We ended up not buying a car through Sweeney, but not because of anything they did - we were looking for a pre-owned car in a brand they don’t generally... sell. They had one on the lot and Michael Meyer answered all my questions and was really helpful, but the timing didn’t work out on my part. We ended up buying a certified pre-owned from that brands dealer, but we will definitely keep Sweeney in mind for future car purchases!

I have worked in the car business for the past 9 years so I'm very critical when it comes to the car buying experience. I almost didn't buy... from them because I was apprehensive because of their review rating. However, the deal on the vehicle was worth trying Jake Sweeney out and I'm very happy with my experience with them. My sales person was Brent and he was a straight shooter, very thorough, and an excellent communicator; which is qualities you want in a sales person. The finance manager was DJ, he had the same great qualities as Brent, was not pushy about warranties, and got us in and out in a good amount of time. There is nothing worse than having the car buying experience soak up your whole day, and with them I was in and out under two hours. DJ also got me a fantastic rate on my SUV, my insurance company's APR quote was almost double what DJ got me. I would not hesitate to purchase another vehicle from Jake Sweeney. I got a great deal, had an awesome experience with the staff, they have strong financing available, and they are respectful of your time.

Ryan had the vehicle waiting for us when we arrived. He was more than knowledgeable about the vehicle that we were test driving. We didn't get the,... "I'll have to check on that" routine. Once we decided, the process was within reason and the dealership went out of their way to find the best deal on financing. Before we left, they rewashed the vehicle, topped off the fuel, and dropped off our rent-a-car for us. Coming from Lexington, we were quite satisfied with our purchase.

I went to buy a car from Jake Sweeney Kia. It was my first new car. During negotiations the salesman Ryan said that he would give me a $299 paint protection... for no charge. He also asked if I wanted a $2000 extended warranty. I said no. I felt rushed to sign the contract and initialed where he said to initial. I was also charged over 18% interest because I had no credit even after putting $5,500 down. After getting home I realized there was a $2000 charge for an extended warranty and a $899 charge for paint protection on the contract. I had to drive back and get the extended warranty taken off. I was told it could be 4-6 weeks. I called Ryan about taking off the $299 and he just talked in circles. Then I talked to Cody the sales manager about the paint protection. He said the $899 was for a 5 year protection and since I initialed the contract he would not take it off. He said Ryan was not allowed to offer the paint protection for free. He was very rude and threw me out of the dealership. Nice way to treat a customer. I called the general manager Mr. Sweeney. He said he would give back $600 but I would still have to pay the $299 for a one year protection. I'm very angry because it was supposed to be free. On top of that my sister said she would loan me the money but because I after waiting over 6 weeks for the $2000 to be taken off I called the loan company and they still hadn't received the paperwork so I called the dealership and the lady who was supposed to send in the paperwork had forgotten about it! I now owe several hundred dollars in daily interest and loan fees because of this dealership! The loan could have been paid off right away. I feel I was totally taken advantage of and did not get what was promised. Other people I talked to said they never heard of a dealership acting that way. I wish I had gone anywhere else.

I will start by saying that Brian in Fiat service is WONDERFUL he is always attentive and available to answer any questions. I went in for an oil change... and headlight repair. While waiting I started browsing cars and met Pete. Pete was initially attentive and discussed with me purchasing a new car. I advised Pete that I was upside-down in my current loan. Pete said that I may qualify for a certified new car. I picked out a car and it went downhill from there, Pete became distracted by phone calls, visiting customers, and another customer that he had left on the lot. I suggested to another sales person that he should take over with me and let Pete deal with everyone else. Pete then advised me that I would only receive 1 hard inquiry on my credit report I then should him where Equifax had already notified me of 3 inquiries. He then said that my Husband needed to be present so I should come back, I advised him that my spouse did not need to be present so he eventually obtained permission via text from my spouse. Then he made me feel that I should have $5000 to put as a downpayment after I told him that it was $500. Then he told me that finance had 5 other loans that he was working on (hmmm i did not see any other customers) and again I should come back (i get the feeling he is trying to get rid of me) finally he said that he would also need paystubs- I told him this was not the first time I have purchased a car and they do not need paystubs until the end. I finally gave up and left. As a side note there was 1 finance person in the office and several of the sales people were going into the office to discuss personal business, perhaps if they left him alone he would have gotten more accomplished.
Where to begin...? This place is an absolute joke. If the dealership isn’t going to drop the price they should put no haggle or no negotiation before... people make a huge trip out to see a car. We brought a car in we wanted to trade and it was in good condition and they wanted to give us $2,000 less than what we Kelley blue booked it for. Also the manager Jesse took our car for a test drive to see if they would even take it. Said that when he got down the street the tire popped and tried blaming it on us and said we brought him just a piece of junk so we could get rid of it and called us crooks because of it. Why would we drive 45 min and sit for 3 hours to get rid of a car because of a flat? Also a little backtracking on his part because he said he noticed it down the street. If there was a flat to the point where he had to have one of his people come out to fix it before he could get back we would of never made it to the dealership after our long ride. No matter how much a customer is in the wrong NO manager should treat customers the way Jesse did. These reviews and yelp’s are the most accurate. Don’t waste your time.

I went to look at a specific used car. It took almost 30 minutes of filling out paperwork until I could test drive the car. They also ride with you which... I always find odd and hard to really know if you like the car when someone's with you. Worst thing is that they wanted me to come back in just to talk and wouldn't discuss any pricing over the phone. It's a 45 minute drive from my house which they knew. I was disappointed and felt they just wanted to get me there so they could pressure me in to buying instead of making it convenient and a great customer experience.
Beyond poor customer service. When I refused a warranty, the salesperson becoming very hostile.

My family and I were in the market for a new vehicle and Kia was one of the brands we were looking at. After driving several, we decided on the Kia Soul... because of price, overall quality and safety scores. Working with Steven and Donte at Jake Sweeney Kia, we felt our needs were properly addressed. Donte worked hard to get to the number that we were comfortable spending and as a result, we left the dealer with 2 brand new Kia Souls, one for my wife and one for my son to take to college. After having them for a couple of weeks now, we couldn't be happier with our purchase. All my wife can talk about is how happy she is with her new car. I would recommend both the Kia product and the staff at Jake Sweeney Kia to anyone looking to purchase a vehicle as this will be the firest place we will go when my daughter heads off to college in a few years.
