I have had a rough go around with Walker’s Renton and I wish I had been more informed before I bought. Sales: Or original sales person was not knowledgeable... about the product. He was not able to answer questions about the cars, so they passed us off to Kyle. Kyle was great. Knew the product really well and worked with the dealership to get a good deal, but since he was pulled in last minute for the sale, he was unable to go over the product with us. Overall, Kyle has been the best person to work with at Subaru. The one issue I have is that they sold me a Subaru with a broken part and refuse to fix it. I highly, highly suggest going through each button and open each thing to ensure nothing is broken, because they may not disclose this information. Finance has been a nightmare. We were rushed through the process and the gap coverage and extended warranty were sort of thrown at us without a good explanation. Don’t get gap coverage. Your insurance has it for WAY cheaper. That isn’t the part I’m upset about. I bought my car in September and traded in my Volkswagen. They didn’t pay off the lean, despite that being part of our agreement. I called mid October and stopped by the store to let them know and they didn’t look into it, so it is now two payments gone unpaid and they did not apologize for the mistake. I have been on and off the phone with them and was not impressed at how they handled this at all. Service does not communicate well with sales. The part that was broken they originally thought was covered by warranty, so they started off willing to help, but they are horrible at quoting the time it will take for service. Alex is wonderful and if you need additional help he is a great communicator, but overall I hope this team works to have better communication. Since then, I’ve been working with Carter Subaru in Ballard and I highly recommend them. They are a well oiled machine and communicate really well. Weigh your options prior to buying, but Walker made a really exciting time in my life quite the nightmare
I've bought three cars at three separate dealers in my life thus far and I have NEVER experienced treatment as awful as Walker's Renton Subaru. I was here... to browse and compare new cars for sale and instead was stuck in front of a sales desk for four hours. I was honest from the beginning that I was not here to be locked into a sale today, only to browse available options to make sure I was making the most educated purchase as a consumer. Several high-pressured tactics that are serious violations of the Washington State Consumer Protection Act according to the attorney general, not the least of which are, holding keys, and insisting on signing statements at the sales desk - not in the financial office - saying you will agree to buy their car, which I consistently refused. They told me they would not be able to give me any more information on my trade in, until I signed a document saying I agree to buy their new car. At this point I wanted to get up and leave, but my keys were taken in the first hour to appraise my car for trade in. Now, this much is a legitimate reason to hand off your keys for only the length of time it takes to appraise, but for no more than 15 minutes. After my car was appraised, my keys were kept in the office of the sales manager, not the salesman, who I was not allowed access to. There were several times where I wanted to upright leave but physically could not with my car keys sequestered in an inaccessible office. I asked for my keys and was told "of course you can have your keys, do you think we are holding your keys? We would NEVER hold your keys!" And then proceed to keep me at the sales desk and not return my keys to me. At a certain point, after three hours of trying to negotiate, once my salesman offered me a number that felt agreeable, he conveniently "lost" the sheet of paper with the negotiated pricing information. The sales manager came out and told me he would never agree to a price that low and that I made up the final number. I insisted to her he just offered me this price, but that she couldn't access it because now she, the manager, was "locked out of the system". I told her I wasn't making his offer up, and that I took a picture of the paper with the correct pricing he offered right before he "lost" this important paper. I showed her the photo on my phone of the paper to prove I wasn't making this up and that he had actually offered me the price we negotiated on that she claimed I was making up. As I showed her the photo on my phone, she took my iPhone from me and walked away back into her locked office with the salesman. Not only would this be unprofessional on a good day, it was beyond unprofessional to reach beyond the plexiglass barrier and take my iphone from me in a pandemic. I could go on to say that she was not wearing her mask correctly and that wearing it under her nose and grabbing my phone from me does nothing to protect anyone in a respiratory-focused pandemic, but honestly this was the least of my problems. The blatant gaslighting, insinuating that I was lying and then blatantly denying events that were provable with a camera were much more problematic. My only regret is that I didn't demand my keys back after the first hour so I could get out of such a crooked establishment. Not only will I not be referring anyone here, I will make sure to file claims of these violations set by the Washington state attorney general's office to make sure no one else will have to be subject to this beyond dehumanizing treatment.
Absolutely love this place all the sales representatives are so friendly and knowledgeable. I have used the service department a couple of times and Kim... was really nice and so easy to work with. The buying experience was really easy and fun. I would recommend Walker's Renton Subaru to whom ever is in the market for a Subaru. I worked with Diane Baldwin and she was great!!!!!!
Just bought our third Subaru from Walker's. Diane made each purchase easy and painless, definitely NOT the typical new car purchase experience. That... is why we have come back three times. This time we also worked with Ian Miller. Ian was very helpful and knowledgeable (ask him about his Subaru WRX!) Love Subarus and these are the folks to buy them from.
Stress-free, amazing and helpful salesman! Made a great experience and made me a Subaru fan! Fiance loves the new car, and we're excited to have it be... the car to start our family.
Diane met me where I was at and was patient with me throughout the entire process. I went back and forth between a few cars and she gave me the space I... needed to decide rather than pressuring me before I was ready. I had lots of questions, she not only answered all of them but gave me additional helpful information along the way. Diane also has a sense of humor that keeps the process fun. I highly recommend going to Diane no matter what stage of the process you're at.
I've pinged them in email, asking for their discount on the car configuration I want. I get connected with Garrett, who said he can't tell me discount... online: 'The only way I can make it happen is if you can come in and we sit down figure it out together.'. After few letters, we were not moving anywhere, I asked to not contact me. I was contacted by Trey then, who offered me 2k higher price, then dealership where I recently bought my car from. So I spent most of my time communicating with this dealership, and got worst price
I'd like to give the sales rep a good review, Alex Salazar, went out of his way to show the vehicles by providing live videos and photos. His customer... service is excellent! I would say he was awesome at communicating, providing information not only about the vehicle but about the dealership, provided information on Subaru.com and even showed us the website and how to navigate. He is a great rep to have on the team!! I'd definitely recommend friends and/or family to come to this dealership ONLY because of Alex.
If I tell you I've shopped around and know exactly what car I want and am just looking far a blue one, don't lie to me that you have it. Better yet don't... show me the white one when we agreed I was coming in to see the blue one you said you had and ask for $1000 to maybe find a blue one. Probably just doing what your manager taught you but how will that be a pleasant buying experience.
Diane Baldwin and the entire team at Walker's were amazing to work with. Diane really made the experience of purchasing a new car a smooth and enjoyable... one! I would like to personally thank you for my new Subaru Crosstrek. I could not be happier! Kim Cory/ Joseph (Dan) Cory
