One Sunny day in February, I decided to check out a car at Bob Rohrman's Nissan that I saw on truecar.com, I called ahead for a sales rep to locate the vehicle for a test drive. Mike Fields was incredibly efficient and had the car pulled up by the time we arrived. I clearly explained that I did not want to buy a car that day, with the year and the mileage on the 2015 Nissan Murano SL I just wanted to be reassured there was no dead body found in the car. All joking aside, as much as I wanted to buy that sweet ride that day, and as much as Mike and his manager wanted to seal the deal, I needed to check out other dealers affiliated with the Costco Auto Program since they recently started selling used vehicles, as opposed to them just selling the new models. Regardless of the Arlington nissan not being with that Costco program, they had the car I wanted. There was no way in heck I was going to drive out to the St. Charles Nissan to go through the auto program. Every other brand was pale in comparison. And, they practically held a gun to my head to purchase that day regardless of how many times I said that I didn't plan to buy it on the day of the test drive. I've always been partial to Nissan's because of the safety features of my Frontier Crew Cab 10 years ago saved my life. The day of the sale and forgive me if I got your name wrong, Tina a fellow sales woman/trainer/team leader of the sales team, assisted Mike showing him a more effective way of working with whatever program is used to fill in all the details. I am really sorry lady who helped that I can't remember if I'm right, because the lady that answers the telephone is very pleasant as well...whomever, you sit in front of Mike, it's been a week of driving in happiness. Thanks for your help! I'm glad to be part of the training experience. Now, with as much as a struggle people go through with the dragged out process of financing, RJ made it seemingly painless. He clearly explained the difference between the warranties offered and calculated the best amount to put down to get a reasonable monthly payment for the next 6 years of my life. Matt in the service department is officially my go to guy for any problems from here on out. He programmed my navigation system and sadly it did die, everyone is dumbfounded by this, but he ordered a brand new one and said he's going to let me know when it comes in so i can use their courtesy car offered for as long as the repair will take. Take as long as you need to because I want it done right and I have all the faith in the world that Matt will follow through with that request. Thank you Bob Rohrman's Nissan of Arlington Heights for being just around the corner, with the best options and staff that works together for the best service around. I wouldn't have been so exhausted from car shopping if I just went with my gut and bought it the first day. It was hard to walk away, but felt if it was still there 4 days later, it was meant to be. -Maureen F.

Whenever I’ve had my car serviced, it’s critical that I have a “Go To” person that I can trust without question This is especially true when I bring in my car for service at a dealership. From the first time I brought my 350Z to the service department at Arlington Nissan, Al Thacker has been my Go To guy. When Al says I need work, I know it’s needed. When Al says this is the lowest price for the work, I’ve seen him do a lot of work to come up with the bottom line. If I need a loaner, Al has one waiting when I come in. If I can’t get to the service department before it closes, Al has often waited until I can. On top of all this, Al is a pleasure to deal with. Arlington Nissan is indeed fortunate to have Al as a member of its service department team.

Essentially the issues I'm going to describe below fall under the category of a service department that are so comfortable with being deceptive that it doesn't even seem to register as deceptive anymore but rather a standard of practice that seems to be working for them. I called to see if I could get in for a simple oil change over my lunch break and was told they'd have me out in less than an hour. Once I arrived I was told it would be an hour and a half because they had a rush right before me. I called maybe fifteen minutes before showing up. Well I was already there so I waited and over an hour later was informed my vehicle needed an expensive repair. In no uncertain terms I was also told that they would give me a loaner. Over half an hour later, no loaner was available and they encouraged me to take their shuttle home then they would get me a loaner later in the day. Later in the day, I had heard nothing from the service department so I called them. I was told that I will get a call back in less than 5 minutes. Over half an hour later I'm told that my car will be ready by 9 and so I don't need a rental car. A shuttle can come get me tonight or tomorrow. My kid had a school performance (I have no car so I had to bum us a ride) and I tell them I will try and come after but I might not be available until morning. They say to call at 7 am if I don't come in tonight. Good thing I didn't go in late to get my car because they never let me know that they didn't finish. It wasn't ready the next morning when I called at 7:20 (got my call returned at 8:30). Now it won't be ready until 10. Twenty minutes later (8:50) they call again and I could now have a loaner if I wanted to shuttle in. I say I already had to move my morning back (again) and that if it is ready at 10 then I have no need to borrow their car. Not surprisingly, when I am shuttled in the car still wasn't ready and the gentleman who had been my point person brings me directly to his service manager who tried to talk circles around me and his agent all the while letting me know that he would have accommodated me if only I had informed them of my schedule. Apparently I didn't keep them in the loop about my schedule. He made numerous offers to give me a loaner but just dismissed my issues regarding the service I was given. When I said I just want my car so I can leave, he thinks I mean I am never coming back. Now he says that he has no need to accommodate me any further if I'm no longer going to be a customer. Now I like my 8 year old Nissan but it's going to need to be replaced sooner rather than later. I've also got a daughter who will need a car in a few years. I think I'm going to have to go somewhere else in the future because this is just not how I expect to be treated by a business who potentially gets tens of thousands of my hard earned dollars. It's one thing to mess up, even to mess up a few times, but the casual way in which this deceptive practice seems to be a standard of practice is is bothersome. To then try and convince me that the problem is on my end is reprehensible.

