We had an appointment with one man at 2pm in witch we were on time and he was busy with someone else. Come to find out the car that he said hed have pulled... up and ready to look at was indeed sold and we wasted a 40 minute drive for absolutely nothing. We could have saved the trip with a simple email.
I had a truck listed for sale on Craigslist, I was contacted by a member of the sales team at Stevens Point Honda. He said they wanted to purchase the... truck from me. I made it clear to him that I was firm on my asking price of $18500, I made it CRYSTAL clear that I would not accept a low trade in offer on it. (KBB poor trade in value was about $14500) he said they would be willing to pay market value on the truck. Mind you this truck is in better then average condition. I set up an appointment to meet with them. I left work a couple hours early and made the 45 minute drive to the dealership. They looked over the truck and agreed that it was in awesome shape for the year. The sale manager came out and met with me. I was shocked.....They didn't lie when they said they wouldn't offer trade in value! they offered me $5000. not even half of what trade in value is! I was lied to by the staff and quite honestly insulted. If your looking to be lied to and waste a bunch of your time Stevens point Honda is the dealership for you!
I am so impressed by true professionalism at this service center. I have trust in their suggestions. From the scheduling of my serivce to discussion about... repairs, these huys clearly know how to get the job done!
Thanks for the kind words!
Pete sharpen you pencil if you want us to buy the 2017 0r 2019 honda. I am so sorry it isnt working. Was good to meet you even if we cant buy
We agreed to an internet price for a 2019 VW Tiguan then the dealership adds $300.00 to the cost of the SUV for anti theft body panel stickers. WHO DOES... THAT?
Every time I go in for some sort of repair, something crazy goes wrong and when I call about it to express a concern, is a litany of excuses for what happened.... Once I asked them to check my spare tire to make sure that it would come off (because of the salt use in my state in the winter) and the tire came loose and rolled down the highway when I left the dealership! When I went to grab the tire and put it in the back of the vehicle, all the items that came with the spare like the jack, the wrench, etc. were all spread around the back of my car so I know they didn’t finish the job-somebody got interrupted mid-job. The excuse that time was that the chain broke under the car and my spare went flying down the highway because of that. Another time I had my vehicle checked in January and at that time asked them to check the air conditioning unit for summer. He said that the fee would be about $130 and I told him I would wait until spring to have it fixed. When spring came I asked him about the repair and without looking on the computer he told me that the part was $1000, because he never even looked up what was wrong with the air conditioning. He was happy for me to just pay the higher fee for a new whatever part! In addition to that when they fixed it he found somebody’s cell phone in my engine. It had obviously been left there when they did the previous repair in January, and no one noticed it had been left there. Who loses their phone in a customer’s ENGINE! I also took my new/used Element there when I purchased it and asked them to check it over and at that time they told me I needed an axle or an axel part. (I t was making a lot of noise when I turned). I had that replaced but the sound of something broken was worse. I took it to another mechanic and the sway bars were loose or disconnected at three points of contact, so the only place the sway bar was attached was where they had put the new axle parts. This past week I took it in for an oil change and asked them to make sure it was sound for a cross country trip (about 15 hours each way). The service technician told me everything was in good shape and he rotated the tires. I hadn’t asked for that, but whatever. He said the tread was much better on the front tires than the back and to consider new tires for the fall. Well, this morning when I got on the highway, I noticed a significant shake in the steering wheel. I called the dealership, expecting an excuse, and guess what? My car may now need alignment. No kidding, why wasn’t this mentioned? Yes, he mentioned the tread, but that doesn’t automatically register with the average non-car tech. The tech said he didn’t know if that would happen or not, but he knows that I cannot afford every repair they mention. This is very true, and I have asked (in the past) what repair is a suggestion and what’s pressing- ‘cause the dealership is so darned expensive! So now I have to worry he’s not going to bring something up because of my income? It’s just another EXCUSE! So this getting exhausting and there’s no accountability on their part. Save yourself the high blood pressure, like when someone almost got killed because THEY didn’t secure my spare tire. Find someone honest and ACCOUNTABLE!
We traveled 300 miles after we had negotiated a deal over the phone on a car we had never seen. When we arrived the car was waiting and ready but when... we got down to paperwork all of a sudden there were $600-700 of never discussed extra charges on the bottom line. When we tried to have these surcharges removed since they were not wanted by us it was explained that those were charges that couldn’t be removed, including locking lug nuts we didn’t want but there was nobody there to remove so we were stuck. As we tried to discuss with sales manager why these charges had been added and were not ever discussed until we arrived another sales associate asked why we hadn’t asked beforehand about charges we didn’t know where on the bill of sale.Needless to say that was the final straw and we walked and drove home without the vehicle. Very poor sales experience and very deceptive sales practices e cautious if you go here to buy a vehicle.
I am sorry you could not work things out the day you were here. We don't have $700 in fees and any accessories are optional, so I am not sure where th...e confusion is coming from over the price. I see this story is posted on multiple websites. Please feel free to reach out to me at the dealership. I would still be happy to resolve anything I can. Brian
I was very pleased with my experience, including the customer service, follow up after purchase and I love our new car! I will definitely purchase from... Stevens Point Honda again.
I've had the distinct pleasure of working with Pete Edwardson at Stevens Point Honda since 2006 when I bought a Honda Pilot. I later bought a 2014 Honda... Accord and most recently a 2017 Honda CRV from Pete. Pete went beyond just selling me cars, he reached out by building a memorable experience with his professionalism, knowledge, and genuine caring. The same can be said for Kelly Peterson in the Service department. I took the 2006 Honda Pilot in to have a trailer hitch installed so we could pull a UTV. He impressed me immediately with his knowledge of cars and professionalism. He also worked to build a trusting relationship once we established we'd both lived in and loved South Dakota. We'll be moving soon to be closer to our daughter and grand kids, and I will miss these two gentlemen, their professionalism, knowledge, and sincere caring about customer service.
I was pleased with the service I received from Matt the salesman I was working with. My disappointment came after the purchase was completed. First they... didnt bother to put any gas in the tank, I did test drive it with the fuel light on but thought that they would put some fuel in should the sale go through. Then driving home the tire check light came on. I also happened to discover that an oil change was due on the vehicle as it was at only 30%. My disappointment is in the lack of attention to the small details. Makes me wonder what else may have been overlooked. I ended up bringing it to my local dealer and having everything checked there. Although I really did like working with Matt I'm not sure I would recommend or go back there.
