Two emails sent to get a price on car because I live 80 miles away, one reply with no price, tried again and got NO response, tried to call twice and both... times put on hold and no one answered, really, this is how you sell cars? Wouldn’t do business with them if they gave me the car
Was in town for a family event and saw a used Toyota Rav4 that I liked. Sent an inquiry to the dealer and the salesperson was rather slow to respond (two... business days, to be exact). I made an appointment to come in the following Saturday to drive the Rav4 and have my trade evaluated. When I arrived at the dealership after a four hour drive the sales person with whom I had made the appointment was with another customer and I was shuffled off to the customer lounge which had no coffee and the TV was on some boring farming channel. I waited an hour and 15 minutes for someone to assist me and was ignored. Finally, as I was getting ready to leave in frustration, the same person who put me in the lounge decided to wait on me. He demonstrated the car but unfortunately we couldn’t agree on the trade difference (which was $2000 less than the trade in estimator on their website said my car was worth, so I left. He said he’d call me the following Monday but that never happened (and still hasn’t). Due to the time wasted at Clemons I was late for another appointment I had made with another dealer to look at a different car and when I finally made it over there the car had been sold. I feel that the staff at Clemons really wasn’t that interested in selling me a car and if I’d known they were going to waste my time I’d never have gone there. I was treated poorly and I cannot in good conscience recommend this dealership to anyone.
Though I did not end up making a purchase from this dealership, the sales reps there were very good about responding to my e-mail inquiries and seemed... genuinely interested in earning my business and providing a pleasant purchasing experience.

Sent inquiry dealership regarding a used Rav4 that I was interested in trading for. The sales person didn’t call back until two days later. Eventually... scheduled an appointment for the following Saturday. After driving four hours to get there I was hustled out to the customer lounge as the sales person was with another customer. He apparently couldn’t have bothered to tell me himself that he had another customer. After 1 hour and 15 minutes of waiting I got up to leave and was finally approached by another sales person, who demonstrated the car in which I was interested. After evaluating my trade in they came back with an unacceptable lowball offer which I declined. I had planned on going to another dealer to look at another car for which I made an appointment but as a result of wasting my time at Clemons I missed that appointment and that car was sold to someone else. Cross this dealership off your list if you want good customer service.
Working with Travis and Karen at Clemons was a treat. I travel 60-plus miles from Des Moines to Ottumwa to look at a used car and purchased it within 20... minutes of arriving. The staff made the whole experience a pleasure . . .and I preferred this experience over having to deal with larger dealerships. This is a GREAT dealership! I'll be back to buy here again.
I asked about 2 cars on an email 2 weeks ago and never got a reply. I feel that is unprofessional and the worse customer service somebody can provide.
Emailed them 3 times wanting info on a truck and still no reply. They also can't even take 5 minutes to post a pic of the truck so we can actually see... it.
I called the salesman and had him look the car over for me,He checked everything that i asked him to.He knew it was a 2 hour drive for me.When we got there... to look at the car it was everything he said it was. We bought the car and was very pleased with the dealership.

The broke my windshield while they where repairing my moonroof. It took them 14 days to fix my truck, and they damaged my truck while repairs where going... on. The had to remove the seats and broke the covers to the seats, I had greasy finger prints on my headliner that they had to remove and replace, they broke the tab on the shade cover of my moon roof, where the driver side switches are to adjust the seat they broke the plastic that holds it to my seat, the chrome inserts for my chrome inserts for my cup holder the gouged it three time and put a gouge in my wood center console, and yet they say they didnt do nothing wrong to my truck. I have never had such poor service from a ford dealer like this before. It shows their lack of respect for other peoples property or maybe they just dont care about the service. Yes I do work out of town and choose this dealership to work on my truck but "DRIVER BEWARE" dont take you vehicle there for service. You may not like the way it comes back to you. I personally will tell everyone that if they ever need service work to never take it to Clemons Ford in Ottumwa.
I'm not sure why the other reviews were negative because I've had nothing but positive experiences with Clemons. I service my vehicle there regularly and... there service department is top notch. I purchased my 2008 Prius from them a few years ago and am currently looking to purchase a SUV for my wife. I have found the Sales Department to be very helpful and up front about things... not like some places you go to where it seems they only care about getting the sale. I'm not one to make quick decisions on buying a car and these guys don't push at all. They listen and help you find a car in your budget!!! 5 stars for this dealership from me!
