    I contacted Godfrey Chevy of Cadillac, summer of 2013 looking for a used vehicle to purchase. After my first contact with Paul everything was handled via text. Each time I attempted to call the dealership he was always too busy to take my call. It was high pressure and undermining tones from start to finish. With my budget and option list in mind Paul text me that he found a car that appeared to be a perfect match. At that point I agreed to have my credit ran to see what rate I would get when calculating my payment. Everything appeared to line up yet I still wanted to shop around to make sure I was getting the best deal. When I advised Paul of this he immediately text back stating I could not do that because Godfrey had already hired a driver to go pick up my car from another location. Still not taking my phone calls and this being my first lease I didn't know if this was standard protocol or not so I felt cornered with no other options. That evening a friend drove me 1 hour away to Godfrey Chevy to pick up my car. We arrived before my car did so that alone didn't settle well since I assumed it would already be there based on earlier text messages from Paul. That aside, it was beautiful when it pulled in so at least that was good. The car however lacked all the options I was told it had. There were no duel power seats and it was missing the rear spoiler as seen in the photo Paul sent me (apparently he text me the wrong photo) no worries he said assuring me the dealership would make it right so he ordered the spoiler and set me up with an appointment to bring my car back for that addition. Two days later I called to confirm everything was all set. My appointment was confirmed alright however I was told the cost was $1,300. Seriously? Still unable to reach Paul by phone and now he no longer responded to my text messages, I cancelled the appointment. After reviewing my lease contract I also noticed a charge for a damage waiver product Paul said he " threw in to take care of me". Not true! That charge was well over $1000. Add to all this the fact that my Cruze had multiple recalls in the first few months and had many other issues mechanically that left me in a rental car while being repaired. Frustrated, I reached out to Evan Godfrey to express my disappointment on many occasions and each time he apologized but said there was nothing he could do to get me out of my lease. As for Paul, Evan stated he advised him not to call me because he felt it would further upset me. Unbelievable! Fast forward to January 2016, I ended up turning in my lease 6 months early because I was told, at the time I signed my lease, that early terminations were common up to 6 months prior to the end of a lease with no additional fees or contract obligation. Excited to have received a letter by mail in January that my Cruze was eligible for the early lease termination I purchased a new vehicle locally and turned in my leased vehicle. I should not have been surprised to receive a letter from my financial institution stating I had an early termination fee of $800 due immediately to satisfy my lease in full. Lesson learned... I will never be taken advantage of agin when purchasing another vehicle!

Getting out of a lease early is possible when moving into a new transaction and we would've ensured no other obligations if this is what you wished to pursue. Again I apologize if I did not explain that fully. The last time we talked you had asked if I could purchase the vehicle from you at the dealer for inventory amount. At the time the market value of the vehicle was not equal to the early termination amount. Again I apologize if I misunderstood what you were trying to do. I am also sorry to hear of any early termination fees. Unfortunately those are assessed by the leasing company (Ally Bank) in this case, due to excess wear and tear or mileage overages. If you have any questions about this please contact me and I would be happy to provide a number to call with objections. I am sorry, but we do not have any control over any early termination amounts. Tracy I can't apologize enough for your experience. I hope this response finds you well and enjoying your new vehicle. If at any time you should have any questions please don't hesitate to call me here at the dealership.
