My "final" price jumped up four thousand dollars shortly after our deal was supposedly finalized due to "a mistake". Whether a mistake or not, unacceptable.... Will buy elsewhere.
My husband and I were looking for a new car to trade in his KIA that the lease was expiring on. My husband contacted the dealership via their website... and was contacted in a very timely, professional manner. We are from Northeastern Pennsylvania and could not find a dealership anywhere locally that had nearly the selection as Matthews. We made an appointment to visit the Mazda Dealership at Matthews. Upon arrival, we met with Paul Tierno. Paul was the gentleman with whom we spoke when we were contacted. PERFECT GENTLEMEN! You can NOT find a better man to deal with. Believe me when I say, my husband put this man to the test! We test drove three different Mazdas the Saturday we came up. Paul knew everything there was to know about each model and had the patience of a saint! This man spent all the time in the world to help us make our choice and research our options. He had everything prepared ahead of time and was more than generous with our lease trade-in. I would recommend this dealership and Paul to anyone who asks. Please visit them just to see what it is like to have a genuine person help you in your hunt for a vehicle. I have the utmost respect for Paul and express my complete gratitude for everything he has done for us. Happy Holidays!
From the time my husband and I walked in the door we were treated with respect and everyone was extremely friendly. The President of the company came out... and talked with us and was very upfront about the condition of the used vehicle we were looking at purchasing. It was such a refreshing change to deal with people who truly care about their customers and don't just work to make a sale. They are forging relationships not just selling cars. I will definitely return to this dealership when I need to buy a new or used car.
If you did not buy your Buick from Matthew's Auto by the waterfalls DO NOT take it to their Buick service department. I bought a new Buick from another... dealership but I take it to Matthew's because it is convenient. Last summer I took my car to Matthew's for my second free oil change. I noticed a couple of weeks later that I had a dent on the rocker panel of the car. Having not hit anything I was confused but I took it to get it fixed at a body shop and then promptly moved on. This past January I took the car back to Matthews for my third free oil change. Since it was winter I didn't not get a chance to hand wash the car until March. To my surprise,I had rock panel dents on either side of the car. Since I never hit anything, and I would have known it if I did, I was completely befuddled. I took my car again to the body shop to be repaired. I had a hunch as to what had happened but upon completion of the repairs it was confirmed that the damage was consistent with a car lift. The only time it was on a car lift was at Matthew's Buick Service Center. I took the car to Matthew's the next day with pictures I had of the damage and copies of the bills which totaled over $400. A service manager named Joe came out to assess the situation. He asked why it took so long to come to them and I explained that it was under the car where it could not be readily seen. He said I already fixed which I did. He then took no responsibility for any of the damages that had occurred and wouldn't even consider it happening at Matthew's. I then mentioned to him that I could bring it back for my final oil change to see if it occurred again and he threatened to black list me. That to me was an admission of guilt because of the possibility of it happening again. Then when he saw where I bought the car from he questioned me as to why I did not take it back to the original dealership as if it were his business. This suggested to me that it makes a difference where you buy the car and where you get it serviced even under the GM umbrella. The services that were made to my car at Matthew's were fine and I have no complaints there. They have fixed other things and I even wrote glowing reviews on surveys they had sent me. Their Chevy service department is great with all my experiences back when I had a Pontiac. I have talked to their sales people who are also very good at what they do. If I discover I am wrong with what I am saying I will call up Matthew's myself and apologize. However if I can make someone aware of this situation or Matthew's would take more care with their lifts then my job is done here. Rocker panels are not looked too closely at unless specifically looked at SO BE AWARE. I am sure I will be blacklisted now.
In September of 2015, my 2004 Hyundai Santa Fe was totaled by a drunk driver. I started car shopping soon after that (something I hadn't done in over 11... years) and not something I was looking forward to doing. I went to Matthews by the waterfalls after seeing a newspaper ad listing their used cars for sale. I walked on the lot and started looking at a 2012 Hyundai Santa Fe. I was greeted by Tom Donovan, a salesperson at Matthews. I told Tom the reason I was car shopping and Tom was very empathetic to my situation. He told me I could test drive the 2012 Santa Fe for as long as I wanted. I test drove the car for a few hours and fell in love with it. It was very similar to my 2004 Santa Fe with many nice upgrades. After the test drive, I knew this vehicle was right for me and I bought it. I found Tom to be extremely friendly, very personable and very accommodating. In the past, I have always found car salesmen to be pushy and "in your face". This was definitely not the case with Tom. I would recommend him to anyone looking to buy a new or used car.

I had a great experience with the Matthews GM Center in Vestal NY and our salesperson Tom Donovan. I would highly recommend working with Tom if you find... yourself wanting to get a new or used car through Matthews. It was a pleasure to work with Tom on getting me a used vehicle. This is our second vehicle through Tom and we have found it enjoyable to do business with him. He's very friendly and always accessible to answer your questions and concerns, and if he can't, he finds somebody who can. We look forward to working with Tom again in the future.

We were just looking at cars, not intending to make a decision that very day. Well guess what we came home with a new car. We were very pleased with Tom... Donovan who was very professional and answered any questions that we had. He showed us a White Buick Lacrosse and the more I looked at it the more I like it. Paul and I left to talk things over, came back and told Tom that we will take it. The service department had it ready so we could take it home that very day. Very pleased that Tom took the time to go over very detail of the car and all the accessories and how each worked. Completely different from what our other car was. We have been back a couple of times to ask questions of how this or that worked and Tom was so gracious to show us how. Tom has always there to help and always with a smile on his face. Tom is a topnotch person and salesmen. We love our car.
Tom D did a great job helping us out we came in really late in the evening and he was able to take a test drive and start some paperwork before closing!!!... When we ride for delivery in the next morning he had our Buick enclave detailed and ready to go enjoy our Thanksgiving vacation with the kids !!! We love the second row bucket seats for the kids. Tom helped us get our OnStar set up and pair my phone to the car .... I've had the hands-free calling before but this OnStar is awesome thanks Tom !
