This review is twofold due to the buying process question. We originally bought our mini several years ago and it was the absolute worst car buying e
xperience we ever had. The finance person was a nightmare trying to really push the extended warranty on us. He made it so unpleasant we almost walked out but after complaining to the manager they had someone else finish up the paperwork and they were much better to deal with. We took our mini in for service as it would intermittently die while idling at a stop light or sign. Then it would have a difficult time starting back up. It also had a really hard time starting back up after filling the tank up. It took them a while to diagnose the problem the first visit and we didn't get the feeling that they were all the confident with the fix but it ended up costing almost $1000 - something about spark plugs etc which didn't seem like that would be the problem in our opinion. The next day the issue was still occurring. Took it back in and drove around with them so they could see the problem. This time they said it was a fuel adjuster/something or other which was about $131. This seems to have fixed the problem. We don't think that the original work did much but unfortunately I guess there's nothing we can do about it. Not impressed at all with the car or their service.

Ivan went the extra mile with my warranty company and saved me almost $2500.00 . The company did not want to cover as my problem was caused by "poor m
aintenance". He explained I had just bought the car and it was caused by the previous owner. It took some sweet talk but he got them to cover a problem they didn't have to. Not to mention he is just an awesome guy. Mini of Portland is a great company to work with and all the folks there have the clients best interest as their main focus. Had I known how great they are I would have been a client of theirs when they first opened. I am for ever greatfull to Ivan and his team!
