I bought a 2013 Mustang GT California Special from Joey. At the time there were only 4 of these cars for sale on the entire east coast. I am not a tire... kicker or dreamer and he treated me as such. He let me take the car on a good test drive so I could make sure it met my specs. We came to a good price and I returned 2 days later with the cash and picked up my car. I have owned it for 6 months now and have had ZERO problems. I chose this dealership based solely on the car. The experience was a bonus. I saved thousands compared to a bigger dealership and did not have to deal with all the runaround. Joey is an old school type of dealer and I like that.
After shopping around for a car for a few weeks I came across Joey at Auto North. I had done some research and knew the car and price range. Joey offered... a very good deal without pressure. The 2004 Matrix I bought was cleaner than a new car, no rust and a car fax report. After getting the run around from some other dealers it was really nice dealing with Joey.
I arrived in town to visit my son going to college. His car was starting to look like four wheels and board, so I suggested we go car shopping. We went... a few places in town and the service and attitude was second-rate. Then we went to AutoNorthVermont and I was overwhelmed at the positive attitude, professionalism, and customer service. My son was more than overwhelmed, he was smiling from ear to ear as he drove his car off the lot. My son calls me regularly to tell me how happy is with his car.
I was looking for a Honda Element and was getting the big run around from our local dealers. I stumbled upon this dealership through a Craigslist ad and... was surprised to find just the kind of Vermont business I wanted to deal with. No fancy office, no hard sell, and a rotating inventory of desirable autos that moves faster than good maple sap on a warm spring day. Joey, the owner, was extremely helpful in locating a car for me that has not even been made since 2011. While he had one on his lot when I arrived, he assured me he could get the model I wanted if I could be patient. Not 2 weeks later I got a call and went over to see the exact car I was looking for, and in amazing condition. I also received a lot of valuable honest information from a salesman who saw that as a benefit to me, very rare in this day and age. Not only that, but I paid a very fair price with no haggling and back and forth. I have, and will continue to recommend this hidden gem to anyone in need of a reliable pre owned car, and those like me who value the information and opinions of industry veterans. Outstanding all the way around. Thanks Auto North.
I test drove a car from Joey on Wednesday, it drove great and seemed like a good deal. Booked it in with my mechanic on Thursday for a pre-purchase inspection... and everything checked out. Brought the car back to Joey, settled on a price and told him I'd be back on Friday. Had my wife drive me to the bank, picked up cash based on the price discussed, and had her drop me off at the dealership. Halfway through doing the paperwork I noticed that the price was not what we had discussed the day before. Joey sort of freaked out and said there was no way he would have agreed to sell the car for what he told me the day before. Said he'd rather pour gas on it and burn it to the ground than sell it for that much... and threw plenty of other colorful language my way in the process. He did agree to split the difference on the price, which would have been a totally fair deal for the car, but the way he handled the whole discussion was such a turnoff that I walked out. I told him I didn't appreciate being yelled at or sworn at, and he said it was his place and that he could do whatever he wanted to. At that point, I left, even though I wanted the car. There is just no way I could do business with somebody who handles themselves like that when a customer is there, with cash in hand, to buy a car.
Joey is a true New Yorker, short, direct, to the point. He may come off as arrogant, impatient, but I think the man has ADHD. My experience was actually... wonderful. Joey had two Rav 4s, an 09 and a 10. He didn't push for either one but thought the 09 might be better for me. I went with the other an be he was more than helpful. After being told i could bring it anywhere to be checked, take it home for the whole night and day and bring it back, I knew Joey wasn't a shister. After my purchase, he threw in 4 gently used studded winter snow tires and after seeing the fuel gage near empty, gave a 20 to me to through the window and said, drive safe and thank you. I'm so happy!!! Thank you, Joey!
Best TWO deals ever on used cars here for me. Just sold one four years later for what I paid for it here at Auto North Vt. Still driving the second one... 30,000 trouble free miles later. Thx Joey!
Where to start? Car was advertised as "perfect" - "clean" - "no problems". It was FILTHY inside, and the outside looked like it had been touched up to... cover rust. We took it for a ride and there was a horrible clunking in the back end. The owner took offense when we asked about it and said "you went over a pothole - nothing wrong with that car!" - well, it clunked over perfectly flat roads. We asked about it - he said (very sarcastically) "do you see a lift around here? My mechanic looked at it, and it's fine". Unfortunately, his (the owner) arrogance was a total turnoff - he was very full of himself and bragged all the time we were there. Then, to make matters worse, I took a fall in his garage (he pointed me to the rest room), and all he could say to my husband was "she's fine - she fell slowly". I'm not fine - my wrist, arm and shoulder are extremely sore - he had no concern about any of it. I would not recommend this place.
