Baker dealerships in Charleston South Carolina

I bought a brand new SUV from Baker and when it was brought to me there is a chip out of the paint and the carpet under both front seats have cuts in them. I traded my car in for this mess of a car and asked to get out the agreement only a few days not a week and get my car back and I was told no and then they would only give me $5,000.00 less than what I paid for the new car after just a few days. They will not do anything about the carpet and they are selling my trade in for a lot more than they gave me for it like $8,000.00 more when I was told it wasn't worth that. They totally got over on me. Its bad when you can not trust people . I would not have given them any stars. If you read this do not make the same mistake I did. Never ever buy or trust any of the Baker dealerships in Charleston South Carolina. I do not know how they sleep at nigh knowing they are ripping people off.

Baker autoglass has terrible customer service. I have had a work order pending for over four months.

Worst experience ever !! I've bought about 25 or more high-end cars in my life. I will never Purchase from Baker again.

Buyer beware

The good: Out-of-state Certified Pre Owned Jaguar purchase. Liked the team, efficient and nice people - got to a good deal and the purchase process was slick. Back office has been great throughout. The bad: Unfortunately these vastly outweigh the positives. Post-purchase customer service from the sales team has been poor, but the two biggest issues are both shady business practices: 1. I discovered after closing (from their own website) that the pricing should have included the $699 closing fee, yet I was charged that in addition to the sale price, and thus it wasn’t quite such a good deal… :-). 2. Only when I arrived to pick up the car was I informed that there was only one key, and it wasn’t possible to give me the second. This felt underhand and unnecessarily turned this into a negative purchase experience.

The service center was ruinous. Tommy Baker's technicians evidenced unskilled labor, deceit, amateurish follow up, and the service manager Hoxie, was rapscallion. I regret putting my vehicle into their care.

Immoral

I dropped of my Land Rover off for a simple oil change, new rear view mirror, new windshield and a check on the back door handle. They sold me a nine-point check and suggested the serpentine belt was warn and should be replaced. Forty miles later, the $400+ serpentine belt had disintegrated and shredded because the technician did not tighten the tensioner after installing the belt. Belt pieces needed to be removed from behind pulleys. It damaged the front crank seal, pull belt tensioner and the power steering pulley shaft had come out of the front of the pump that was now no longer lined up with other pulleys. The $900+ rear view mirror completely blurred within days. The only thing that was done correctly was the windshield installation. Had to have the shredded belt and tensioner pulley removed, front crack seal replaced, and the power steering pump replaced. I contacted the service manager for a full refund and reimbursement of costs for damage and repair and was shockingly challenged and then completely ignored. Additionally, after I got the vehicle back after the first pass the dome lights no longer went on. When I returned after two week to show them the mirror had completely blurred they tried to blame the dome lights not working on the back door. I have owned this Rover for 20 years and have had two top notch Land Rover dealers in Beverly Hills CA and in New York maintain my vehicle to perfection. They also valued my and my families business. In sharing the experience and photos they agree this dealer, Thomas Baker and his team incompetent, untrustworthy, and displayed a severe lack of integrity. These men left me thoroughly disgusted, and financially xxxxx.

Friendly & knowledgeable staff. I love my 2021 GLE, Rola was helpful and found me the exact color combo I wanted. She set expectations about how much time it would take to do the paperwork. The sales manager, Adam, welcomed us to the Baker Motor Company family. Free car washes and they helped me learn all the gizmos on my new car. Highly recommend Baker; their Mercedes staff are so helpful!
