I searched for a Grand Cherokee L that specifically had the tow prep package as I intend to use it to tow as it is advertised to do so. Found it, contacted Coastline and put the deal together before I arrived. Quick and easy transaction other than the high pressure finance department crap. Front bumper was damaged on delivery they said they would take care of it at a later date. Few weeks later I decide to tow a trailer. No hitch. Vehicle with tow package has no hitch. OK. I order a hitch and have it installed, entire rear bumper has to come off for hitch installation. Not cheap. Start researching tow wiring, find out vehicle does not have tow wiring harness. At all. It's an extra accessory that requires tearing apart the inside of the vehicle (in the words of Coastline parts person on phone) as the harness runs from the back all the way up to the battery and everywhere else it needs to go. In frustration, contact Jeep for help as I can't believe any modern SUV that is advertised with high towing capacity and has a towing package wouldn't have a hitch or needed wiring harness to connect to. No help, Jeep customer assistance is a joke, useless. Called Coastline for help, was told they would look into it and get back to me, never did. Called several more times, Max has told me at least 3 times now he would look into it and call me back and never has. 2 other people from Coastline have told me the same thing, no call back no help ever. I made it clear, I don't expect anything for free I already know Jeep won't do the right thing and help, just wanted to get the front bumper repaired as promised and get the vehicle set up to tow as that's the reason I bought it. Nothing, no help, no follow up. How can a modern SUV not have the wiring harness installed? I'm not talking about the trailer connector I'm talking about the entire harness needed to connect to the trailer plug and brake controller. Jeep is a joke, and Coastline is useless after the sale. Ordered a Tahoe, can't wait to get rid of this and get away from Jeep should have bought a Chevy to begin with
Incompetence or fraud? Does it matter?
While turning sharply to the right into a tight parking space in my lifted Ram 1500, I heard a clunk. From that point on, my truck made a squealing noise on turns with occasional clunking. Recognizing there must be damage to the front end, I immediately ceased driving it and scheduled a Tuesday morning appointment with Coastline. I had to wait a week before they could take it in because they were booked up. I dropped the truck and fob off Monday evening and awaited their inspection results. I’m a patient guy and waited until just after 5pm Friday to inquire about the vehicle. I was told it would be reviewed on Monday. I was pissed. Had they told me they intended to ignore my Ram 4X4 all week, I would have taken it elsewhere. I made that point very clear upon learning my truck wasn’t being repaired. Days later I receive a quote for over $3K to replace the driveshaft and left axle which blew my mind because this kinda damage doesn’t occur during an idle speed turn. More importantly, the left front axle had been replaced a year earlier when a dopey tow truck driver attempted to winch the truck onto a flatbed while in gear, snapping the axle. In general, axles last more than a year causing me to instruct Coastline to DO NOTHING, I was coming to pick up my truck. They invoiced me $269.67 for diagnostic work, I took possession of my truck, and had it towed to the shop that had previously replaced the left axle. I doubted it actually needed replacement but figured if it did, it would still be under warranty. Frankly, I wanted a second opinion. My gut was telling me Coastline’s recommendations were made of the stuff Matador’s stand in. Their quote is shown in the attached photos on other review sites (that allow pics) along with the invoice from the other shop showing the left axle replacement in 2021. Fast forward to auto shop #2 who charges me $40 to check the front end and it turns out NOTHING COASTLINE RECOMMENDED WAS REQUIRED. The faulty part requiring replacement was not in Coastlines estimate. The left axle and driveshaft were fine…the right front upper control arm was worn out and needed replacement…which shop #2 did. They also charged me for a wheel alignment (a necessary task to protect my high end 35” Toyo tires and stop the squealing noise) and my truck was back to normal early the following day. Total cost, $641.69 which was roughly 1/5th the cost the dealership wanted. But more disturbing is the fact that, had I authorized Coastline’s recommended repairs, my truck would still be unrepaired! I’d be out 3 grand and the truck would be having the same exact problem!!! OMG! Now was this incompetence? An attempted fraud? A bit of both?? I’ll never know and it doesn’t matter. I do know that this experience cost Coastline my trust and all future business. In the photos you will see the control arm (held by mechanic #2) that was replaced, their estimate and final invoice. Notice that the final invoice matches the estimate exactly (as shown on review sites that allow pics). See yelp & Google reviews. When this Dodge dealership was operating under the name Courtesy, I wrote them a 5 star review but Coastline is not anywhere near the same ballpark. It’s back to the dismal and disappointing tragedy it was before Courtesy took over. It’s sad. I am giving Coastline 10 days to refund me the diagnostic fee because it was proven to be pure xxxxxx xxxxxxxxx. If they do not issue a refund, I will provide my charge card issuer the docs shown in the photos along with a chargeback request as Coastline’s estimate was completely wrong and failed to identify the actual problem…rendering it worthless. I’ll be watching my account Sarah! 10 days. There is no way the bank won’t side with me on a chargeback under these well documented circumstances. I have now driven my truck enough to confirm it is completely back to normal. Thank God I got a second opinion and didn’t trust Coastline’s faulty repair estimate.

