Hello!

Hello! On December 26th, 2024 I bought from Carmax San Antonio (Fountainhead Dr.) a RAM 1500 made in 2015 for $24,850. Not even two months passed and the car broke on February 18th. I wasn't able to start it. The car was towed to the Carmax facility and kept there for 11 days. They were going to repair it because it still had the Carmax 3 month warranty. Being a commercial car, my company has lost a lot of money because I wasn't able to work with it for 11 days. Carmax agents told me that Carmax does not take any responsibility for that. In these 11 days the communication from Carmax was very poor. Unreplied e-mails, unanswered phone calls, they promised to call back on the same day but called the next day after I have reached to them again. It was always me who had to reach out to them. They took the car to a third party repair shop. I had to call the shop myself to find out updates about the car. Carmax agents told me: "We weren't able to get a hold of them." I called the repair shop and in 2 minutes they gave me all the updates. I've decided to sell the car back to Carmax and they gave me an appraisal for $17,000. That is almost $8,000 less than what I paid for not even 2 months earlier. I have put into the car only 2,000 miles. The last drop was when I realized that the 11 month warranty they gave me for the repairs does not apply for commercial vehicles. So, basically I'm left out with nothing. I would have been open to buying another truck from Carmax had they evaluated my RAM for the price I paid for it. I'm totally disappointed with Carmax and will never recommend them to anyone.

Service Dept, I don't know how to express my self.

Service Dept, I don't know how to express my self. Frustrating, mad, to start. They cannot find and fix it. So our car has Sat there over a week. Service mage said he has no tech's available to look at it or a shortage of tech's. So today after a week there they call me and say that they cannot find the problem with the vehicle, gee Thanks CARMAX.

Scam company

I bought a car from the carmax. It's scam company!! Only after 3months, my car transmission is broken down. They don't take any responsibility for that. Even though they suggest me to fix the car at cheaper price at their repair shop, they keep delaying the repair. They already postponed the repair 4 times.

Horrible

I was at carmax yesterday to see what they would give me for the Land Rover I bought in November, yes I've had it for only 2 months. It almost left me stranded while driving from San Antonio to Florida to see my family during the holidays. I couldn't shut it off the entire time because I was afraid the battery would die. Which I had to replace when I got to Florida. I have yet to see any reimbursement money from that. It's been in the shop 4 or 5 times and I just picked it up yesterday after they had it for 2 weeks. They gave me standard textbook appraisal and that leaves me about 9k upside down. I asked them if I could just be free from the vehicle considering all the issues I've had to include a coolant leak where they had to replace the radiator. So needless to say, this was my 2nd vehicle I bought from them and it will be my last. Carmax vehicles are also WAY overpriced when you look at other dealers in the area. A 2016 4Runner will run you 26k with 60k miles compared to the same vehicle with 30k miles for the same price. Be aware. I'm disappointed.

I’ve traded two vehicles with Carmax in San Antonio and I must say I’m very impressed with their customer service and their time that they give to the consumers. Patrick Burrows has been an amazing sales associates and I would recommend him to anyone that is wanting to trade in their vehicle

Beware! Horrible waste of time. Learned our lesson

Wife and son have been looking for quite awhile for a solid used car. Finally settled on a vehicle from Carmax off I-35. As soon as my son pulled up in the vehicle i could tell there was a problem with the car. Paint looked good but you could tell the car had been repainted. Wider than normal gap on a couple spots on drivers side which was first sign that car was in prior accident. Sales rep represented the car with a clean title and no prior accidents. Put car on lift and you could see the overspray and where parts underneath had been hammered out from prior damage. The car had been hit from front and back. Not sure how car had a clean title but something shady is going on. And how the dealership did not catch this when they are the professionals is beyond me. I spotted the problems in 15 seconds. They should have known the car had prior damage by the looks and to then make an excuse that they didnt know. Lies and deceit! My guess is Carmax finds cars with clean titles and if they can be fixed, they fix them and to not report it as being wrecked or they buy cars from a place that does this and sells to Carmax. Either way, a dealership and people that deal with cars should know what to look for. Only good that came of it was they took the car back and my son got the car of his dreams for about $100 less. First and last time that any of my family will deal with a Carmax again.

Mrs. Ice Queen

Jose was assigned to help me. He was very helpful and knowledgeable. I very much wanted to do business with him but they didn't have the exact car I was looking for.
