Bought a car on Wednesday night noticed the brake light was out. Told me to bring it back on Monday and they would take care of it. Did the oh I am in... a cabin filter and even filled it up. Will shop again.

This was actually for the Schaumburg location. I purchased a 2010 Traverse in 2014 and within two years I was told by CarMax that it was worth $18,000... less than I had paid them for it due to "major engine and transmission issues". The transmission issue I had raised alarms about right away and was told it was totally normal. The engine issue was for a bad timing chain! On a vehicle that was only 6 years old and had less than 100,000 miles on it. The front end needed to be replaced, new tires, the DVD system as well as the power windows on the entire right side! All were part of the 125 point inspection that I was told was the reason I was paying more for. They REFUSED to help me because I had not purchased their extended warranty (MaxCare). PLEASE BEWARE! YOU'RE NOT BEING SOLD THE TRUTH! My second car I purchased out of necessity from CarMax had immediate engine trouble and they kept it at the dealership for nearly a month to repair all of the issues and gave me a hard time about demanding a loaner car instead of having to pay for a rental while they fixed a car I had purchased less than a month before. They claim to sell better cars and that's what you pay a premium for and they claim to have your back. DO NOT BELIEVE IT! They don't care about you, only your money and forcing you to buy their MaxCare coverage "or else"!

Felt welcome as I entered the door. Staff was available and when I asked for the sales person that I had been communicating with, salesperson was waiting.

This is the second car I've bought from CarMax (I also once sold a car). Every experience has been fantastic but this actually ranks as the best. Sales... Consultant LaShinda John answered every question I had via email and then, for financing, by phone so that I walked in with the exact make, model and trim I wanted waiting for me to test drive and pre-approved for financing. The entire in-dealer experience took less than an hour and a half. Fantastic company and fantastic sales consultant.

Took my mom to buy a pre-driven Camry. Car was there, clean, and ready to go. Test Drove, no issues. In and out fast, no games. No pressure. Good Sales... Price. Worked with Mike Rubino, good experience! Would Highly Recommend Him!

Purchased an '08 VW Passat from CarMax. Had it transferred from another CarMax in NC to IL at a reasonable price. Took approximately 1.5 wks for delivery... but normally they told me takes about 3 wks because it's just a matter of when a hired truck will be in the vicinity of that CarMax and going the right direction. During the shipment my car incurred a flight and CarMax promptly replaced my two front tires. Staff was very friendly, knowledgeable about the vehicles and low-pressure. Price-wise I got a great deal but you have to be careful since many cars at CarMax can be found at dealers for somewhat less. DO your research. They also offer top-notch extended warranties. For my specific vehicle I went with another provider but it was really a toss up. CarMax costs a little more but little to no deductible, my plan had a $100 deductible but cost less. You kind of get that RadioShack-feel walking into a CarMax but if you find the car you want who cares. The whole buying process was very smooth, a few times their computer system locked or the sales person needed to find out some info and I sat in a small office for a little longer than I would have liked but overall was a good experience. Any question I had if the sales-rep didn't know he would get someone who did.
