Buying my 2012 xc90 was not a problem. They gave me a fair deal on it. That's where my good reviews end. After a few thousand miles, there was a message... about "anti-skid service needed." I called the service department, and they said it wasn't a big deal and to bring my car in. They did a software update. A few days later, the message came back up. I called them again, and they set up an appt. the day of the appt, the message went away, so I called them to let them know. They said that they couldn't do anything about it unless the message was still there, and not to worry about it. The message has popped up numerous times and gone away. So, each scheduled service that I've had, i asked them about the anti-skid message. The only thing they did was a software update. This has happened about seven times. I recently moved and I had my car serviced for ~32000 miles. Everything seemed to come back fine. About two weeks later, the message came up, but this time I had two more messages: my AWD needed service and the anti-spin had turned off. I called the local dealer and brought it in. I told them that the anti-skid message has appeared about 7 times. The service manager looked surprised and asked if I had it repaired there. I told her "no." I then told her about the software updates that received each time. She told me that the first time that message appeared, they would have done the software update, but the second time that it happen they would've checked to see if a part needed to be replaced. They ordered a piece to see if that was the source of the problem. When they started the repair, they found that some filter was in bad shape, and then they checked on my AWD, which ended up being shot. Now,, they have to replace the entire AWD and they had to replace the malfunctioning piece (can't remember what she called it). She also told me that this was the result of the original problem. Thank goodness I got the extended warranty, because the AWD alone was $4000. Wondering if the service department is inept, lazy or scamming. By all means, buy your car from them, but don't use their service department!!
