    I love my new 2018 Platinum Explorer, the way it drives and handles. Especially the heated steering wheel and those comfy heated and cooled leather seats.

    I am now 58 years old and this has been the worst car repair experience of my entire life. I took my Edge in for AC repairs and when I left the back-up... camera didn't work. I was told, the camera had simply stopped working. A few days later the AC stopped working again, I was told the control module would have to be replaced. A replacement module was ordered (repair cost; $800.00) and I asked them to find out what was wrong with the back-up camera while they had it. I was then told that there would be an $800.00 charge to repair the camera. I responded that the camera was not that important to me. The next day, I was told that a ford rep had told someone in service that the back-up camera programing was contained in the AC control module. The service department rep told me that they had to order another control module and they checked the new module by installing another camera in my liftgate due to problems with the original camera. The original camera was reinstalled after testing and I was told that I would still have to order another camera. The day after I got my Edge back I discovered the liftgate no longer functions. Three days later, I was sweating as I was driving home. I returned to the dealership and asked the service manager if he thought my AC unit was working like it should be. He said that he didn't think it was and that they would look at it again. I asked him to have the mechanic check the liftgate while they had it. He called me before noon on Saturday and said the AC had worked fine when they checked it. Then he told me that the motor and the lifting cylinders on the liftgate had gone bad and that repair would be another $800.00. After an hour long discussion, during which time I told him that the liftgate worked properly when I first brought it in, I left my vehicle until Monday so the service manager could confer with the shop manager. Around 9 am on Monday, the shop manager called me and said that the motor and shocks in the liftgate had simply gone bad while my vehicle was in their shop. He then told me that his personnel had not done anything to cause the liftgate not to work and he was not planning to look at it any further. I arrived at the dealership after work to find my vehicle sitting in the yard waiting to be picked up. The service dept. rep. told me that the service manager had gone to get the shop manager so he could explain what had been done. At that point, I told the rep that I really didn't need to talk to the shop manager again since he had already told me that he planned to do nothing. I left this dealership with no expectation of EVER setting foot on their property again.

    Excellent Service. Service Excellence begins with an easy drive into the service area. The Service Managers are prompt, professional, courteous and knowledgeable.... My car was serviced, returned clean, and ready in a very short time. The service waiting area is exceptional, and waiting in this area was comfortable and friendly. Overall, excellent service.

    Service Department did a complete analysis of my problems. Told me what was wrong and ensured that all parts were ordered to rectify the problem. My... vehicle was returned in a timely manner.
