Hands down my experience with Alfa Romeo in Chadds Ford was the worst experience I’ve ever had dealing with a car dealership. I was pretty much settled... on buying an Alfa Romeo Stelvio that they had on their lot. I planned to go into the dealership the next day, Saturday, and was almost certain I would buy the car. I told Jamie, the manager that I was planning to come in the following day. Unfortunately, I had some personal issues come up that day and because the dealership was over an hour from my house I wasn’t able to make it. I received a phone call from the manager Jamie late in the day who almost sounded like he was scolding me because I didn’t come in when I said I would. He apparently didn’t like that I didn’t show up. What followed was a very unpleasant and unprofessional conversation. I’m tempering my words here so they don’t find a way to get this review removed. It suffices to say that the exchange was so unprofessional that I hunted down the ownership of the dealership to complain to this guys boss. As the owner of a business myself, I always want to know if one of my employees is not courteous, rude or unprofessional in anyway to any customer. The ownership of Alfa Romeo in Chadds Ford is Piazza Management. I spoke to Jamie’s boss, Dave, at Piazza who was very courteous and nice, but he just didn’t seem to be very concerned about unprofessional behavior by one of their managers. When I pressed for a response, he ultimately made an excuse for Jamie’s behavior and offered a “qualified” apology. I’m not giving all of the details, but this is a basic representation of what happened. Bottom line is I’ve owned and run a business for 20 years and I gave Piazza an opportunity to make things right. Because I know sometimes people just have a bad day, but this seems to be a pervasive attitude throughout the piazza organization at least from my experience. This is enough for me to say that I could not ever recommend dealing with any Piazza dealership for any car.
Lets just say that Ed went above and beyond to make our deal happen. We had spend the whole week dealing with various Maserati dealers and this dealership... understood the circumstances and became creative to make this deal close. I will definitely refer any one who is looking for a Maserati to this dealership, don't waste your time with the others come to the one that is personable and sincere and makes a deal happen. Again Thanks Ed and your General Manager.
Bunch of scammers all the way up to management. Watch when you’re signing financial agreements they will sneak in an extra month on your payment would... not ever recommend.
Went in for a pre-owned car. General Manager (Jamie) intervened and became heavily involved. Superficially polite but dismissive and condescending. He... tried to preempt a third-party inspection of the car by insisting that it had been looked over thoroughly and needed no work. The car turned out to have a host of problems adding up to a repair estimate worth thousands. He showed me items from the car’s maintenance history to give the impression of good care. I found out independently that several major repairs had been omitted. He completely blew off all my concerns, harping on the car’s great cosmetic condition. The paint had visible swirl marks and there was clear evidence of body work. He insisted that he knew what he had with that car, and why it was special. His comments showed that he knew little about it other than that it was a fairly clean one-owner car in a desirable color. They eventually came down just enough on price, but then showed us suspiciously high monthly payment amounts with no itemization. When they finally showed me the real numbers, the payment amounts had magically decreased but the interest rate was still more than double what we had been offered by our own banks. They insisted that we had to accept, falsely claiming that financing through them had been a condition of their offer. Luckily they backed off and we closed. Then, after we took the car home, I discovered that even more major repairs had been omitted from the service history they showed me. Then we found out it had taken them weeks to file the paperwork for the registration and title transfer, something that normally takes days for a competent dealership. They tried to defend themselves by saying they had 90 days to submit it; the real number is 20. Overall the experience was something I’d fully expect from used car lot shysters. I do not expect it from the representatives of any reputable brand, let alone Maserati and Alfa Romeo.
Horrible service ever! Person with no integrity, We put deposit on a used car and the next day he sells the car to another person
I was looking for a new lease and Jamie the GM reached out to me and was so responsive. Not only did they bring the car to me (1 1/2 hours away...thank... you Pat) for the test drive, they brought the paperwork as well so I wouldn't have to take the trip back to the dealership. It took hours to sign and drive my last lease! The customer service was superb and I appreciate how flexible and patient Eddie Somers was with my late night texts about the features of the car. Thank you Jamie and Eddie for being so caring, having such integrity through out this process and also for your professionalism!
I have taken my '15 Alfa Romeo 4C in for service and could not have been happier with the work done by AJ. Additionally, Eddie was very helpful in arranging... the service. A few months later, both Eddie and Jamie went above and beyond in efforts to work a deal for me on a new Giulia Ti and Stelvio Sport. I have been to other Alfa dealers that are closer to where I live in NJ, but none of them are as good as Alfa/Maserati of Wilmington Pike. I go out of my way to this dealer and it is worth my effort!
Great experience dealing with Tonya and Jamie. They were very knowledgeable and very fair when negotiating the agreement. I would recommend this dealership... to friends and family.
I am 63 years old and came to the dealership to buy a Maserati Gran Tourismo. I shopped for this car over the internet, arrived at a great price over... the phone, and drove all the way from Florida to purchase my new dream car. Simply stated, this was the best car buying experience I have ever had! John gave me the best price of any dealer I talked to, Trevor expertly handled all of the out of state sales paperwork, and Tonya was great - demonstrated every aspect of the vehicle to me and answered all my questions. The car was ready when I arrived, and Tonya was busy cleaning the wheels to perfection. Just before I left, Tonya was once again making sure the car looked perfect. This dealership has my highest possible recommendation - great people. Thanks!
