From beginning to end my experience with Volkswagen of
From beginning to end my experience with Volkswagen of West Islip, sunrise imports was terrible. Let me just start by saying, I was looking for a very specific car across the entire country and unfortunately, this was the only group that had the exact car that I wanted. From the general manager, Vito never calling me back, never following up on anything, to the sales people lying, and telling you that even if I was to walk in and pay cash, I would have to go through their financing. You see it over and over on the reviews where they try to tell customers that the only way they can sell you a car is if you use their financing. That obviously isn’t the truth, in the packet as you’re signing everything you have to sign off on a form saying that your own financing was available. At this point, my credit was already ran, and everything was already done, so I didn’t want to go through the hassle of using my own financing, instead I just refinanced everything as soon as I got the car, making sure that the dealer never got any credit for using their Ponzi scheme bank Another issue I had was I bought this car out of state and had a company do a full inspection. Upon inspecting it, they never noticed the passenger fender was damaged, and after I received the car and transport, the transport company confirmed the front fender piece was damaged upon pick up, and the car dealer cannot prove in any pictures that it was already damaged when they had it. The company that I hired to do the inspection told me that if they missed it, they would claim it under their insurance, so I reached out to Volkswagen of West Islip 15 times just to get the original pictures so I can prove to the car inspection company that the damage was already there and they just happened to miss it so they can pay for it with their insurance. The fact that nobody at Volkswagen of West Islip would even respond to me, makes me feel that this damage happened between the time that I bought it, and when the truck picked it up and Volkswagen of West Islip should have their insurance pay for it. They never disclosed there was only one key, this is a total cost of about $1000 to order a new one and have it programmed. I know when the person traded the car into them they knocked them down on the price because it was missing a key fob, and they hid the fact from me that it didn’t have the extra key fob. It only came with one whenever car comes with two. So between the damage on the car fender, being absolute liars about using their financing, and missing the key fob, I don’t see any other way to resolve anything with horrible dealers like this other than a civil lawsuit

Thank you for your feedback. We will use the information you provided to continue to train and get better. We understand your frustration and this is why we suggested you come to the dealership and not have the car shipped. It is unfortunate that you decided to pay directly for transportation using a open trailer. Our dealer does not handle shipping for any client at any time for this reason and when shipping a vehicle anywhere in or out of state that's something you have to deal the shipping company directly. Again we are sorry your vehicle was damaged during transport and maybe they lost the second key as well. We suggest you reach out to your shipping company and request the shipping proof of damages from when the vehicle was picked up compared to when it was delivered to you. Best of luck in your future purchases j.levine82
Vehicle was not damaged in transport, as stated above, at some point between purchasing the vehicle and when it was picked up by transport, the damage was done. Most likely on your lot Not shocked, you guys can’t even read the reviews

I called this VW of West Islip dealer about the ID Buzz
I called this VW of West Islip dealer about the ID Buzz they advertised online for $47,996. Since I'm out of state, I asked for the out-the-door price. First, “Mariah” tells me they only provide OTD prices if you're at the showroom. But she passes me to Kate Jordan, who immediately hands me off to “Greg”. Greg also waffles on pricing, saying he needs to talk to the general manager and will get back to me. Hours later, I get a text saying they will beat any offer I get in writing from another dealer. Are you kidding me? Why did we all waste each other’s time if you’re just going to run a bait ad, advertise a low price, and never honor it? There are plenty of other VW dealers… go to them and don’t waste your time here with these fools.

Thanks for your review. Unfortunately sir you requested opt-out of out text before we could even work a deal for you sir. Our dealership did not ever say we would not honor our current listed price. To be clear here you were calling us because nobody can beat our pricing and that's why you reached out half way across the country. We disagree with your statements and have the texts/emails to prove this is a fake review. If you have any further questions you can reach out to me directly at Vito@ippautogroup.com
Thank you for your response. Please provide the "Junk Fees" you are talking about when you have some time.
To someone reading this and considering VW of West Islip: I am real, my review is true, and I recommend you read other people’s reviews on their pricing/finance/junk fee practices . Buyer Beware.
Start with $995 “dealer fee” Greg disclosed after I asked three times. More importantly, I asked for an out the door price, but never got one. Plenty of more looming fees I’m sure.
DO NOT buy a car from this dealership!
DO NOT buy a car from this dealership! Purchased a used car from them and they never gave me a bill of sale, never explained any part of the purchase price AND charged $4000 more for the car than what they advertised and what we we told we would pay even after providing proof of what the price should have been Now they refuse to answer my questions about the price and have made excuses as to why NO ONE has responded to my question which I have called texted emailed and left voicemails about every day since we purchased it DO NOT trust anyone at this dealership

D, We are delighted to hear that we were able to match you with the right car and within the price range you were looking for. Have fun showing off your new car!
Beware of hidden fees!
Beware of hidden fees!!! They advertise a false listing price which assumes a % down payment among other things. Once you’re seated they hit you with the “btw”… they think they’re being transparent by adding the “disclaimer” in the description, but they’re really just trying to hook you in with the “low advertised price”… disgusting business practice!!!

The interion of the car was not clean underneath the seats so they cleaning was not thorough either

Thank you for your feedback yogad. We reviewed our database and don't see you purchased a vehicle from us in the last 3 years. I would like to hear from you about who's name the cars under and when it was purchased so i can try to help. My email is Vito@ippautogroup.com
I would avoid at all costs.
I would avoid at all costs. I called to confirm pricing before driving to the dealership and was told they would honor the Cars.com cheaper listed price versus their website. I was later hung up on while trying to figure out why the price is $5,000 higher than the online listing without tax. Once there they would not honor Cars, com price until Joe the manager got involved who was helpful. After negotiating the price for hours which was filled with small print and hidden charges (a $1995 payment, $695 dealer prep fee $900 reconditioning fee and another ~$300 in dealer processing fees) they tried to sneak all the money back in at the end and claimed they made a mistake and forgot to remove the down payment. At the financing stage a rude manager knowingly lied to me multiple times stating the loan isn't amortized interest because it's a "simple interest loan" and that longer term loans are lower interest rates and forced us into a 72 month term for a higher kickback to the dealership. Tried to say he can't run the numbers again for a 60 month term because it will hurt our credit knowing that hits are compiled into one inquiry within a specific time frame. After all this he also tried to force a extended warranty and continued to state WE are wasting his time.....

This is a false representation of what transpired from a party who was not involved in the purchase or at our location. We are not perfect as no dealership is but we do not agree to these false claims by an uninvolved party.
Everything I’ve stated is in fact the truth. I wouldn’t have had to step in from the sidelines if multiple employees hadn’t been so blatantly trying to take advantage of my brother, who’s a first-time car buyer. Your response to my review only proves this was a real and appalling incident for the readers of this website, so thank you for that!
If you go to VW of Islip, bring a lie detector.
If you go to VW of Islip, bring a lie detector. Every notion of dealing with a used car flim flam dealer is right here. Went to see a used BMW. Lifted the hood. The engine was pitted and the plastic engine cover shook. BUYER BEWARE
