the main desk and request one. An older gentleman that had been no more than ten feet away the whole time came up and smelled as if he smoked six packs a day. He walked me to his back hall office where he said "that can't be right". He immediately took a personal call on his cell phone and went to grab another salesman stating he had to run home. This gentleman pulled up the online ad and was cursing the entire time. He then left for a few minutes and came back and asked me to follow him. I followed him to the main floor into what I assume was the sales manger office and introduced to a woman that very quickly told me that it was an error and that they would not sell the truck for that price because they would be taking a loss. She finished by adding that they could sell me vehicle at a "great price". That was it. I was not shown around the lot, offered another option, etc. That was it. I have two sons and have raised that when they make a mistake they have to deal with whatever the consequences may be. In business it's the same. To not honor is to be fraudulent. To say that I'm disappointed is an understatement. I went to purchase a new vehicle I've never owned at a dealer I've never been to. Zero professionalism, zero courtesy, and zero customer service. Those are the pillars of sales. I will be telling as many people I can about my experience.
If I could give negative stars I would. Beware of Clearwater Service Department. My Jeep Grand Cherokee has been in the shop since May 2nd when I left... for my conference. The Dayton Andrews Clearwater Service Department failed to notify me that parts were on back up order until I physically went to the dealer on May 7th to pick up my rental. So let’s do the Math: May 2nd I confirm what Work can be done via my cell phone. I was informed my car was unsafe due to power steering issues and Informed the parts take up to 7 days. No one ever calls me back to inform me the parts are on back up order; May 7th informed when I show up to pick up a rental. Ignored my calls rest of the week when I was requesting updates. Now it’s May 11th, car rental is done and no one is returning my calls. Technically, per original quote, my car should be done by May 11, but the staff think by ignoring me I’ll just go away. After leaving multiple messages on the service advisor and manager line, the manager finally picks up and speaks to me on May 11th. Extremely rude, unprofessional and lacks customer service skills. States it’s not their responsibility to offer me a courtesy vehicle or pay for my rental because my extended warranty is not through them and could not provide an answer as to why I was not informed prior to me physically being at their dealer on May 7th. Why did it take so long? By the way, I reminded the service manager the car was bought there 5 1/2 years ago and for the past 5 1/2 years I have been only going there for anything my Jeep needs. However that means nothing to them. Then, tries to blame me for not having updated contact information in the system but can’t respond to the statement why was the Service Advisor contacting me before. So let’s try and find the customer at fault rather than try to even meet them half way. No apology for being negligent to inform me. No apology for not returning calls. No solution offered. May 11th, email sent to Service Director expressing my concerns for extreme negligence of staff communication and not providing me with answers or solutions. May 14th, 12 days later, solution provided is to put after market parts, no courtesy vehicle by Service advisor or even offer to pay for half the rental. Take it or leave it attitude towards me. So if the after market parts had been available this whole time why was that not offered sooner? No apology offered for unprofessional tone service manager used towards me and lack of informing the customer of the back up order. No answer as to why the time delay to offer solution occurred. Only response I received from the Director, was a response in regards to me requesting the part names. May 21st, no parts, no contact by dealer with any updates or even to check in. At this point, hoping since I involved corporate, some help is provided.
Jeff was terrific. He found the exact Jeep I wanted and kept me posted continuously as it took its journey to get here. Not once did I have to call him... and ask what was going on. Then Wanda was awesome in financing. Easy and fun actually. Thank you everyone you made this buying experience great. Oh and I love my new Jeep!!!
Extremely appalled that in the space of less than a week we have had to order a headlight bulb for one of our new Dodge Durango's. First occasion last... week when one went out we went to the dealership and was told that it was out of stock and that they would order it in for the next day! It came in the next day. Buyer beware, the bulb costs $18, but they charge you $34 for the bulb fitted, a four minute process. And then comes today when the other bulb blew. I got to the dealership, and waited 45 minutes before I was told, "we don't have the part in stock, but can walk across the road to to advance auto parts and get one. I explained what happened only a few days ago and WHY don't you order these and have them in stock??? Told good question!! After being at the dealership 64 minutes I finally got the bulb. Being a business that has purchased six brand new Dodge vehicles from "Dodge Winter Haven" I am extremely appalled at The dodge dealership in Clearwater.
I tried shopping around to get the best deals and I could not find any better price than Jeff Kasman's offer. Similar dealerships promised me lower prices... but they could not give me the courtesy that Randy Booth offered me nor the sincerity that I felt from Jeff. Being "personable" to me as a buyer made me buy from Dayton Andrews.
This was by far the easiest, no haggle experience ever. I knew what car I wanted, called to ask questions about it, stopped by and drove it home without... feeling that typical car buying pressure. Pleasant group of people here, highly recommend stopping by. My superb experience included, Jeff and Todd,...both very knowledgeable about the cars they sell and very professional. Guy in the finance department sealed the deal with an excellent financing option. Doesnt get any easier than this folks!! Call Jeff , Todd or Guy, they'll make it happen.
