Best dealership experience we’ve had in a while.

Best dealership experience we’ve had in a while. Sent my wife to check out a Powerstroke, and she didn’t like it. She found the Duramax of her dreams…. Can’t speak enough about how helpful Dakota was in the process. They made a good deal with us, and we took the truck home. I’ve been buying cars on average of 2 a year for the last 20 years…. Do the math, whatever Smith is doing right now- keep it up!! Although it’s creepy as xxxx that cars.com knew we made a deal…. Smdh….technology can be a bit nosey

Horribly disappointed

We just left, and are EXTREMELY disappointed. We drove 2.5 hrs, CASH IN HAND, to look at a 2021 F-250 Platinum Edition that my husband had his heart set on. The first gentleman who greeted us had to, understandably, pass us off to a young man as he was helping another customer. The young man (early 20s) seemed very uninterested in locating the vehicle, as it had apparently been moved to another location over the weekend. He did not even offer to do the bare minimum of looking up where the truck is now located. He stated where he thought it might have been moved too but was uncertain. Simple fact is that we are in the market for 2 cars, I am simply undecided on what I want. You would think that if someone walks in and asks about a very specific vehicle, a salesman might become a bit more attentive to the request. Instead Smith Auto lost a 68k+ deal tonight and and any potential future sales. I genuinely expected better of a "Family" dealership.

Dishonest Business

6/8/21 Negotiated a purchase on a 2019 vehicle $200 off advertised price. I was asked to sign a Buyers Order with the finance manager on this vehicle, shook hands, and left. 6/9/21 called my Salesman to have the Finance Mgr. call me to complete the wire of funds, but after about 30 min. Salesman called me to let me know they sold the vehicle today to someone else without his knowledge. After demanding someone from management call me, I got a call from a co-owner of this dealership. In this conversation I was told sorry "it's just the way the market is now", and there is nothing they can do. He did offer to find another vehicle of same model, and located one with 20K more miles, and history of major damage which was taken as an insult to the already bad situation. In my experience Smith South Plains ownership has no commitment or honesty in how they value, and treat customers. On 6/10 travelled to Dallas and purchased same 2019 model vehicle with 3000 less miles from Plano Audi. The experience was excellent, and easy. Completed all paperwork, funds wire, and drove vehicle home same day.

Unacceptable

Unacceptable! Dakota and managerial staff were unwilling to work with my budget! Constantly tried to strong arm me into larger payments and tried to get me with a dirt cheap trade in price on My 2017 Nissan Altima. Horrible negotiation process! They also tried to make it sound as if my car was a pile of unsellable aluminum. I was already approved with a bank of my choice but they would not give me a reliable choice and tried to sucker me into a 10 year old out of date Truck that I would have no negotiating power with once I try to find another vehicle. I am very disappointed! They pride themselves on customer satisfaction but were very unwilling to make a deal. Thank God I'm not a weak soul to be preyed on!

As a general rule of thumb, it is difficult for any customer to have a favorable trade/equity value after less than 18 months of vehicle ownership. It is never our intent to pressure a customer into a deal with which they are uncomfortable, and we apologize you felt "strong armed." Excellent and professional customer service. Super friendly, made me feel like family. No run around, just the best deal possible on what I wanted! Listened to me and did what I needed and got the deal done as quickly as possible. Made buying my new vehicle completely easy and hassle free. Sales and Service

My husband and I would highly recommend Smith South Plains for purchasing a vehicle and getting is serviced! My Escape needed a new part and Mr. Campbell was very thorough in exaplining what the issue was and how much it would cost. The part had to be ordered and was done so in a timely manner. Also, I was kept informed the entire process. Furthermore, my husband needed a used vehicle with decent mileage and a few other necessities (4x4, white, & cloth interior.) Mr. Sykora was quick, professional and efficient in guiding us to the right pickup. The truck met all our needs and the deal was done in a matter of days. We will use them in the future!
