  • New pickup

Hometown motors was able to get me into a new pickup. They have great salespeople who worked hard to make the sale/deal happen.

  • Great service!

They did a great job on our Jeep Wrangler's recall plus an oil change. They even washed the Jeep. Since it was a three hour job due to the recall, I

was supplied a loaner car. I really appreciated this as I was able to run errands and do some shopping in the area. Everyone in the service department was very friendly and kind. Very pleased with my experience!

  • Overall good experience, except...

We had been shopping for a small-mid size AWD SUV as a first car loan for our daughter (who has great job history but virtually no credit). After sett

    ...

ling in on one (Infiniti FX35), we searched Boise and the surrounding areas within a day's drive. As luck would have it, one of the better deals was spotted not too far away in Weiser @ Steve's Hometown Motors. Due to an experience the previous week where we tried to test drive a few in Salt Lake while we were there, I opted to call prior to driving out to make sure they still had it (we hit two dealers in the SLC area who both pulled a "Oh, we just sold that one. But we do have this one..." on us. When I called and explained that I wanted to check if the vehicle was still available I was placed on hold & transferred to sales where I remained on hold for so long that I gave up. I then clicked the "check availability" link in the ad and an email was sent. A couple email exchanges later, we had established who would be contacting us and good contact info. But tired of waiting, we left. On the drive out there, I received another email from the same person asking which car we were inquiring about... something I found odd since I responded to the "check Availability" link in the ad for the SUV. We finally arrive after an hour and a half. The dealership was packed... with employees but very few customers. So why was it impossible to get any information and for such a long time? I was not in a good mood at that point. Our soon to be salesman, Charlie, met us on the lot. I couldn't remember the persons name that was supposed to contact us. That person never did contact us. Additionally, it was cold and I didn't feel like getting my phone out to find the email to figure out who was supposed to contact us, so Charlie became our guy... who incidently was not who was supposed to contact us. That's where things started looking up. We located the car, test drove it, explored other options since we were there, decided to go for the car and started the process. They did wonders working with our particular situation to which I must say I was impressed. Charlie was excellent throughout the process. My only complaint about the process itself was just how long it took. It did take a few hours from the time we said, "We'll take it," to the time we left. I would have felt bad for Charlie on potential lost sales in that time, but it seemed like a very slow day that day (again, refer back to my original gripe). But again, we had a semi-unique situation where those in finance really came through. I've had better dealership experiences and far.... far worse ones. I certainly won't count Steve's out of potential future purchases. And if we do business with them again, I'll definitely be hoping Charlie is still there.
