Gateway Toyota are scammers (honest review)

Beware, this dealership is not trustworthy and don't care about their customers. I visited Gateway Toyota in Jan 2023 to examine a used Volkswagen available for purchase. I test drove the car, and while overall, it was great, it shook really badly when braking. The salesperson agreed that it shook. We were interested in the car, but I was concerned about the shaking. The salesperson went and asked the service team, who said that they had worked on the brakes but the shaking would subside with use. I was skeptical, but he assured me that they would take care of this issue if it persisted. I pressed him on how this would be recorded, and he again assured me that he would remember and keep his word. You can probably guess where this story is going, but fast forward, the shaking did not subside. I emailed the salesperson, and he said he would look into it. I brought the car to a Volkswagen dealer, who said the brakes were repaired incorrectly. I emailed him again with no response. Please don't make the same mistake as I did. DON'T BUY FROM GATEWAY TOYOTA!!! They are not reputable, nor honest, in their dealings with their customers.

Steer Clear!

Steer clear of this dealership! Not a shred of loyalty or honesty here. High pressure, dishonest and tricky/sneaky. Will sell your car right out from under you without a word and not even think twice about it. Sad to think anyone would have to deal with this type of treatment coming in to purchase a vehicle. Horrible!!

Disaster alert

Long time Toyota owner no more. Came in looking for a small SUV. Took forever to "evaluate" my trade-in. Low-balled on the trade in price - less than half the Kelly Blue Book trade in price. When it was clear I wasn't buying, the sales manager tossed my keys to the salesperson to give back to me. Don't forget the mandatory $4000 add-ons which are probably 90% profit.

Avoid these slimeballs at all costscosts0

This is a slimy dealership. Before discussing price of the car I was interested in I asked what fees were going to be added to the cost of the car. They started with a reconditioning fee of $1,299.00 for pinstriping and paint protection followed by a $599.00 documentation fee. I stopped the guy at that point and said that I couldn't do business with their dealership. I definitely would not recommend these slimeballs at all.

Advertised price is not accurate

Have to agree with some of the reviews. The true online price all-in is the advertised price plus 5k. Then you are offered a worse car for your price target. Salesmen I dealt with was nice, but definitely a little messed up .

I will never come back to this dealership

First I would like Greg to know that I'm very unhappy with what went on Monday January 25th, you sent me an offer thru my email with what I thought was a great deal only to waste my time as well as losing time from work to come there only to find it was the old bait and switch deal. I also am very unhappy with Jo's the sales man for lying to my face and telling me that offer was for a lease and when I proved him wrong he just shrugged it off and made up another excuse. Not only will I never buy a car at your dealership but I will never bring it there for service. If you can't be honest don't bother me. I will deal with Dell toyota where I bought my truck from since they were the only dealership that not only didn't treat me like I was an idiot but was honest thru the whole process.

Great experience

Purchased a used Subaru and Chris was our salesperson. The process was easy, to the point and no nonsense. Chris was friendly, informative and a pleasure to do business with. I recommend Gateway Toyota and Chris!

About my experience in buying a new car at Gateway

Gateway Toyota is the best dealer in town. Place is so clean, all representatives are all good, price of the car is okay but the most of all is the one who assisted me. His name is TJ Gardner, a representative I’ve ever met. He’s so perfect. Explain everything that you want to know about the car. I recommended him to everyone. 👍👍👍

Best car buying experience

Straight forward, upfront dealership. Very organized and efficient. This includes the website. I was able to pick out my car and complete most of the purchase remotely. Spent no more than an hour and a half at the dealer between two visits to leave a deposit and then pick up my car. Fred Heise, my sales consultant did a fantastic job and stayed in touch throughout the process. This included going through the vehicle's operation and tech features before I left the lot. Best experience ever buying a car.
