"Experience Clear and Simple Car Buying and Selling"
They have all sales people trained to sell without a conscience. High prices, no service, low trades ... typical used car sales tactics. Overall, a poor... experience. I'll never return and will encourage others to stay away.
Called to check availability and scheduled a test drive. Was willing to test drive and buy today since I need it asap. Drive an hour to the dealership.... All the employees were so disorganized. Many unhappy customers waiting and complaining about the service of Car Max Hartford. I WOULD NEVER BUY A CAR FROM CAR MAC HARTFORD!!!
We purchased 2 cars from Car Max over the last 5 years and were extremely satisfied with the salesperson, financing people, and the service department.... I raved about them for years. This last purchase was horrendous. The sales person was frazzled, definitely overworked. Because of a change midway through my financing app, my credit report now has 2 hard inquiries. I was told that would definitely not happen. Cost me .25 of a point when I financed through my bank. The business office staff were for the most part rude. One woman was very professional but didn't have a clue what she was doing. The car was not cleaned. We brought it back to have scratches buffed out and have the car cleaned. My husband was there 7 hours! I've only touched on the disappointing dealings with this purchase. Needless to say we will never go back there again.
I just picked up my new car at CarMax of Hartford and, I have to say, this was the best car-buying experience I have ever had. I had found a Ford Explorer... that I wanted to see on their lot. I put a hold on the vehicle on their website, very early in the morning. By 9am the same morning, I was contacted by Rocco Toce, the most awesome sales person around. I have bought many vehicles through the years and he is the top of the list! We went to look at the truck and he had it clean and ready for us to test drive. We loved the truck but it just didn’t have all the options that we were looking for. I found the exact Explorer we wanted in New York and Rocco jumped right in to help us transfer the vehicle to Hartford. I have to admit, it IS a leap of faith to pay the transfer fee upfront before even seeing the vehicle in person. Rocco jumped in and took over. He spoke to the other CarMax and had them check every part of the vehicle out. I felt very comfortable after he called and told me the truck sounds good. My Explorer made it to Hartford very quickly and Rocco immediately checked it out and let us know it was perfect! I went to see it yesterday. It was beautiful and in the best shape. Rocco took us through the entire car and never rushed us through anything. He sent our Explorer to detailing while my 2009 Silverado was appraised. I received a fair price for my trade and the deal was smooth and handled professionally by the staff. I’m pretty sure I have not had a better car buying experience. Rocco and the team at Hartford CarMax could not have done more to make our experience the best. I did a ton of research about CarMax like I’m sure everyone does. I drove over an hour to work with them and I am so glad I did. We walked out of there with a great, shiny Ford Explorer and the greatest car buying experience!
I research the car. I contact car max.I purchase a 2015 rx Lexus 350.I got a loan through my bank. It was very bad experienced. They did not walk through... the features with me.I didn’t test drive the car.The finance department were confused.I finally got my car a week later it was not clean rugs in the Trunk.Manager never came out.I did all the leg worked for them.
I was thinking to trade in my car and buy something better for my family. I went there to get my car appraised and the buyer was terrible and didn't want... me watching the process. I was told by another very rude buyer that I was interfering with the process.I apologized so she can shut her loud mouth in the middle of the showroom due to were other customers present. The lack of experience and the negative behavior is a recipe for disaster . I was "THE CUSTOMER" & Carmax is a "RETAILER" simple 101 economics. CUSTOMERS BUY AND RETAILERS SELL. I will never trust or recommend this dealer to anyone due to my experience.
I have purchased my last two cars from the Hartford Carmax but no more. I had every intention of buying a third but not after this. Made two requests to... have specific cars transferred from other dealerships and both requests went unanswered. That was okay maybe an intern was monitoring these requests. I then applied for my financing online, as I always do and received an email from Atticus congratulating me on being approved. Two follow up emails from me to Atticus went unanswered. At this point I decide I'm done with Carmax. I've since purchased a new Tiguan. I then, against my better judgement decide to bring my 2012 C300, purchased from Hartford Carmax back to them for their an appraisal with the intention of selling it back to them. You would think a company that sold you the car would give you a fair price. Well not so much, once they heard that I had not intended on purchasing another car from them the value came in insultingly low. Similar cars on their lot were valued at 3 times what was being offered to me. This is all very unfortunate. If Atticus had gotten back to me I likely would have purchased another car from them and even if the valuation of my car was fair I would consider buying another car from them as I have two sons, but after this mistreatment never going to happen!
Very fair and reasonable. Easy salesperson to deal with. Very knowledgeable.
Thanks to CarMax services Team I can now relax and drive my car. They were so helpful and I trust them will never ever ever go to any dealer for my car... repair. Special thanks to Carolyn for being so nice and understandable.
Had a great buying process until it came to paying for some accrued interest on a trade in. The salesman, Chris Jensen had not been clear that I had to... pay with cash or a debit card, so when it came time to pay the fee, I offered a credit card but was told that it had to be cash or debit. I did not have enough funds in my bank account to pay for the fees to which the salesman immediately became irritated and stated that he would think someone driving the car I did would have enough money in this bank account to pay for the fees. He also began sighing deeply and when he brought me to an atm, came inside to watch me, which was very uncomfortable and inappropriate. There was no apology for this behavior.
