I have purchased two new cars from Darryl. He is now the sales manager so I guess I'll buy my next one from somebody else. I had a recall on my Ford an... appointment at 10:30. 12:45 I'm out the door and everything is completed. Everybody was friendly and the coffee was great. After being unable to deal with conventional dealerships in the Salt Lake area I was so relieved to find performance. They treat you like they want your business not like some idiot that needs fleecing. If you hate the car buying experience go to Performance. It should change your attitude. They have me for life.
I went in to buy a new '16 Jeep Patriot last August. The salesman was a nice guy. My credit took some hits the year before, but the finance manager was... able to get me a low rate with a good payment. At that point I would have rated them a 5 stars. The finance guy gave the best experience during my purchasing. A month later I got a flat tire and took it back in. I was told that my comprehensive warranty covered flat tires as well by the salesman, but I was told the tires were not covered by the service dept. That was fine, so I had them fix it. This is when the real problems started happening. The service department there gives the worst service I've ever had. To start it off, I ordered all weather mats. I was supposed to get a call when they came in, but I never got a call. After waiting 3 weeks I called them and was told "Yeah, they've been here for 3 weeks". They received them the day after I ordered them. I asked why I never got a call and they just said "Sometimes we call and sometimes we don't". When I took the jeep in to get the flat tire fixed, they scratched the bumper either taking the flat tire out of the back or putting the spare back in. The did't even secure the spare into it's spot, they just tossed it in. I called later that day and left a voicemail with the service manager about the scratch on my brand new car. I never got a call back. It wasn't a small scratch either, it's about 7 inches long. After a couple months I had to go back in for my oil change (it came with a free one). The "Change Oil" indicator was going off on the display screen every time I started it. I told the guy that I wanted synthetic. He said "It will get what it needs". I thought it was an odd response, but I figured he knew what I wanted and so I left it at that. The windshield washer fluid ran completely out a couple days before as well. They top off the fluids when you take it in as well. I went back out to get my jeep when they said it was done. It was parked close to the bumper of another car, I had to have them move it in order to get out. As I drove away the "Change oil" alert was still showing. I thought maybe it needed a minute to reset. Nope. They didn't clear it. That night the temps got below 25 degree. The next morning I tried to use my windshield washers and they were frozen solid. The whole reservoir was frozen. They didn't use winterized fluid. I then call the dealership to talk to the service manager, again. It was a different person than before. He told me that whatever fluid I had in there before was not all-season fluid. I told him it was empty. He shrugged it off. He then said to bring it back in so they could reset the "Change oil" alert. I've been driving around with the change oil alert going off since fall 2016 because I refuse to go back to them. I hate their service department. I will never be back.
I met Darryl Jones at the Performance Automall Ford/Dodge lot and he was very kind and applied zero pressure and provided me with a lot of options and... helped me narrow down my choice. For every question I asked Darryl, he told me the pros and cons and some of the advice he provided didn't necessarily benefit him or Performance. He was a straight shooter. I would see Darryl again if I was in the market and recommend him to anyone else looking. Dennis Ewing also offered some great advice on financing options and answered some technical questions about the different models for me while Darryl selected several vehicles to test drive. Nate Shepard spoke to me while i was waiting in the showroom and talked to me about different vehicles, his personal experience, and likes and dislikes about both Dodge and Ford products. He also offered me pizza and a drink and was very friendly and cordial. I brought my dog with me and he was a dog guy too so we talked about dogs for quite some time. Once i decided on what i wanted, Steve Laird took over and got me the deal i was looking for and a great interest rate. He is a great personable guy with a sense of humor, so I laughed a lot while finishing up the deal. Every question i had, he was able to answer and i felt like i made the right decision after i left and even a week later. No buyer's remorse or any negative feelings about the whole process. I've shopped a lot of dealers and never had such a pleasant buying experience.

I have recently wrecked my Dodge Ram 1500, that I also purchased at Performance. I was looking at potential replacements, but had not received my insurance... money yet. Tim Swanson came out and greeted me. I explained I wasn't quite ready, but he requested I come in to check the inventory. I was thinking "oh boy, here we go". We sat down, he got us a nice cold beverage and went to get the inventory list. We reviewed it, and nothing really fit my price range. He went and spoke to his manager Darryl. He knew of a truck just going through the shop. He had Tim pull it around, and we drove it. I liked the truck, but again I didn't have my down payment yet. I filled out the app., and boom! I was an owner. Now this process was like only an hour. The next day they had my truck detailed and ready to go. As I said, this is the second truck I have bought there. By far the BEST sales experiences I have ever had!

I took my car in for a recall so, I wasn't even a "paying" customer. I needed a ride home, since my car had to be there for 2 1/2 hrs. Their shuttle service... was quick in taking me to and from, wherever I needed to go. They dropped me off at home and shortly after I had to run my baby to the drs. and even though they just dropped me off, they were more than happy to come back and grab me. When we got back to the Automall to pick up our car, I had to wait a bit in the waiting room where they had yummy (complimentary) popcorn and fountain drinks with a movie playing. It made it a lot easier to manage my little kids. When my car was done, they even washed it for me, for free.

We were going to a family reunion the next day when our truck broke down. Friendly, helpful, made sure we were taken home shortly after having the truck... towed to their service department. They went above and beyond to make sure we could leave in our truck at 7:00 the next morning. I had just about given up on buying a new car when I found Quality Automotive in Tooele, Utah. It is now Performance Automotive but the attitude and service... has not changed. I bought my car from Darryl Jones and the process was totally painless. Warranty work, what little there was, was done with no problem or hassle. I am currently thinking of trading that car in for a small pick up and I am going nowhere else. I would recommend this dealership to anyone that doesn't like high pressure.
