We purchased a Jeep from Farrish back in 2014.

We purchased a Jeep from Farrish back in 2014. At the same we also purchased a Lifetime Max Care warranty. This warranty is amazing and covers thousands of parts for a set deductible. We also negotiated having the jeep lifted at the dealership with an OEM part to keep the warranty in tact. Years later, to our surprise, we find out that the dealership placed a performance part on the jeep at the time of purchase and that voids the Lifetime Max Care warranty for this part!! Evidently the entire lift was a performance part voiding the warranty on this particular part which is home to your steering stabilizer. Farrish was contacted after the steering stabilizer failed and we found out that this part was a performance part and not covered under warranty. After many conversations the part was replaced…. With another performance part…. This steering stabilizer has failed AGAIN! Not under warranty again because of the part!!! We paid for a lifetime warranty and with the guidance of the dealership sales team paid to have Farrish, a certified Jeep dealer, lift the Jeep to ensure the lift held up to the requirements of the warranty. Farrish then, without conveying to us, placed a part on our Jeep that did the very thing they told us lifting the jeep outside of the dealership would do….. void the warranty. We are waiting for the dealership to right this wrong. They keep contacting other places (the warranty company and Mopar) to see what those companies can do to help us. These companies didn’t make this error. These companies didn’t do fraudulent business. Farrish did! But they won’t own it. Unacceptable business practice.

Dishonest dealership

Worst dealership ever!! Stay away at all costs management is slimy and dishonest Kyle in finance is arrogant nasty person I had a bad experience there and wrote a negative review and they totally lied in there response to mak them selves sound good Don’t buy here!!!

Dealer response

Hi, Bill Grannis. We are disappointed to see another negative review from you. We tried to get your wife approved on a vehicle but due to poor credit and a very high DTI (debt to income) ratio, we were not able to. We could not get you approved with any bank that we have access to. We did everything we could to attempt to help you including discounting the vehicle etc. You were quite heated in the showroom when we were not able to get your wife approved and were rude and disrespectful to our staff, specifically to Steven and then to Kyle. So much so at one point you apologized to us for your behavior. You then threatened that if we didn't sell you a car, you'd go across the street to Tysons to purchase the same or similar vehicle, not a problem. As we could not get an approval from the bank, you seemed to take that as us refusing to sell you car, which is obviously not the case. According to your response posted to your other negative review, it looks like you later got approved on a more expensive Challenger at another Dealership, that's great! We hope whatever dealership you are now working with will treat you as you'd like to be treated.

Must say my sales man Steve was awesome the whole process

Must say my sales man Steve was awesome the whole process but unfortunately the manager Kyle was arrogant and truly misarble to deal with obviously did not want to sell me a car that I drove three hours to buy with trade in hand that would have been good for dealership Sad thing for them I still see they did not sell either of the two cars I was looking at t/a challenger hopefully owner sees this and realizes Kyle is bad for the dealership I did feel bad not buying the car from Steve because he was a pleasure to deal with

Dealer response

Hi, Bill Grannis. We are disappointed to see this review. Yes, you indeed drove three hours to come look at our inventory and attempt to purchase a vehicle (months ago). We tried to get your wife approved on a vehicle but due to poor credit and a very high DTI (debt to income) ratio, we were not able to. We could not get you approved with any bank. A day later, you came back to our store, after visiting Tysons, stating you decided not to buy the vehicle, where more likely, they couldn't approve you either. We didn't sell you a car that day for the same reason we could not two days prior, we could not get you approved. We wish you the best of luck.

Consumer response

Poor business practice

I purchased a 2023 Pacifica from Farrish. They didn't have what I wanted on the lot, but did have one coming in. We negotiated what I considered an acceptable price and left a deposit. When the car came, they asked for almost an additional $500. Eventually I agreed to pay half of it. Then came the ordeal of paying for it. I did not finance with them, but had to execute a financing application "for them to capture my information". After 3 hours we finally were able to complete the sale. Salesman was fine, but the rest of the show was poor at best. Unlikely that I will use this dealership again.

Good Prices

Out of state. Drove in for the car and the price. Uday was the salesman and he was beyond great. Management less so. Want you to use their credit at high rate. They caved on that and worked a way to get the deal to happen. Also not flexible on their prep charge. So FEES: add $889 to used purchase price and $2500 to price for a new car if comparing prices in other states - destination charge and prep are NOT included in listed price. BUT I did BUY from them cause it was a good deal. Just know that going in.

Worth the Trip

Steven Monaghan was a responsive and super competent salesman, backed up by the rest of the staff at Farrish, which made the car-buying experience more enjoyable and less stressful. Steven and his sales manager worked hard to make the numbers come out, reaching a deal that pleased everyone. Would recommend Steven and the dealership to anyone.

Service Department Scam

This review is for the service department. I have been a loyal customer to Farrish Service for my 2018 Chrysler Pacifica. My most recent trip they ran a report that told me my brake pads 'need immediate attention' and they were measuring 3mm. Front, back, rotors, etc. This was approximately $1,500 of work. I took it to a AAA garage as a back-check and they told me all brake pads are in good condition and do NOT need to be replaced. I have lost all trust in this service provider.

Dealer response

Joanna, thank you for reaching out and letting us know about your concern. Your vehicle was inspected by one of our Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram certified technicians who measured your rear brakes at 3mm. At 2mm, you would fail VA Safety Inspection. On these rear brakes, we did recommend "needs immediate attention" based on the above. The front brakes measured 5mm and we recommended "requires future attention" as shown on the inspection report. I'd like to invite you back to the store so we can show you these measurements first hand. Please let me know if there is a time or day you'd like to come by so we may restore your trust in us or if you have any other questions, don't hesitate to contact me- Dan Farley, Operations Director, 703-273-0200, danfarley@farrishcars.com
