Terrible experience! I made appointment to have state inspection. They did an inspection than told me my state sticker was expiring soon?? But everything... else looked good. They couldn't tell me the difference in inspections but they did another state inspection and found I needed new rear brakes, they said I barely passed but gave me a sticker. I took my car to another auto shop and they agreed I needed rear brakes but the cost to fix was $150 less than Subaru. Subaru charged me an outrageous amount to have my wipers changed. AND since I bought the car there the inspection should have been free but charged me for that also. Don't go there!
This was my original review, which I wish to modify: 1-started cleaning out my old car before I made any decisions 2-5 sales men in room tag teaming one... buyer? 3-not many discounts given 4-vehicle service contract not disclosed 5-attempted to get refunds for vsc and gap and nothing every is followed through on New Manager reached out to me, explained that all previous issues have been addressed and those practices (and people) are no longer in place. He ultimately helped me achieve my goal of F&I product refund. I am hopeful that updating and bettering my review encourages more people to at least go there and look/compare. Just be careful and question everything. (that advice is for any car dealer on the planet, certainly not limited to this one).
I recently purchased a car from John Howard Subaru. Sam Simpson was a huge help in making the process quick, easy, and enjoyable. The next time I need... to purchase a car, I will definitely be going to Sam for help.
I took my car in to get a new rim, an alignment, a state inspection, and to check my hood latch because it wasn't latching right. They called me and said... I needed the sway bars fixed before the inspection so I agreed. Then they called and said there was nothing wrong with my hood but that my trunk and gas tank weren't latching. I told them that the trunk is fine you just needed to make sure the trunk button on the inside of the car wasn't pulled up because that's how you open the trunk. They called back and told me it was going to be 60$ more to "diagnose" my trunk not latching. I walked in pushed the button down and shut the trunk. I picked up on the car holding only the trunk, so clearly it was latched. The guy said "the gas tank won't latch either" so I walked around the other side and shut the gas tank and he said "oh that's news to me". After that, they still charged me the fee and didn't give me the inspection sticker because the guy in the shop argued that the trunk still didn't latch. Reminder that I had just picked up on the car with the trunk. After that, the customer service lady questioned whether I knew what it was like to work for no money. I am an RN and have done hundreds of community service hours. She then said "I was going to take the inspection off the price but since you got mad I'm not." Very disrespectful and unprofessional. Please never ever take your vehicle here.
Receipt said they put 6 quarts in and obviously my car was way over full. I checked. Brought it back for oil consumption test in 1200 miles it had use... a quart. They said it hadn't used any oil because it was full at 5 quarts.
Was told they could get me in a car, caused me to wait almost a week to finally call and say they couldn't find anything. They was more worried about... selling me a new one then a used one! They show vehicles on their lot that they don't even have, make no point to even call to tell you that said vehicle you wanted to look at wasn't even there. I didn't find this out till I drove to their lot and after 30 minutes was told we don't have that vehicle. After that they didn't even want to entertain putting me in another used vehicle they wanted to sell me a new car something I was not interested!
Everyone was very pleasant and nice. Offered me a shuttle to be able to run an errand. Also offered food items from their complimentary menu. My only downside... was that the service took longer than expected.
Went I for an oil change Nd new brakes. Service was quick and easy. The wait I was serviced with cake and coffe. Very good.
service dept. has done a great job satisfying this customer. Check is very easy and quick. Treated very well and enjoy extra services while waiting. The... great tasting snacks and beverages are very helpful in which is often a very stressful situation. Techs check my Outback and made repairs as needed. Thank you for the great job.
We have been treated so well by John Howard Subaru both in sales and service. Fred was our tech this time and kept us updated as were so busy took longer... Very nice. They even washed our car! Great!
