Don't believe the fake positive reviews.

Bait and switch, underhanded practices. Talked with Jose via facebook marketplace thinking this was a private vehicle sale, turned out to be a dealer. I was okay with that and arranged to come see him after work. I get there and find out he doesn't come to the office, he only deals with the website/facebook site sales. He had me come in as if I was meeting him. Then lied saying it was just his day off, when in fact his coworker already told me he never comes to the office. The car I asked specific questions about (price, availability, etc) was now all of a sudden already sent to auction. The second car I look at they tell me the website price did not include a 3K down payment. Poor sales tactics, shady customer service. I would never buy a car here. Went and purchased the same exact car (with lower miles) for less than his "lowest" price. Crooks.

I've been trying to get in touch with them for a few

I've been trying to get in touch with them for a few weeks with no response. If the vehicle is sold, they could at least let me know.

False advertising and super shady.

I sent a message asking about a specific car to see if it was available. They called me the next morning to let me know it was still available and asked if I wanted to come see it. They gave me an appointment time and told me it would be ready for me when I arrived. I drove 2.5 hours to get to this place and when I got there I was told the car was in their other lot. So 8 minutes down the road and I get to their "lot" where the door was locked and no one was in the office. No one seemed to know there was no one there or how to find them. The guy from the body shop gave us the keys to look at the car. First of all, the car was advertised as a 5 speed manual but this car was clearly an automatic. Second, the check engine light was on. He said it was because it needed an oil change. So clearly this car was not ready for sale. Third, I Was told to go back to the other location and they would bring it there so we could test drive it. When I got back to the other location they had no idea I had an appointment, the car was not ready, the check engine light was on, they were waiting for an O2 sensor to come in, and the car needed an oil change. We left immediately because of how ridiculous and unprofessional this was. It could all been avoided if they had told me the car wasn't ready from the beginning and advertised the right vehicle!!! 6 hours of driving to get the run around. And no one had a clue. Even if the car was perfect I would never do business with such a horrible place.

10/10 do not recommend

Came all the way from Baltimore MD, to BUY a Chevy Tahoe 2015. My drive was 4 hours and 189 miles away from home. I let them know that if I was driving this far I was coming to buy it, from the time they opened until 5 minutes before I got there I was in contact with them and letting them know my distance/ETA. Finally after 4 hours of driving I made it to this dealership, just for them to tell me that five minutes before I arrived they sold the Tahoe. I honestly felt like breaking down my entire day, expensive gas, and mileage on my current vehicle completely waisted. I understand business is business but I was 5 minutes away coming to buy they could have told the person they have someone coming to get it and that if I doesn’t go through they will call them. But no they didn’t care about me as a customer. I’m so in disbelief 10/10 would never recommend this dealership they don’t care about customers.

Bait & Switch Tactics – Total Dishonest and Shady

Found a White 2019 Nissan Rouge Sport on TrueCar listed at 5 Star Auto Sales (AKA - FCA Auto Group) in East Meadow. Checked availability and it was available to view. I was contacted directly by Joseph Callejo at the dealership and made an appointment for the next day at 3pm. I received a call 2 hours before the appointment confirming the appointment and I specified again the car I was interested in, and he confirmed it was there and ready to view. I took off work early and brought my wife and daughter, and had to park 2 blocks away because their lot had no parking and was overflowing with cars for sale. I told the gentleman at the counter I had an appointment and what car I was there to look at, a sales person (not the one I spoke to by phone – he was nowhere to be found) came over with keys in hand and said you are here to see the Red Nissan ($5K more than the one I was interested in BTW), I said "No the White one, I just confirmed less than 2 hours ago that it was here". He immediately said “I think that one sold earlier today”. I was really pissed off, I took off early and dragged my whole family out there to have them pull a bait and switch on me, they should be ashamed of themselves. The car is still listed on their own website and TrueCar as available. I don’t know how in this day and age they still think they can get away with this nonsense.

Beware!

Beware! These guys are scammers. They try to mark up the car in dealership fees. Car was listed online for 15.8k and they marked up the car to 19k when I got to the dealership for the test drive, despite numerous listings reflecting the car’s price to be 15.8k. The salesman Marvin tried to add $2k in dealership fees although prior to going to the dealership I was told by their staff that the dealership didn’t have any dealership fees. They’ll tell you anything to get you in the door to try and pull a fast one on you. DO NOT BUY FROM THIS DEALERSHIP! They’ll play semantics to justify their tactics, telling you all other dealerships have fees (which is completely not true). They’ll show you other dealership websites in an effort to justify their erroneous hidden dealership fees. On top of that, this dealership’s website advertised the car I went to see as not having any accidents on the vehicle’s history, however, when I get there & a Carfax is presented to me the vehicle had been in an accident a few years prior and had sustained exterior damages as a result. In addition, the vehicle I went to test drive also had a coolant leaking problem, loose interior compartments, and scratches along the exterior. With that being said, they (Marvin, salesman) still had the nerve to try and charge me an additional $1995 in dealer “preparation” fees smh. Scan, scan, scan…. Stay far away!

Terrific Buying Experience

Terrific buying experience overall. I worked with Shawn who was very helpful, knowledgeable and most importantly honest when it came down to the price and vehicle itself. I purchased a 2013 BMW X5 and the process was so seamless that I was able to drive away with my new car the same day! Marvin who is the manager is also very helpful and very understanding. I will definitely recommend 5 Star Auto! Btw I am a Tesla owner, and even though the Tesla buying experience is unbeatable, these guys made it extremely comparable to that experience which speaks volumes.

Great place to buy a car

Had a great experience purchasing a 1963 Rambler from here. It was everything they said it was on their website and more. The salesman and the owner were great to deal with. I drove 114 miles and bought the car as soon as I saw it. It couldn't of gone better.

Five Star Auto 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

I want to give a huge thumbs up 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻 to the guys at Five Star Auto on Newbridge Rd in East Meadow. Jess the salesman and Craig the owner were awesome . They had a nice selection of quality cars of which I bought a 99 Mazda Miata. They worked with me on the price and serviced it as I asked to repair a few little items. I picked up the car and within 24 hrs had a problem with the radiator so I called them and they sent a flatbed within 1/2hr on a Saturday by Monday I had the car back with a brand new one installed. I highly recommend if you are looking for a good used vehicle at a fair price and guys who stand behind their vehicles the definitely go to Five Star !!!
