Nice, clean location.

Nice, clean location. Friendly staff. The problem is how they circumvent their advertised price falsely. They advertise an "adjusted price" that is discounted around two thousand dollars, that's the hook. Then they add around fifteen hundred in "dealer prep fees" which is Stargard theft recovery, exterior & interior sealant applicant. All of which is claimed to be on the car already and non negotiable. The reality is this probably costs no more than 300-400 wholesal plus some labor, then they mark up over 100%. Shameful this is how a company needs to do business these days.

BEWARE!

BEWARE! DECEPTIVE BUSINESS PRACTICES. They advertise on multiple sites with a price including discounts but what they don’t tell you till last minute is that there are dealer prep fees $1,495 on a used car which are not part of price shown on any of their listings.

I purchased a new 2024 Mini and was required to pay for a program called stargard which is a tracking app. I do not want my car tracked and if it is stolen I have full coverage insurance to replace the vehicle. I would not want it back after a thief stole it. The program cost is $995. I’m sure the dealership did not pay that much for the app. I would like to get my money refunded and take my chances on the car not being stolen. If you are thinking of buying a mini for Portland Mini I would suggest you try and make a deal to order a vehicle and not let them push the stargard program on you. Bob

Love Mini of Portland💖✨

We were considering the purchase of a Mini Cooper and reached out initially by telephone. Kim Posey answered our call and was extremely friendly and professional from the beginning of the conversation. We agreed upon a time to meet; Kim had the car that we had expressed interest in right out front. She promptly greeted us upon our arrival. The Chile Red Mini Cooper S was exactly as described on their website and at the reasonable advertised price. We were somewhat hesitant to begin the purchasing process as it was the first sunny day in a long time and, let’s be honest, who wants to spend all day at a car dealership? When we stated that, while we loved the car, we weren’t sure that we were up to the typically lengthy and not-so-fun negotiating process. Kim politely asked us to give her the chance to quickly present our offer. Kim did not disappoint! True to her word, she presented our offer and within just a few minutes we had agreed on a price and were ready to purchase. There were no high pressure sales tactics from Kim or from Bryn Weigel, the expedient and friendly Finance Manager that we worked with. We have purchased several, and I mean SEVERAL, cars in the past (multiple from Mini of Portland) and can honestly recommend Mini of Portland. Keep in mind, that recommendation is almost entirely based upon the people that make Mini of Portland so great! Kim Posey, you truly made our buying experience a pleasurable part of our sunny day drive! We are beyond grateful for your patience and understanding of our feelings and situation. We look forward to recommending you to our friends and colleagues!

Don’t Go Here

Was nice till one is done with purchase. Then you’re on your own don’t let the “welcome to the family speak lure you in “ it’s all bs they are there to sell cars what happens after? . Well that’s your problem! Just saying trust my words as a Naval Officer and Airline Captain they lose obfuscate and will never be there for you. Example: I put 10 grand down and coordinated with salesman”Zak” don’t do business with him less you like being hung up on … after the family speech. They have an “F” rating with better business bureau. So take your car so to speak on your own not a company I would ever do business with again.

Huge Mistake

I never write bad reviews. I understand that everyone has different perceptions of situations and unfortunate things happen all the time. However, I cannot let my experience go without letting people know, in hopes that what happened to me never happens to anyone else. Almost a year ago, I purchased a Mini Cooper from Mini of Portland. As a teacher, I have a tight budget and thought I could trust purchasing a vehicle from Mini of Portland. I might as well have just set the money on fire. Within putting 500 miles on the vehicle, my check engine light came on. I took the car to my local Mini dealership where I was told the timing chain was installed incorrectly (according to BBB, I am not the only one who has had this issue with Portland’s service). While Mini of Portland admits to replacing the timing chain, they claim that it is impossible that the timing chain was installed incorrectly. Additionally, my local Mini dealership discovered that my engine was burning oil. I was quoted over $15,000 in service fees, along with the statement that they would never have sold this car. While my Mini dealership supported me in this situation, I was left to fight my own battles. I spent months trying to contact Mini of Portland, Mini USA, and the CEO & President of Mini. I could not help but compare a previous experience I had with Subaru. While Mini left me to be my own advocate, Subaru did everything for me. They contacted the other dealership, who had installed the wrong part. They made sure that correct part was installed correctly, and I wasn’t charged anything. As Mini of Portland was the mechanic on file with CarFax leading up to the sale of this vehicle, they should have been fully aware of the car’s issues. Along with being the service provider, they mistakenly sent me the wrong report, which further proved that they were aware that the car had issues with a check engine light. The report showed that the car came in 6 months before it was traded in because the check-engine light came on. The owner probably decided to just cut his/her loses. With no help from anyone within the Mini Corporation, including the CEO and president, I went to an independent mechanic for some assistance. I was quite frankly told to “sell her. Take her to a car wash and then trade her in.” He said that she was not worth fixing, and that there was no way that the engine in the vehicle only had a 100,000 miles on it. Everything about it was worn out - that it appeared as if they took a junked Mini engine and put it in her. After this ordeal, not only will I never buy from Mini of Portland, but I will never buy a Mini/BMW again.

Do not take you car to them

If I could give this a ZERO star I would. We came in and paid over $5000 to fix our car. 3200 of it was stuff they found upon inspection. Once we got it back , a month later, my radio did not work. I tried to call and emailed them as well and noone ever returned call. Now fast forward from Dec to now. My car once again started to smoke and smell like burning oil. I took it to my mechanic and he looked and called me with pictured and said that there was no way they had fixed what they said thwy fixed that I needed to call and ask for a refund because they were not honest with us. So I called them and they said bring in the car and we will have loaner. So we traveled over 2 hours to take the car and upon arrival from minute one we were disrespected, talked down to, Accused of lying and then told we had to pay for a diagnostic and put our card on file for the loaner. They were condescending and even pulled us into their office to explain why they(Rob the service manager and Andrew the consultant,)had a right to be in fight mode. I called my mechanic and he was trying to explain to them what he found and once again was rude to the mechanic to the point that my mechanic told them that they were unprofessional and needed to trest people with respect. Thwy said thwy wouldn't refund my money but then said they would give us a partial and literally only gave us 1/8 of the cost thwy changed to mess my car up worse than before. I DONOT recommend them at all. Do not buy from them. They are not honest or respectful.

They won’t care for you unless your affluent

I’ve been a life long mini customer. Due to Covid hardships and some complications around a name change my credit score has suffered. I’m sure a lot of people can understand hardships due to Covid. Francis could use training on being empathetic and more polite to his customers. I’ve bought twice as expensive as what I was asking for finance for and was told I had to provide proof of income an 3 references. Never have I ever had to do this. The offer also didn’t take into consideration the amount I wanted to put down and had astronomically high interest rates for a market that wants to give people loans to stimulate it. When I mentioned this to Francis he said he wasn’t the bank and “just sold awesome Mini’s”. That’s all I heard. Nothing else. What an arse.

Exceptional Service Experience

From drop off to pick up, the service was exceptional. My Advisor, Ed Zeissler, was very friendly and made sure I knew exactly what was needed and happening. He answered all of my questions was very personable. The tech, Rick, sent me a video of the vehicle inspection as he did a walk around and discussed my brakes. It was fantastic! I never see the underside of my car. I just felt very at ease and taken care of. I love my Mini and the piece of mind that comes with the knowledgeable friendly confident service that backs it.
