Auto Discovery Hours
They have a good selection of good used cars. American and import, cars, trucks, you name it. Buying process was quick and easy, they are true pros.
I must say that my first initial visit to Auto Discovery was great. The buying process was a bit challenging and I should have counted the costs at that... point and went somewhere else but that was my mistake. Needless to say I went ahead and purchased the vehicle. However, after driving this vehicle for a couple of hours I went back the next day after hearing periodic squeaks and a suspension warning light. The owner (Mike) had no problem getting it checked out by a mechanic that he normally deals with. However, after taking it there four times he finally revealed the news to me that the air suspension strut had a leak in it. I was not happy to say the least. After purchasing this vehicle I wasn't expecting to have a perfect vehicle, after all, it was a 2010. But I wasn't expecting to have to come out of money to pay for this repair and pay a monthly note. After going in to speak with Mike and voice my concerns in a civil manner he became very defensive even asking my wife and I to leave. We were only trying to voice our concerns because we felt that it was unfair to have to pay this repair cost after we showed due diligence to let him know the experience just one day later. He did agree to pay half the bill but didn't feel he should have been responsible for the entire cost. Needless to say we were asked to leave, and we did so gracefully but I can't say that this was a great experience. I guess I would have been satisfied if he would have shown a little grace and tact during our engagement and APOLOGIZE but that was not the case. As much as I would have liked to give a great review I cannot due it with a good conscience. So with that said I would not recommend this dealership. I believe the inventory should be more thoroughly checked out by qualified techs. But as they say "everything that glitters isn't gold". But you live and learn.
Just recently divorced after many years of marriage, I decided it was time to buy the car of my dreams (that I had wanted for MANY YEARS) After months... of research and patiently waiting, I finally found EXACTLY what I had been looking for at Auto Discovery! Not wanting to drive out to Waterford if the car wasn't available, I called 1st thing in the morning. From the initial call until I drove away that night..YES THAT NIGHT!! Joe and Mike were ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!! I was very nervous and an inexperienced car buyer....they helped me every step of the way! From financing to car insurance. They answered all my questions..and I had MANY!! It's been a couple weeks now, and I can honestly say I LOVE MY CAR!! NO REGRETS HERE!! Thank you Auto Discover
2008 DODGE RAM 56,000 MILES. Traveled all the way from Minnesota by plane, he knew how far we were coming...He knew it was costing me $1,000 to come see... it. I said "how's the body, any rust, dents and other stuff I should know about?" He sent me pictures of the corners of the doors with little bubbles under paint, scratch, he said he already had a guy fixing the next day. Rest of body was suppose to be perfect. 1. HE DID NOT TELL ME THAT THE BOX HAD BEEN REPAIRED OVER THE WHEELS, AND POORLY DONE, LOOKED LIKE ORANGE PEEL. Passengers side you could see white thru paint! None of this see-able on pictures. 2. Mike is the owner, he buys and sells for a living, he knew this! 3. Rear tail light was falling out, only held by 1 grommet. Wobbles when you tap it, noise from it when driving it. 4. Roof of the cab has what looks like hail damage, so it had to have been repaired on the rest of the body. 5. Drivers inner door latch was all bent up on the drivers side door, 6. He said the scratches in door would be repaired by the time we got there, THEY WERE NOT.. 7. Sent it to Firestone for a drive-train safety check. Engine oil pan gasket weeping, and pan rusting out. Had broken exhaust hanger. Firestone will not comment on body cause of liability. Only tell me it was not undercoated. 8. This is the ad's picture, it does not look this good in person! 9. Rented a car to drive home, should sue him for costs. I have every thing documented and backed up. Hubby and I left calmly and quietly, we were pissed! My ears were steaming... 10. He wanted $1000 down non refundable, to hold it for 2 days while we flew there..GLAD I TOLD HIM NO, that I was already investing in plane tickets, and he asked me to send him copies of the ticket confirmation and hotel. BEWARE.. BE VERY AWARE... 1 STAR
Auto Discovery had an indoor showroom in Rochester Hills for years and I had purchased several cars from them. Their new outdoor lot in Waterford is beautiful... and offers quality vehicles. Their staff is super friendly and they offer financing for everyone. Trustworthy dealership. Mike and Joe are fantastic!
It was a very easy process. They handled all the financing for me and even were able to help with not so great credit. I felt very comfortable.
I was looking at a Porsche Cayman that Mike had in stock. He seemed cooperative until I brought up a some repairs that were never completed after calling... Porsche dealers in Wisconsin. These dealers were listed on the Car Fax. He indicated that all these repairs were completed. Once I brought this to his attention as part of my price negotiations he became very unfriendly. He basically wanted me out of his show room. Be very cautious when purchasing a vehicle from this dealer
Mike was good to deal with initially but as I was about to leave the dealership I went to place the paperwork in the glove box and the glove box door fell... off. It was obvious that it was broken and repaired by an amateur. I brought it to Mikes attention and he stated he would send a "new" one out (I'm in Chicago). After a month and leaving several messages I called from a local number and my call was answered. I asked where the glove box door was and Mikes reply was that he had not found the door at a junk yard yet but he would keep looking. Four months later still no glove box door. Also when I got the car home and turned the lights on the front dipped headlight warning light came on. I brought this to Mikes attention...Mikes reply was that the lights went on so he didn't see it being an issue. I know why it wasn't an issue to him, the cost to repair it was $800. Be careful when purchasing a car from this guy...typical used car salesmen.
Beautiful indoor warehouse, excellent customer service, great choice of vehicles. If they dont have a car in their inventory they will find you the car... of your dreams at a price you can afford!!
Let me first start by saying the initial experience that I had with Mike was great, very nice guy all the way up until we had purchased the vehicle. Unfortunately,... after our sale the vehicle that we had purchased had slid downhill in regards to repairs, and even the repairs that were said to be made prior to the vehicle being listed through his dealership are now having to be re-repaired (Brakes in specific.) I have had the car in for several repairs averaging one trip to the shop per 6 weeks, and with BMW's, you can imagine that this has been rather pricey. I had sent a few follow-up messages to Mike to let him know of the experience that I have been having, not to gouge them back for anything but to simply say what was going on and in the sense of business to be more up front with the vehicles. Repairs such as "temporary leather cover" are now flaking off of holes that are in the seat (not viewable upon purchase,) temporary paint cover up (since washed/eroded away) on the body are all things that I have dealt with. I say this with the understanding that as a purchaser maybe you should take more attention to detail and try to really grind down on the vehicle, and I do understand that a sale is a sale for dealers, but when the outcome will provide a detriment in the future for the purchaser, you are putting your organization in a bind by doing a dishonest service.
