I recently bought a BMW from Capital Auto and it was one the best car buying experienced I have ever lived through. The salesperson was very keen to make... sure he gets me the right car that fits my needs and budgets instead of trying to sell me anything. Everyone at Capital Auto was extremely friendly and helpful, I will go back again for certain and would recommend my family and friends to purchase their future vehicles from Capital Auto.
Bought my second car from Capital, and couldn't be happier. The first time was for my Porsche Cayenne, which was easy as I was coming from out of state.... I drove from New York after putting a deposit over the phone and looking at their ads online. The transaction was smooth, simple, and the staff (Ed) was very helpful and knowledgeable. He told me a ton of stuff and hidden features on the car, and recommended some great places for future service (despite all the receipts from the local Porsche dealer that came with the car). My second time, was last month when I needed a new car for my wife after moving back into the area. I dealt with Dara this time, and he was super passionate, and really wanted to make sure I loved the car I was buying. I wanted to get a ML mercedes, but I ended up with a 2011 Jeep Overland. I love it more than my porsche, and am very happy with the car. Thanks to the family owned guys who have helped me hours on the phone and email to make sure I;m getting something I can be very happy with. Thanks Ed and Dara!
My daughter was looking for a 5 series BMW...reasonable in price, great condition with low mileage, great customer service and a decent interest rate.... I found everything at Capital Auto! Ed was extremely nice, professional, caring. He had a little bit of a challenge but worked hard in securing a fantastic deal for her....best car loan and auto transaction EVER. The car was immaculate, price was great and he was wonderful. Not only was nice, he was very patient as we live over 3 hours away and were unable to get on the road until after 6pm. So what did Ed do, he said, "No problem, I will wait." We arrived at the dealership almost 10pm that night. He was waiting there patiently with everything ready and we were on our way in no time. I'm not easy to impress but I was very impressed with his level of service, quality and professionalism. He has gained two customers for life and she loves her new 2007 BMW. Thanks ED!!!!!!
BLUF - I don't trust the seller anymore. I had a generally poor experience purchasing a used 2003 BMW X5 from Capital Auto. I am generally a very cautious... buyer - and I since I had never purchased from Capital Auto before, they could tell I was a little concerned since I was writing a check, but not taking the vehicle with me (during the test drive I found an issue with the starter, which they said they would fix, so I couldn't take it with me). Trust us they said, and while still a little apprehensive, I wrote the check and left. The problem being that it didn't make it home from Virginia to Maryland (about 60 miles). I picked it up in Silver Springs from one of their guys, and then I stopped at work on the way home; when I tried to leave, it wouldn't start again. I called and spoke with Ed, and he said he would take care of it. A guy came and towed the vehicle back to VA, and they resolved a blown fuse, and then I drove back down to VA to pick it up. The problem now is on my way back home, the warning light came on. I made it home this time, and called Ed back again. Ed went on at length about how they will fix this - this isn't how they do business. I thought that of course they don't want this either - it makes them look bad, so I waited for a response on how they were going to fix this. A week went by, and several emails, however I didn't get an answer back on how this was going to be resolved. I did some extensive troubleshooting and spent hours on the internet to learn that in all probability, the problem was a blown alternator (which would also explain the blown fuse which was the first issue). I called Ed again, and told him this, and he said that they would take care of it. Meanwhile, I don't have a usable car. A week and a half goes by, and I no longer have any faith that this is going to be resolved, when I try one more time and gave Ed a call - he stated that he was just waiting to hear back from the guy he bought the car from. I decided that whether or not they were going to resolve this, I needed my car working, so I went online and bought a reconditioned Bosch alternator for $450. I called and told Ed what I did, and he said that he heard back from the seller, and that he was going to put a check in the mail ($500) when he sent me my license plates. Great - I didn't mind the work - I enjoyed learning more about the car, and lets face it, you don't buy a 2003 BMW without expecting to do a little work (just not work that results from driving it home from the dealer). My license plates showed up, but there wasn't a check, so once again, I called Ed. He said he just forgot, and that he would put a check in the mail that day. I never received the check, and I sent them emails requesting a status, but have never heard back from them. So while yes, I see the irony in trusting someone who tells me that the check is in the mail - I no longer trust or will purchase from them in the future. Even if they had been honest and told me that they weren't going to cover it, because it was too much between the first and second (root cause?) issues, that would have been better than waiting two weeks for them to do something that I could have done the first weekend and not been out a car for two weeks. Then I wouldn't think of them as dishonest, and wouldn't have written this... I have the emails if anyone is interested.
I purchased a 2011 BMW 328xi from this dealer in 2014. The best thing about this dealership is that the salesmen are not at all pushy. I had a very pleasant... experience working with them. I believe we were able to negotiate a fair price for the vehicle I purchased. They had a nice selection of luxury automobiles. Overall I would highly recommend this dealership.
Called to inquiry about a car and the salesman was very nice and patient. Unfortunately the car was sold before I could see it but would recommended this... dealer.
Smaller facility but worth a look around. Nice, quality vehicles at good, honest, fair prices. These guys were a pleasure to work with.
I bought a used BMW 325xi at this dealership. My first car, a VW, was a car with leaking issues, and it costed a lot of money over the years. So, when... I went to DC shopping for my second car, I was really carful, and I'm glad that I chose this dealership. The guy I contacted, Peter, was very friendly and let me take my time to throughly check out every aspect of the car. I was also able to test drive the car for nearly half an hour. In short, I was able to get a car with great value and quality from this dealer. I definitely recommend this dealership and would shop there next time.
We bought a 2002 BMW 330ci from this dealer. Car was clean had a few small defects. Overall it was a nice car, dealer did not try to hide any of the minor... flaws on the car. They seemed to be straight forward and worked out a fair deal with us on price. The owner came in on a Sunday for us to see the car which was very nice of him. If they have another car we are looking for I would buy from him again.