The following was my Arlington Nissan experience: I spoke with Kevin Friday evening prior to making the 1 hour drive in and specifically stated my intentions. I asked, Kevin, I am looking at purchasing this vehicle at around 18k so that when all is said and done we walk out of there paying 20k out the door (title, plates, taxes). Is this a possibility I would rather be bold and up front so no one wastes their time? To which I was told "Let me check, Oh yes! of course, I'm not supposed to say this but we are very motivated to make sales this month" followed by more sales tactics and misleading information. This brings us to Saturday, where I made the hour drive to your dealership, upon arrival I was immediately handed off by Rashad to Yesenia. She was very polite and assisted us with the test drive. The smell of cigarette smoke was strong and instant upon entering the vehicle. After our test drive and taking the strong odor of cigarettes into consideration I offered 16k for the car expecting some kind of counter offer. At this point a gentlemen in his early 30s in a light gray suit came over and spoke in a very condescending manner to us, stating that the days of negotiating are gone and etc. He even went as far as to say, "Is truecar or kbb going to buy you your car?" VERY unprofessional. I would have typically responded back and said something in return but I was so taken back that I couldn't respond. We left right after this, we discussed the situation outside and decided, since we drove an hour in might as well just make our final offer of 20k. We re-entered your dealership but the gentlemen in the suit could not be bothered enough to greet us, rather Yesenia delivered the message and she returned with a declination. I am also currently waiting to receive my license in the mail as Yesenia "left it on the copier" and failed to return it to me. In her defense she did call and let me know what happened and that she would be sending it overnight. This by far, has been the most negative experience I have endured at ANY dealership. The lack of communication and professionalism is obvious from the repeated calls/emails, treatment of potential customers, and lack of disclosure of information. In speaking with Yesenia I expressed my disappointment about my experience and told her my plans to post this review (exactly like this email) online. She tried to talk me out of it but it just felt disingenuous. I hope that this communication and online reviews to be posted; are viewed by the right people in charge. Finally, exactly as the condescending gentlemen alluded to, web presence is huge and if your potential customers are treated this way; others will be made aware.

We wanted to let everyone know the wonderful experience we had with the Arlington Nissan service department yesterday. . Al Thaker (Asst. Service Manager) went above and beyond in so many ways. He repeatedly drove with us in order to hear the rattle we were hearing when service did not hear it on a test ride. It was a hit or miss noise we would hear. Once he heard it he would not stop trying things until he identified a loose luggage rack pole. We were so happy once it was tightened and disappeared that we had to drive back just to let him know. He did other things as well that were truly impressive. We will never go anywhere else for our Pathfinder. We hope he gets recognized for his wonderful customer service.

The worst customer service ever, not only are they rude but a bunch of liars as well. Drove an hour in Friday evening rush traffic just to get to this dealership, only to find out that I was lied to regarding the advertised price of a vehicle. They couldn't just state over the phone about the "incentives" that were included in the advertised price that almost nobody qualifies for! This has been the most pathetic experience I've had trying to purchase a new vehicle. I'm glad I took my business elsewhere. Do yourself a favor and do the same thing. STAY AWAY

My husband and I were looking for a bigger car for our growing family and I found the Pathfinder online. When I called them to make sure the car was available they were so polite to have the car waiting for us when we got there. The entire process from start to finish was the most relaxing pleasant experience we ever had. We also had our 2 small kids with us and it was great. They were very professional explained everything took care of our trade, loan process, and it did not take all day like my previous car buying experiences. If your looking for great professional friendly service look no further than Arlington Nissan and they have amazing deals that are hard to beat.
