    Eddie Saucedo was the sales consultant I dealt with during my visit to purchase a 2011 Dodge Durango. He was very knowledgeable of the vehicle, and showed me every feature. I was given exactally the ammount I wanted for my trade, and was given the discounted internet price. I arrived pre qualified for a loan with a very low interest rate, and they were able to get me an even lower one. Outstaning group of men and women at this dealership!!!

    Let me start out by saying I know I am not the ideal customer a car salesman is looking for. Far from it actually. My credit isn’t great, I have a small down payment, and have a small budget to work with. That being said I still deserve decent customer service and respect. I am looking to buy a newer reliable car and am very aware of my limited choices. I went in to Advantage Chevrolet in Hodkins prequalified for a car loan and looking for a specific car that unfortunately had already been sold. The young salesman was pleasant enough and asked if he could find me something in my budget if I would take a look at it. I showed him my prequalified letter and was bluntly honest with him. I gave him the amount of my deposit, the price range for my payment and said this is where I need to be. I happened to have my ex husband with me to take a look at the cars for me as I don’t know much about cars. The salesman brought out a car he thought would fit and we took it for a test drive and had some small talk. After asking how long we had been married and we stated we were divorced, he asked why we were divorced. A little disconcerting but we laughed it off to inexperience and never answered his question. When we got back to the show room, he asked my ex if the car would only be in his name, again a little concerning because he had seen the prequalified letter that had my name on it, but again chalked it up to inexperience and we stated it would be in my name only. He then goes to run the numbers, presumably with the company I was prequalified with. He comes back with a payment $103 more than what I said I could afford. He asks if they hold the car for me if I could get together another $1000-2000 for a deposit. Absolutely not. What if they take the payment down by $50 then its ONLY $53 more than what I was expecting. I tried to give him a little perspective and told him I understand that for him maybe he just doesn’t go out Friday night to save $53 but for me that’s 50% of my grocery budget to feed my kids. I left disappointed that I didn’t find a car for myself but perfectly happy with the service, even with the odd questions and slightly condescending manner. He was on the young side and everyone needs to learn appropriate small talk, he just needs more experience. I was happy until I checked my email the next day. I got an email that there had been a change to my credit report. I expected that because they ran my credit so an inquiry would be reported. Then I received another and another and another, actually a total of 6 more inquiries. I was shocked to say the least. When I pulled up my credit report it showed 6 other banks that the dealership had run my credit through! Without my permission! I made it very clear that I would be going through with my prequalified loan, showed it to him, repeated myself, said I would live with the higher percentage rate, he held it in his hands! My credit score was changed by 86 points in a half hour. I worked for 18 months to raise my credit score to the level it was at from having no credit. They ruined 18 months of work in 30 minutes. Please let me be clear that the issue is not that I did not walk out without a car! This issue is that they had no permission to run my credit through any other bank besides the one I was preapproved! I call and spoke to Gail and Dan. I have to compliment them on how professional and courteous they were. I then spoke to the sales manager John. Honestly I wish I hadn’t. I felt blown off and his apology was insincere. He told me their job was to get me a car I could afford. Well guess what, with a ruined credit score I cant afford any car. he told me there was clearly a miscommunication. How?? The salesman help my letter in his hands, I repeated myself, I said I would live with the little bit higher percentage. When I told him that I left satisfied with my service and would have recommended them and that now I would never reco

    I drove overnight from Kansas City, MO to Advantage Chevrolet to purchase a 2002 Monte Carlo SS Intimidator signature series car with only 16,000 miles. It was bad enough to drive overnight to get there and then sit for hours on end to do a car deal that really should have taken 2 hours max. Once the numbers and paperwork got done it was already after 1:00 in the afternoon keep in mind we got there before 9:00 am. We started to leave with our car all to realize the headliner in the vehicle had a bunch of cigarette burns in it. They advertised this as a like new car because of the miles.. and while the low miles were great. The condition of the car once we got it home was a little disappointing. John Mack who is the used car manager i believe assured my husband and I he would assist with getting the headliner repaired or fixed at a cost of $150.00. I took the car to the local auto trim location in KC, where they advised it couldn't be patched or fixed, but replaced. I called and emailed John several times all to hear crickets. I finally heard from him on 4-10-17 when he said the check was being cut and mailed. The $150.00 is only a portion of the cost as my husband and I are picking up the rest. Which i felt was fair. Here it is 4-28-17 and still nothing. I called and emailed him again... more crickets...... I called today to talk to the GM of the dealership to get the new car manager to talk to who acted like he could care less. He said he would get with John and have him call..... more crickets... As if this was not enough, these folks act like they sell cars to people all over the country. Our title work took two weeks to be sent to the state of Missouri for issuing all to be rejected which i had anticipated as in Missouri any car that is more than 5 years old has to have a Missouri Safety inspection submitted along with proof of paid personal property tax which Advantage did not have. I asked several times to have the paper work sent to me, but i kept being told it could not be sent to me it had to be sent to the state or division of the state. Well... that took a while also as it went to the wrong address (not sure if I had advised incorrect address or not) anyway... When i went to the MO Dept of Revenue to transfer my plates i was charged $25.00 because it was past 30 days allowed to get this paperwork done. Was that a happy moment.. If you purchase a new car you may be fine and not have all of this, but I strongly suggest unless they have THE car and they are the only one who have THE car you want. I would keep it moving down the road to another dealership. I know it may be a drive for anyone, but Don Vance Ford, Chrysler, Jeep, Dodge is the place to go for quick, friendly car buying with no hassle or hidden agenda.
