I applied for financing through other dealers and the terms were not realistic for me. A Carvana truck was in neighborhood, that is how I learned about... them. I found the car buying process easy and great. The delivery went well I even changed my delivery address a few times.. every step of the buying and delivery... process was smooth!! Carvana's communication was AWESOME!! Until the registration process... This is partially my fault and Carvana's... I wasn't aware I owed property taxes until I received an email from Carvana stating DMV had me in compliance for property taxes so I squared that away and called Carvana, I specifically asked if there was anything else that would delay my registration because my temp tags were due to expire soon. I was told everything looked great! 48 days after I took delivery I get an email saying my vehicle can't be registered without it going to emissions. They sent me an email at 6PM on Tuesday 3 days after my temp tags expired. The situation warranted a phone call because of the urgency! Plus why wasn't my car taken to emissions before delivery? (i work at a small dealership and we take the vehicles to emissions before delivery) If you're going to sell in every state Carvana should know the laws especially when it comes to emissions. Still sorting this out UGH... The second complaint is the referral process I referred 2 people using codes on the cards they left in my car the day I took delivery. The people were asked to tell Carvana my name and make/model. Well, I realized that both people might have had my last name wrong (I recently went back to my maiden name.) I called Carvana and asked them if I'd still get my referral reward of $100 for each person even tho they gave them the wrong last name. The lady said she could see both referrals and one of them used the correct last name so I was good for that reward. Unfortunately, the other person used my married name so I asked the woman to change it she said she wouldn't be able to do that?! Why? She clearly knew I am the one who referred the person and every detail matches except the last name? She asked me to have the person call and change my name on the referral so I reached out and this person hasn't responded and I doubt they ever will. I'm still not sure what to do about it.
I have to be honest, the process was long and difficult. I don't believe that is the norm but for some reason, my experience was like this. It wasn't all... Carvana's fault, my insurance company gave us issues also. But I had some bumps along the way of the buying process. I appreciated 90% of the customer service reps and advocates. They were very helpful and nice. I had a couple that went above and beyond at times. Especially an advocate named Darryl. He was amazing and patient even when our call went over an hour and a half. He really was an advocate when it came to dealing with progressive insurance and their rep that had a horrible attitude and was unwilling to help us. I did appreciate the people that dropped both of the cars off, they were thorough and helpful. I did have an issue with trying to get my swap approved due to not having the proper info from one of the reps at carvana. He told me I didn't need to fill out a certain paper or have my insurance card ahead of time for a swap, but in fact I did and it delayed my delivery date. But other than the length of time it took and the misinformation, I appreciated the carvana reps and advocates. On a side note, I realize that you pay to get anything fixed on the car for 100 days, but I had to swap out my first car I purchased from carvana because there were mechanical issues with it that I felt were obvious and should have been taken care of before selling the vehicle.
This was our first time purchasing with Carvana and it was amazing. The process was easy and the car was up to our standards. I don't know that we will... ever go back to a dealer. A Carvana expert was available every step of the way if we had any questions. Thank you for making car buying easy.
It should not be as easy as ordering cat food on Amazon to get a car delivered to your door. We had been wanting to replace our old Town and Country for... some time and it seemed like the time to go ahead and pull the trigger. Surprisingly, the best price we found for the mileage and trim we were looking for turned out to be Carvana. There are some terrible online reviews out there, but we decided that to get exactly what we wanted, we'd take a chance and we could not have been happier with the process. Within 30 minutes of starting the online checkout process (including applying online to our outside lender and a call to Carvana to give them the loan information) we were done and our car was scheduled for delivery right to the house. On delivery day, Mike handed us the keys and told us to take it for a test drive while he made sure the paperwork was in order. Then it was just a matter of signing the already completed documents and we were done. This was the only place we ran into trouble, as they had misspelled a name on the paperwork, but even here they demonstrated outstanding customer service as the manager drove to our home herself with the corrected forms. We had 7 days to finalize the sale, so took the car to our mechanic who agreed it was in fantastic condition and we are thrilled with our purchase. Combine a fair price with NO DEALER FEES (which run anywhere from $250- over $1000 in our area) and it also ended up being a great buy. We will absolutely look at Carvana again, the next time we need a car. The time and effort we saved by going this route was amazing.
