Lots of Wasted Time and Money Unfolding Dishonesty
Contacted 'lead truck sales man' Tim Mallard Dec 6th 2019 concerning a new dump truck purchase for by the end of the year, and had 43 emails resulting in four trucks recommended by Tim Mallard. I very distictly and carefully told Mr Mallard that I would have to travel 4 hours, and firmly notified of the intent to purchase a 2018 F-750 dump truck, that was suggested to me by Tim Mallard. Upon arrival with an employee, and after having hosted meals and the overnight stay, we arrive to the dealership early to test drive the dump truck only to find that the truck did not dump, and a mechanical error code was shown on the dash. Tim did admit this was a repo vehicle after I began to ask more direct questions. Tim did have a mechanic look over the truck AFTER we had arrived, found the issues, and it took us 3 more hours to have the mechanic say it had an electrical issue and he could begin working on it. No thanks. So we gave Tim Mallard a chance to price an alternate vehicle he had in stock on the lot, and he did so with the claim it would be 'fleet priced' based on for rebate. The total price came to within $100 of our local Ford truck dealership back in Asheville NC. So in summary, I've paid an employee for 2 days time, driven 460 miles, stayed at a hotel and paid for 6 meals out of town to find out the truck being advised to me had mechanical issues, and wasn't ready, then in giving Tim Mallard of Capital Ford a chance to redeem themselves in pricing an alternate vehicle, they priced it the same as a dealer I only shopped once, that was my local dealership. Knowing the damage inflicted monetarily to me, I would have expected at least a clear $1,500 to $2,000 over another dealer's first price anyways. Nope, same price. Side notes; when I'm buying a $90k or $70k truck, I don't expect to hear the F*** bomb, nor be called 'Dude' as I discuss the vehicles with Ford sales staff. I especially do not appreciate my time being wasted, and the irritation shown by the salesman Tim Mallard to myself AFTER I found bugs with the initial sale, and/or asked any questions about it prior to me making this large of a purchase.

Jonnie Miller is the man!
I was going to Alabama to buy a new truck. I got a tip from a friend to drop a line to Capitol. I got a call from Johnnie. I am old school no B.S. kind of guy. It took me 15 minutes to do with Johnnie what took 2 days with the dealer in Alabama. Johnnie beat the price and the service was out of this world. I had stopped buying new cars from dealers because of the never ending back and fourth. Johnnie is a gem and I will be back and my friends will be as well!

Was wanting to buy a new F-150
After settling on a price for a new F-150 loaded and talking 3 times on the phone, getting a out the door price, we drove over 4 hours to capital ford. with check in hand. Upon arrival, we waited 20 mins trying to get help before anyone would even acknowledge we were there. After finally getting to talk with the sales rep we had talked with several times on the phone, including right before we left home, he acted like he had never talked to us. Finally he showed us the F-150 we had agreed on. After a test drive, we decided it was the right vehicle for us. A finance person came to us after signing a few papers and told us the only way we could buy the vehicle at the price agreed on , paying up front, was to finance it through them, which would of costed us $9,000 more. I did not blame the finance rep for the mistake, but asked to speak directly to the sales rep we had spoken with 3 times over the phone. I was told, he had left for the day and we either paid the extra amount or left without the vehicle. I asked for a supervisor and was denied talking to one. I was told to either take it or leave it. We drove back to our state and bought a new vehicle the next day for $12,500 less and got a more equipped truck. I have called capital several times to talk with a supervisor to get a explanation and have yet after a year to receive a call. This place will scam you if you are not a local. Buyer Beware.