DID MY HOMEWORK BEFORE SPEAKING WITH ANYONE FROM THE DEALER. WORKED MY DEAL ON LINE THEN SPOKE WITH TATIANA TO GET THE DEALERSHIP TO HONOR THE OFFER. SINCE I'M NOT THE EASY PERSON TO DEAL WITH WHEN IT COMES TO PURCHASING VEHICLES I LIKE TO PRESENT MY OFFER AND GET A SIMPLY YES OR NO BACK. TATIANA WAS VERY PROFESSIONAL IN PRESENTING MY OFFER TO RICK AND CLOSING THE DEAL. SHE STAYED IN TOUCH WITH ME EVERYDAY UNTIL I MADE MY MIND UP TO BUY. IT'S SIMPLE I SEE IT, IF I LIKE IT, I WILL BUY IT. THIS WAS THE ONLY DEALERSHIP IN Southern California THAT HAD THIS PARTICULAR TRUCK ON THEIR LOT. THE 2020 RAM LONGHORN WITH THE BEIGE INTERIOR. LOVING MY TRUCK. THUMBS UP TO TATIANA GREAT PERSON ALL AROUND.
Worst dealership experience of my life.
BEWARE: Very misleading dealership. The type of car salesmen you see on TV and in the movies. They wasted 5 hours of my time leading me to believe the car was $300 a month, I filled out all the paperwork and at the end they told me it was we $600. The manager gave me a half hearted apology and said sorry for the misunderstanding after I had spent 5 hours there. I feel extremely misled and upset that I spent so much time there just to be lied to. I wish I could give a 0 or a negative score because it was hands down the worst customer service I have ever seen in my entire life.
Bought a new Jeep from Coastline had the best buying experience. Demetrius helped me find the car I wanted and the options I was looking for. Great sales rep to work with. The financing process was seem less They gave me a great price as well. Will be back again!
Worst sales experience EVER
Hands down the worst sales experience I have or probably will ever have. I went to the dealership during all this covid to buy a new truck. We agreed on a deal and I told them my payoff was 37000. After being there for almost 2 hours they are finally printing paperwork. As I am loading my stuff from my car to my new truck the salesman comes out and says we made a change. Apparently my payoff is $213 more than what I said. They then tell me they have to raise my monthly payment. At that point I thought they would just eat the $213 and make the deal especially since I've been there almost 2 hours waiting. But they don't the person in charge NOT the sales people who were great says basically he's not gonna take the $213 hit. I sat there for 2 hrs with a deal that worked then in the last 5 min they try to change it over $213 what a joke. I go down to the dealership with a deal made then pulled out from under me over $213. I honestly thought this would be corrected by now. Waste of 2 hrs of my Saturday.
Pick another dealer
Expect dishonesty, New management is abysmal. There goal is to get the vehicle into service what the do after is a mystery. Multiple trips to perform recall work. Expect them to take 15 mile test drives in your vehicle.
This car is a scam
This 2019 Jeep Grand Cherokee for $27,845 with 5,051 miles?? is a really odd sale. it’s looks like a great deal and great price! But it’s been on the sale list for a while. And it’s at the dealship. We saw it! . Hummmm??... well Listen . my husband and I tried to by it last week and they gave us a really hard time and the runaround like crazy. Michael was our first sales guy the first day we went. he was off when we went back the next day and Tatiana was our next sales person. She made up every excuse not to sell us the car then!!... started adding new Charges. Michael sap possibly gave her instructions to sell it to us. But her and the finance guy still gave us a hard time. We ended up walking out after catching on to what they were doing. They didn’t even try to stop us to explain and try to sell us the car. They were all very quiet as we walked out. Very odd situation. I think these low priced car are scams to get the people into the dealership then try to jack up the price by adding extended warrantees and what not. Plus they are driving the car it don’t have 5000 plus miles on it anymore it has over 6500 miles on it now. Just a real scary place to go to and buy a car. Do not recommend this dealership at all!!
We went in to look at used Pacificas. The sales people were very nice, affable and charming. The sales manager...eh... Just remember, if he says he's going to offer you a "killer deal" that means the advertised price. I guess the only thing "killer" about the deal was that he "killed" the deal.
