Sunroof on my 2015 Tesla Model S was sticking, so I stopped by the Tesla dealer and Cheyenne the service attendant came out to see the issue. She brought... me back inside and looked it up on the computer and the warranty had ran out the week prior but she told me this isn't an issue and they will extend it and fix my issue at no cost since it was so close. I was told it would be completed by Wednesday 10/9. I had not heard from them by 10/14 so I tried to call to see what was happening but the service phone always went to voicemail. Since I had a loaner vehicle I wasn't in any rush so I patiently waited. On Thursday 10/17 I received a text from them that the work is complete but the car needed to be detailed and it would be ready for pick up on Friday. Friday evening I went to pick up the vehicle and the service attendant told me the bill was over $3200 and there was more work than they had thought so they couldn't grant the warranty extension like we had agreed. I asked to speak to the manager because that was unacceptable to me to do that much work unauthorized and without a phone call. The manager apologized and stated they did more work than they initially thought and the attendant doesn't really have the authority to extend the warranty anyway. He apologized again and came back with a bill for $784.55 saying that's the best he can do on the price and I had to pay it to get my car back.
Mike a Tesla ranger came to my office in Albany. Very pleasant. Did the job and I was very pleased. Mike called me to let me know when he would arrive.... No hassle. Took my keys, fixed the car and he was on his way.
