My wife just purchased a used honda minivan and I would like to provide our experience. The staff was friendly and helpful through the process, but you are required to sign multiple documents making it clear to you, and protecting them, regarding the fact 'that the vehicle used, they have no responsibility for any issues with vehicles, and one really, truly, was that if the vehicle broke in half, you own both halves. While I understand their need to protect themselves, and make it clear to the customer that its used and may have issues, I think the extent to which they went was overkill. Secondly, this is a no-haggle dealership, at least for their used cars. Understand clearly that this means they will not take ANYTHING into consideration on the price. This includes the fact that they will not perform any repairs on the vehicle, no matter how small or egregious the issue: the price is the price is the price. So you can expect that you may pay more than you would at a dealership where haggling was expected. Thirdly, but tying into the second point, I don't think they do any triage on these vehicles: if they do, it does not lead to even the most basic remediation. (Note that we were purchasing in their low end, what they called bargin basement vehicles). Case in point, the vehicle my wife purchased had shreded windsheild wipers: you would normally expect them to at least replace wiper blades! Fourthly, Always, Always, ALWAYS, take these vehicles to your own trusted mechanic. If you do not do so, you have no idea what youre getting into! We took ours to our trusted mechanic, Dynotune, before the purchase and they found several things I missed, including 2 broken motor mounts. This should be an obvious problem for an experienced mechanic - refer back to point 3. We did ask these to be repaired prior to purchase - refer back to point 2. Finally, if you have performed step 4, and clearly understand step 3, and are willing to pay the extra 10%-20% by the time you get necessary repairs completed, by all means go ahead and purchase. They make their position clear, and as previously mentioned, they're nice, and pleasant to work with. I just always recommend you go in with your eyes open.

Good Day Ben, Thank you for the response. As mentioned, the staff was very helpful and personable. My only concerns were regarding the fact that the wholesale vehicles did not appear to receive triage prior to pricing, making it appear price-setting was a from-the-hip, ' Im sure everything is fine on the vehicle' affair. And after specific issues discovered by our mechanic were brought to Honda's attention, price negotiation was still refused. The vehicle was priced somewhat beyond the very high end of a KBB assessment for that vehicle - which is reasonable for a non-haggle dealership - its only the additional repairs that really put it well into the over-priced range. That being said - We went into the sale with our eyes open and no one forced us to buy the vehicle. Excluding the known repair issues, the vehicle thus far (about 3 weeks in) has been a good vehicle and my wife is enjoying it. My husband and I bought a Honda with the help of Tommy and will have to say that young man went above and beyond to make this a fun, wonderful experience. It was just only Tommy but really the whole dealership was awesome. Everyone went out of their way to make sure we were getting the help needed. I am happy to say that I am still excited with the car my husband bought me and I will make sure I tell anyone I know looking for a car to head to this dealer and ask for Tommy!

I had just purchased a used Subaru and came to pick it up...
I had just purchased a used Subaru and came to pick it up two days later. When I got to the car, I couldn't get inside it because it wouldn't unlock with the key fob. I went inside the Serra Honda service area to seek assistance. It was raining outside and one of the Honda Service techs was able to get into the car to bring it to me. We discovered the key fob battery had died. So Chris Rogers took the time to take the key fob apart and replace the battery for me. He made sure the car started and that I was able to get on my way. Thanks to him for his assistance! This was a busy time in the morning for people to drop off vehicles for service and it was raining outside. I appreciate the great customer service!!!

Sent my vehicle for a fuel pump recall. About two weeks after the recall, the vehicle fuel system broke down when I was in a trip 40 miles from town in the night. The breakdown completely ruined my trip and I waited for the tow truck until 3 am. It later turned out it was caused by the dealer’s carelessness when they replaced the fuel pump. The o-ring was not correctly installed and broke apart after some time. I appreciate the fact that they eventually fixed the issue and redid the recall and explained to me what happened. But I do hope the dealer will take this seriously and try their best to make sure such incidents will not happen again. I feel lucky because the vehicle didn’t break down on an interstate; if that was the case, I would be unsure I am still alive today.

Cars.com has always one or two cars from this dealer and always with a wrong price,. They do it just to waste your time, without even apologizing for wrongdoing

Had Apt and sales rep ignored us for walk ins
Took the time to setup appt and get off work to test drive a new honda. Sales rep did not have cars picked out to test drive and when he did pick one and we got back from drive he ignored us for some walk ins. Clearly Honda did not want our business.

Ken Moerdyk is amazing to work with. I cannot be more grateful! With Covid-19, our car is left in Champaign while we are in Seattle. The keys were lost due dorm room move-out. Ken extended the service to tow the vehicle, performed the needed fuel service, and dup the keys for us. He also offered to keep the car at the lot till our return to campus. This service is really go above and beyond!

I just got my THIRD Honda Fit from this dealership. I have dealt with them since the 90’s and have nothing but high praise for them. I’ve dealt with Christian Wallace with my last 2 purchases and am super happy with his knowledge and helpfulness. I love the Fit! Great mileage and I can put tons of stuff in the back- including my dog!
