We were at Thousand Oaks Toyota to test-drive a new Prius when my wife saw a red Solara convertible and asked to test-drive it. She mentioned that sh
e had a red convertible in college, and was enthusiastic about the Solara. While she was driving, I researched the car online and found that the asking price, $24,500, was $10,000 over Blue Book for the model, year, and mileage. I offered the salesperson $14,500 on the spot, showed him the online Blue Book details, and was rebuffed. It later turned out that they had the car on the lot for a year (!). The salesperson was absolutely insistent that they wouldn't take a penny less than the $24,500 asking price. The salesperson continued to call me for days, but hung up on me each time I referred to the Blue Book price. We found a one-year-older Solara, with 35K fewer miles, at another dealer, and bought it for $14,000. We later bought a new Prius, also at another dealer. We've never set foot in Thousand Oaks Toyota dealership again.
I submitted an inquiry to the dealership about a vehicle I was interested through cars.Com. I was pleasantly surprised when the dealer reached back to
me, and provided me.Detailed information about the vehicle. There was no badgering, or pushy sales pitch, which I appreciated. Did not buy the vehicle but they will be top dealership on my list when I'm ready to make an offer, solely for the salesperson's professionalism.
I was looking at their 2012 Camry and sent a Best Price Quote request from cars.com. I asked them to help give me a best quote out-of-the-door price.
Not only they don't give me the quote, the email response was just a generic to come in test-drive from Eddy. When contacted their website online chat, I finally got a response back with excuse that I contacted off hour; quote request was sent a day before, not off hour. I was told to gave them a price in mind and they would see if they could work off some best price. I never received anything back from them. This is a pretty sleazy dealer which only want you to come in. Contacted a few other and they came back with information right away; not some shady practice. I would give zero if that is option. Avoid this dealer at all cost.
Spoke with John and he stated he would call me back and didn't. I purchased a camry hybrid at another dealer because of his lack of communication.
Toyota of Thousand Oaks really has their stuff together. I inquired via internet, set-up an appointment, and the whole process was very easy and didn'
t take forever. They provided me with a quality car, price was right, and financing was a breeze. Not to mention the staff was very friendly and treated me right.
I only stopped here to look at a car we were interested in and in 5 minutes, Cliff was suggesting a price to me without asking that usually takes a co
uple hours of negotiating to get. And then since I was out of state, they offered to lower the price more to make up for the extra taxes I'd have to pay buying in california. I went back the next day and bought exactly what we wanted at an amazing price and they had to get it at another dealership so we didn't have to settle with what was on their lot. I'd have to say that they proved they wanted our business the right way, getting me the car we really wanted at a price we didn't expect. See Cliff if you want a good experience.
James, Thank you very for the review. Cliff has a lot of Toyota experience and we're glad that he was able to help you. Thousand Oaks Toyota welcome
s you to their family. We will do our best to make your ownership experience a good one! Thank You, Ron Blomquist General Manager
I purchased a used 2009 Honda Civic LX from this dealership and as soon as I hit the lot a sales rep by the name of Mark lee came out to greet myself
and my father. We chatted and I had told him I had my heart set on the 09 Civic that I saw the ad on cars.com. Mark immediately grabbed the keys and showed me the vehicle and let me take her for a spin. The vehicle was in pristine condition and I instantly fell in love with it. After a long negotiating process Mark and his father Cliff (who is the manager there) were able get the deal done at the price I had exactly wanted. I usually walk out of a dealership where I felt I had been ripped but the FIRST time in my life I walked out of there feeling confident I got a great deal on a great car. Biggest thanks to Mark and Cliff Lee.
I contacted Toyota dealer of thousand oaks via internet and, I received a response from the internet manager .I asked a couple of questions .he told m
e he would check these things out and get back to me HE never did .I guess he didn't want my business?
I purchased my RAV4 almost 4 years ago and have been taking the car for service ever since then. First, the sales team seemed OK and I received a good
deal. The finance guy was actually really nice and helpful. The great thing about TO Toyota is the service dept. They've always honored every coupon / discount and they clearly tell you what they're going to work on. The car has always been ready on time and I've never gotten the feeling they're trying to pad the bill or do anything besides take care of the customer. The only problem I've had with my RAV4 is the alternator went out with just over 40,000 miles (very unusual). Since I was out of warranty it looked like I was going to have to pay well over $600 to get it repaired, but they gave me the number for US Toyota and told me to call and see if they would at least cover part of the bill. The person I spoke to at US Toyota was very polite and professional and said she would review the case. Within minutes she was one the phone with TO Toyota where they vouched for me and talked US Toyota into paying the entire bill. I was very surprised / pleased! The only negative thing I can say about the service dept is I wish they would start washing cars again, but that's a minor complaint. In summary, a bit of a modest show room and decent sales guys. A pretty cool Finance guy (sorry, forgot his name!). And an honest and knowledgeable service dept. All in all a good place and where I'll go to buy my next Toyota.
