Carter and Anderson is a complete joke! How long do they think they will be able to take people's hard earned money before their reputation catches up... to them? No matter how desperate, STEER CLEAR of their money-pit vehicles and go somewhere else where they value you as a customer. You'll find yourself spending THOUSANDS in repairs right after purchase. They will lie and tell you the vehicle runs great and has no problems. You only get a small amount of gas to testdrive; they do this on purpose so you can't drive enough to find out there's a problem. What's worse is when they demean the credentials of you as a mechanically knowledgeable woman and other car shops when there is obviously something wrong with the vehicle. Warranty or no warranty, I have found other car dealers would rather resolve the problem as much as possible to keep a good name. This place has no intention to provide a fair trade; they want money for nothing. Their names are an embarrassment to the car salesman industry. ZERO STARS!
The two gentlemen who own this dealership aren't like your ordinary car salesmen. They aren't going to harass you, they are very honest, and they want... to help you get a good deal. There are not huge fees like other dealerships and made my first car buying process very easy!
Full Disclosure: I actually worked for these guys for several years while I was in college. Over the years I observed them sell hundreds of cars, the bulk... of which were to repeat customers or referrals from repeat customers. I have always felt that they treated customers fairly and always did what they said they would do. Since my time there I have purchased several cars from them and recommended countless friends and family members to Carter & Anderson. Both Ronnie & Mike have always taken care of anybody I have sent them. They will continue to be my first choice when it comes to recommending an honest care dealer.
I recently wrote a review about this dealership and unfortunately I wrote this review a bit prematurely after one bad conversation with one of the owners.... I bought a 2005 Accord hybrid around 2 months ago and a few days into my ownership I tried the a/c for the first time. It did not work. Turns out the compressor, etc. needed replacing, a $3,100 job said two repair shops. After working with one of the most pleasant salesman I've ever worked with he worked with another mechanic and got the repair taken care of at little cost to me. Thanks to the kind salesman at this dealership! Good service. I'd recommend it but please do your homework first and take any used car from any dealer to a mechanic for a check-up first.
I bought a vehicle from these people in 2009. I realize it's as is. But. I had not even driven it a week and a rear bearing needed repair. I noticed it... on a test drive but they said it was TREAD noise. Cost me 700 to repair. The rear bumper was damaged too. They had it repaired by a Joe Bob body shop and the clips to bumper weren't even attached. Regarding the bearing noise. It stated the same thing on my paperwork from mannneheim auto auction that it sounded like bearing noise. They agreed to pay for a small part of the repair. BEWARE!!! I would not recommend these people.
We offer all of our customers the opportunity to take any of our vehicles to their mechanic to have it inspected and checked out BEFORE purchase. We w...ant our customers to know what they are buying .....we can't be anymore honest or fair than that! Why this customer waited 4 YEARS to share some displeasure in his car is beyond me. Yes we did sell this car at a discounted price. Yes we did sell it AS-IS because of the discounted price. ...And yes we agreed to help him out on the wheel bearing at that time which we didn't have to. But we did...we always want to build good customer relations. Our cost is $140.00 to $200.00 to replace a wheel bearing. He could have gotten it replace for that....but he got gouged by his mechanic who overcharged him to fix it. $700.00 for 1 wheel bearing repair is insane! I must say I'm still confused....He agreed to buy this car AS-IS. We even helped him out on the cost to repair.....Unfortunately you can not please everybody....no matter what. It seems many times that people who are really happy do not take the time to give a review....but you will always see people take time to voice their dissatisfaction. Really sorry this did not turn out the way the customer had expected. We strive to make every car purchase experience a fun and enjoyable experience. Typical internet low ball seller. Get rude as soon as you check up what they sell. Did my due diligence on one of their car (Porsche 928), asking questions... and pictures, and commissioning an independent review. Everything started well but as soon as the review came back with a low average scoring, they suddenly noticed me of the unavailability of the car as I notified them of the poor score. What a coincidence! Don't even ask for a shipping quote, they can't get one. Far from a serious shop. Stay away.
Please, ask as many questions as you like....in fact we encourage you to ask lots of questions! It helps us to better understand how we can assist and... serve you the customer. It is very unfortunate that this internet customer feels disgruntled. He had contacted with us off an on for nearly a week and a half in regards to the Porsche 928 and just couldn't come to a decision to move forward and purchase. During that time someone else saw the value in this collectable Porsche deal and seized the opportunity. The internet customer is really mad at himself for not moving quick enough and loosing the car. So he wants to take it out on us the dealer. Unfortunately that happens sometimes. We are Triple A rated buy the BBB and have been in business 27 years. Our goal is to sell Great Cars at fair prices and to earn your business through Honesty and hard work to make buying a car from us a enjoyable car buying experience. It's unfortunate but you will not make everyone happy. We understand that too.
