Mike Haggerty Volkswagen Hours
Since 1896, the Haggerty family has been serving the transportation needs of Chicago. It started in 1896 when John Patri
ck Haggerty, great grandfather to co-owners Mike and Dick Haggerty, began the Haggerty Livery Company on Clark Street on Chicago's south side. He sold and maintained horse drawn carriages and continued his successful business into the 1920's. His son, Richard E. Haggerty Sr., raised five daughters and seven sons. Three of those sons entered the automotive business and came to own GM dealerships.

Arshan Alamgir is a liar. I'd like a call back from the GM to discuss your employees shady tactics. He will tell you things, then change them and make... up reasons as to why he can't do them which are not based in fact. TAKE YOUR BUSINESS ELSEWHERE. I thought I was dealing with a reputable person/dealership. I was wrong.
I was shopping for a Toureg. Looked at some in my area. I but this dealership had one for very good price. So i called to check if its still available.... Jared pick up the phone and confirmed that the vehicle was there, and they will get it ready for me. Guess what i drove hour and a half in the traffic to see the vehicle and they told me it was sold the day before..... They offered me 2 other Touregs that had hail damage for more money than the one that i was looking for. They don't care about your time so don't waste it on them.
I had a very positive experience here. I told them what I was looking for and what I can do financially and they made it work. I hate going to dealerships... because of the pressure they put on, but I did not get that here. At first, they did not have the matching exterior and interior I wanted and the sales rep did not try and sell me something else. Everyone was courteous and professional. I bought the car late at night so I had to come back the next day so they can clean it but I got a chance to meet some of their service people and they were professional and quick. I also like the fact that they have free classes to teach you about your vehicle.
This dealer uses bait and switch tactics to get you to their dealership to sell you a different car. DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME!!! They posted a Tiguan with... low miles here on Cars.com. I called to see if it was still available and was told, by who I learned later was a telemarketer, the car was still available. They even called me before I headed to the dealership and told me the car was still available. Of course, when I get there NO CAR and they tried to sell me something else. I didn't drive there from Evanston for another car. So I left. I blame this tactics on the dealer because they paid the telemarketers to do whatever it takes to get you in the dealership and would not buy anything from them.
THE SERVICE AT MIKE HAGGERTY IS HORRIBLE. THE WORST SERVICE I HAVE EVER RECIEVED IN MY 47 YEARS OF LIFE... I was overcharged to remove a lock nut from... my wheel .. when they were the ones who put the wheel on 5 days prior.i took my car in because I had a hose that popped and noise coming from my wheels. They charged me $260 just to diagnose the issue. 5 days later I had a flat and couldnt remove the tire due to the locknut for my trims being too tight to remove. I contacted the dealership and spoke to Ed. He stated that they would charge me $30 to remove the locknut. I get there and Ed states it would be about an hour to an hour and a half. I watched the mechanic remove the locknut personally. I go to get my car and Rd tells me the charge is $90. Why the xxxx would it cost $90 to remove a locknut that they put on 5 days prior.. Next.. My wife had a check engine light ... took it there to get repaired.. paid over $700.. only to have the check engine light come back on 2 days later.. took it to a different dealership and the problem was solved.. they are always trying to sell but not retain customers.. the service managers are rude and do not return customer calls. I nor any of my other 5 family member that are VW owners will never return .. they just lost 5 customers. Additionally, I noticed that the dealership only responded to positive reviews .. not one of the negative reviews have a reply from the dealership ... yet I'm still waiting for a response from management... I had to call them .. POOR SERVICE AND THE DEALERSHIP SUCKS!
Bought a certified vehicle from this dealership, within 10 days of purchasing it, there were no warning lights in regards to tire pressure low or no visible... indications. On the expressway the tire exploded and and could've caused major damage and when i contacted the dealership to see if it could be replaced the answer was, "Tires go out all the time." This was my 3rd and last vehicle from this dealership.
After I saw the car we tried make deal but we simply couldn't which I totally understand and I left place. After 30 minutes someone calling me to tell... me if you want come back we'll make deal with you for that car.Person who call me knows how much for down payment and how much is affordable per month for me. After I came back they tried to sell me the car which is not even in shop and tellme they gonna have the car for one week. That is disrespectful for the customer who bought new SUV 8 months ago and lately send couple family members too your shop.
Excellent experience with the company and the service provided by the staff, they aim to satisfy customers first and must. Would recommend to all my friends.
Billy went above and beyond to help me. As long as he is in Service. I will come back to Haggerty. He was so professional and personable. He was able to... answer all of my concerns. He also got me a brand new loaner car. I have bought plenty of new cars. I never experienced such a genuinely nice person. He answered all my concerns. Also told me there was a open recall on my Vehicle. I would of never checked. Please let him know it’s Service people like him made my life much easier. He deserves a commendation.
Where do I start? Pictures on the website were obviously touched up so the rust and damage were not visible. Found an issue with traction control module... and yet they still tried to sell me the car without offering to fix the issue. They claimed they had no idea what it would cost lowered the price of the car by $1500 and told me that I could get it fixed. I drove 2 hours for this?
