My visit to John Thornton Chevrolet was for an airbag recall on my 2007 Chevy pickup truck. I was greeted warmly and promptly, earning 5 stars. However, my visit wasn't for warm greetings and hot coffee, I was there for warranty work on my truck which deserves 1 star. Now off to Home Depot to find screws for my glove compartment, which were missing. Update: It took three attempts to find the correct glove compartment screws.

When you hear about those dealerships that really make
When you hear about those dealerships that really make you take it up the arse when buying a used car.... this is one of them. Nothing but a bunch of liars including the sales person Tyler and the service manager Derek. 1. I bought a certified preowned camaro there. They never did the inspection to begin with...they just checked the boxes falsifying documents which is against the law. 2. They lied on Carfax saying they did repairs when they didnt do that until I was there buying it and I could see it wasn't done.... again falsifying documents. 3. Took it to another dealer because it was still vibrating after John Thornton service looked at it a 2nd time and said "oh its probably just a bent wheel". Didn't even fix it. The other dealer told me all 4 wheels were bent and that it would be $3k to replace them. 4. John Thornton told me they would replace all 4 wheels with new ones to bring it in. I get a call from Kurt stating the front wheels weren't bent and that they were only going to refurbish my back ones. 5. A week after driving it the AC stopped working on this CERTIFIED PREOWNED CAR! 6. Let's not forget about the financing girl who told me when I came in her office that my payment would be X amount of dollars which was double what it should be without telling me she had added in all the warranties and service without ever asking me if I wanted them. Just said this is your payment OK. Had I not questioned why my payment was double the price and just signed for my car I would have never known she added all of that in. I asked her to take it out and she then gave me another amount that still had things rolled into it and did this a 3rd and 4th time after repeatedly telling her NO and to take everything put! Most dealerships show you a paper asking what you want to add. Not this dealership...they just take you for all your worth hiding it all. Wrong person to try that with when I have bought 20 cars! 7. Never ever trust buying a car here or having service do anything to it. They are a complete joke!

We apologize you feel this way and this information had me investigate this purchase start to finish. 1. You purchased the car and the inspection was complete as part of our used vehicle inspection and for Certification. It does seem the tech did miss a wheel issue that could have been corrected before but people can make mistakes when servicing so many components on vehicles and we did agree to fix the issue. 2. We the dealer has no control what goes on a third parties site but it will report once any work is done anywhere on a vehicle. 3. Any time you take a recently purchased vehicle to another dealer their service drive will attempt to sell a customer anything especially when they feel someone else will pay the bill and not the customer sitting in front of them. 4. John Thornton will repair any issue without argument and on a pre-owned vehicle just recently purchased and we will repair wheels if the wheel is not damaged beyond repair. This repair does not require replacement and is being repaired to correct the vibration. 5. The AC stopped working is something that can happen at any time and i believe without hesitation we agreed to repair the AC at no cost as vehicles are machines with alot of components and moving parts and will break from time to time but John Thornton will always stand by what we sell for our valued customers. 6.If you have bought "20" cars you know that a Business manager's job is to help provide financing and "OFFER" extended warranties, gap insurance and tire and wheel protection that most customers opt to take to protect their second largest investment and your Business Manager offered these to you and you declined so we feel she did her job by offering and informing you what your payment would be with and without the insurances. 7. We are sorry you feel that way about a dealer that has been here since 1957 serving our community and always taking care of our guests to the best of our ability. We will complete the wheel repair and you can pick up the vehicle as soon as it is finished.
We apologize you feel this way and we can continue to disagree but at the end of the day the Business Manager is 1 month on the job and i can say for certain there was no mis representation but maybe a rookie presentation as she continues to grow in the position. We will repair the wheels and we will not replace on a used vehicle and we will bring the car back to factory spec and you can take it back.
1. You agreed to replafe all 4 wheels with 4 new wheels per Tyler who told me 2x they would all be new and replaced not 2 refurbished ones. I told the other dealership I was having the wheels tested for you all to repair so they weren't trying to sell me anything. 2. Carfax showed you aligned the car before I was at the dealership and at the time I was buying it the car had not been aligned meaning you all marked that it had before it ever had the alignment. 6. I think you are confused on what offering means. Offering means you laid it out on the table options to purchase extended warranties and services. This WAS NOT DONE. I sat down she said congrats on the car and your payment is X dollars and looks at me. Never once mentioning that she added over $125 dollars of crap to my loan. I had to ask her why it was so high! I told her I didnt want it and she then told me it was another price and I had to keep asking her why it was so high! That's called trying to be deceitful and get extra money by adding every service to my payment without telling me! Had I been a new car buyer....I would have never known that my payment was too high and signed and been ripped off. Thats unethical! Every other dealership has printed out the columns of services and how much the payment would be with each service and ASKED me if I want one not automatically add everything in and not even tell me!
I am glad you were in the office to see and hear that there was no misrepresentation with your rookie representative. I am also glad you don't stand by your sales person and sales managers word to their customers on what they said they would do. Telling me to not trust another dealership when clearly your service team just checked the boxes on the certification and then I was lied to about the repairs being done...I would trust South Towne over yall any day of the week. I will GLADLY pick up my car in hopes I can actually enjoy it without something else going wrong with my CERTIFIED PREOWNED CAR!

Been working with John Thornton Chevrolet for about 40
Been working with John Thornton Chevrolet for about 40 years. Would not even consider another Chevrolet dealership. Sales, Service, Parts, and Body Shop all treat you like friends. When I went in this time, Bryon remembered vehicles I owned 20 years ago. Body Shop has gone far beyond normal several times to meet my needs. You just don't get that from other dealerships.

My wife and I have been vigorously searching for a car
My wife and I have been vigorously searching for a car for three weeks. The head gasket blew on our main vehicle. Renting a car for such a thing is frustrating. After many locations, salesman and all the online shopping available we had had enough. In short John Johnston @ John Thornton was great, having a check in hand for three weeks can change things. We located the Suburban that was exactly what we wanted on their website, setup financing, set an appointment for the test drive for 3 pm, complete negotiations of trade and purchase and left with a new ride by 6pm. Professional, fair and efficient experience.
