    I needed a new car because the air conditioning went out in my car and it was too expensive to fix, so I sold my car and went out looking for a new car... with functioning air conditioning. During my search, I came across a 2005 Volvo S40 sold by Preferred Sales and Leasing, LLC in Woodbury, Minnesota. I was particularly interested in this car because in the vehicle description on Preferred’s website it said that the car had “Memory Feature-including locking auto climate control” and “Manual climate control.” Both of which showed a fully functional air conditioning system in the car that controlled the car’s temperature. On the afternoon of Thursday, August 23, 2019, I drove to Preferred Sales and Leasing to look at the Volvo. Once there, I met Nick Plank, a salesman for Preferred and John Plank’s (the owner) son. I told him what car I wanted to look at, and he took me to the Volvo. On the morning of Monday, August 26th, after stopping at the bank, my family and I headed to Preferred. Once at Preferred, the purchasing process went very quickly, and I drove off in my new car. On the way home from work the very next day, Tuesday, August 27th, I turned on my air conditioning, and to my horror, warm air started to come out. I tried adjusting the knobs and doing everything I could do turn on cold air, but nothing but warm air came out. I was very frustrated because the entire reason that I had bought the car was for working air conditioning, and the website led me to believe that the air condition was fully functional. I at once called and left a message for the owner explaining that the air conditioning was not working. John Plank called me back and said that he would recharge the air conditioning for me, but that was all that he would do. He reminded me that I bought the car “As Is” and that he was under no obligation to repair the car. John told me to bring in the car before 1:00 p.m., Thursday, August 29th, to Metric Auto Works, the mechanic that he uses and that is located behind Preferred’s sales office. On Thursday, August 29th, I took the Volvo to Chris Huntington at Metric Auto Works. Chris inspected the air conditioning system in the car and found that the A/C compressor needed to be replaced and that the cost to replace the compressor was $800.00. Understandably very frustrated that the car that I had bought for the express purpose of having a working air conditioner three days before was now going to cost $800 to repair, I drove next door to Preferred and spoke with the owner John Plank. I explained to John that it was going to cost $800 to fix the air conditioner and that a working a/c system was the whole reason that I bought the car. I told him that the reason that I had bought the car was that the website said twice that it had a climate control system. I told him that I relied on the website’s and that I would like Preferred to pay to fix the air conditioning or take back the car and refund me the $4,500 that I paid for the car. John repeated to me that he sold the car “As Is,” that I had signed the “As Is” agreement, and that he does not take cars back. He also said that he had given me a good deal, that he had taken $900 off the price, and that the car was worth $5,000. I told him if that was the case, he could have the car back and sell it for more than what I paid for it. He refused. He then offered to pay $200 of the $800 to fix the car air conditioning. I said that offer was hardly fair in light of the fact that the only reason that I bought the car was because I was lead to believe the car’s a/c system worked and now, even with his $200, I’d still have to pay $600 to fix the car. After a heated discussion, we parted ways with John telling me that unless I took his offer, I was out of luck.

    Couldn't be happier ..Was a little hesitant because of the price on the car I thought maybe it had problems because it was so low priced but when I went... to look at the vehicle it was very nice and clean . will buy from them again !

    Let's just get to the main points: I drove from Mpls to Woodbury (just 25 miles) to check on a vehicle there. (1) Casual atmosphere: A few minutes from... arrival, with my ID & Insr info on file, I was handed the car keys & off I went on a test drive BY MYSELF, with no salesman riding along to interrupt my thoughts. Any questions I had was addressed after the test drive by a teenage intern/CRO - Customer Relations Officer. (2) After a brief price negotiation, I bought the vehicle - I was impressed by their creative financing with great interest rate. (3) The CEO offered to have the vehicle dropped off at my place of choice in Mpls at no charge - that was a big plus in my book.

    I bought a sweet 2008 Porsche Cayenne S with very low miles for below book from John at Preferred Sales & Leasing in Woodbury. I was treated with nothing... but respect throughout the entire experience. When i was at the nearby bank AND at my nearby insurance office I heard them both say that was who they bought their cars from too. I would recommend this dealership.

    I bought a used 2011 BMW X drive from this dealership, and it was the best buying experience. Right from when I walked through the door, John welcomed... me and made me feel at home. He even gave the keys and told me take the car for a spin all by myself, that's when I knew I was at the right dealership. The buying process didn't even last for an hour, it was painless and hassle free. I am enjoying my new car! Thank John and your team!

    This was the most Hassle free car buying experience I have ever had, Everything was very low pressure, from taking cars out on test drives to financing.... I was in and out in minutes not hours, with a fantastic XF. I could not recommend this dealership any more!
