I stopped by Tiger Honda to look for a used Honda for my granddaughter. I saw one I really liked. The salesman came out and greeted me . A nice young... man. I asked the price of the car and he said wasn't sure but he would check. I asked for the car fax report as well and he went to get both. When he returned I asked about the price. He quoted me $20,000. I told him I wasn't interested if the price was above that and he assured me that was the price. We went inside and he took my info. I called my son to bring my granddaughters car just in case we might trade it. When the paperwork came back the price had suddenly jumped to 22K. The price on the trade was also very low at 3K. I got up to leave, more than a little irritated. He asked that I give him one more chance. I waited and here comes the sales manager as well. I explained that I was told 20 K outside and the price ad jumped to 22K. We spoke for a moment and I offered to pay him 21K if he would give 4 K for the trade. He asked me to sign or initial a piece of paper with the offer. I was talking to my son and the salesman at the time. He left and came back with another counter offer of 4 for the trade and a price of $22, 450. I said my offer was 21 and he said well you offered 22K . He had written 22K as my offer and NOT 21K as I had said. My son heard the original offer. This reminded me of Pawn Stars where a guy is asking $500 for his item. Rick says Ok $450 and sticks out his hand. The seller is shakes it before he realizes Rick just undercut the price by $50. Rick usually gets the item and they laugh it off. That may be fun on Pawn Stars but it isn't in reality. I was a very serious buyer paying cash. And they wonder why the bad rap on used car salesmen. Doug
Test drove an SUV on Monday. AC didn't work. Sales Rep (Tyler) stated that they would "check it out". Picked up the car Thursday night and the AC didn't... work. Took the SUV to the Kia dealer (Not Tiger Honda) the next morning and they found it had a dead compressor. Fantastic. Luckily, the vehicle was under warranty and Kia is fixing the issue. Tiger failed to inspect the vehicle, or inspected it and failed to notice the AC compressor wasn't working? Pick one, since either is extremely likely. Tiger made multiple assurances that this "would get taken care of". Tiger Honda's version of "taking care of it" amounts to the customer that JUST BOUGHT a $20k SUV to take it to the shop and spend their own time fixing things, without a vehicle, that Tiger should have fixed or at least made the customer aware of prior to purchase. Tiger has offered zero compensation for my vehicle being in the shop the Friday after I bought it, Saturday morning driving it back out to Tiger Honda to get an inspection sticker put on, and again, another day parked at Kia, having the compressor installed. That's the Tiger Honda "customer experience". They have no idea how to do service. xxxx, tires for my SUV cost $60 ea and did the dealer offer a pair for the trouble? No. Did the dealer offer anything for the trouble? Nothing except words and the attitude that I should be happy that it's under warranty. *sigh* So, take this review for what it is. In my case, after the check cleared, Tiger Honda could not give 2 entire xxxxs and guess what Tiger Honda... It shows. Curtis on the finance team and I spent 5-10 mins discussing doing things right the first time, ironically, during the signing of the paperwork. Apparently, Curtis is the only person working there with that attitude. Senior management (Adam in Sales and Patrick in Service) has repeated the patter about "getting it taken care of", yet I'm the one doing all of the work, no offer of anything for my time. So you'll get no help escalating to their "management" team. Go elsewhere. At least then, there's a chance you will be dealing with people that do their jobs, put actions behind words and likely don't tell you the compressor was inspected and "worked fine", when it's blown and requires replacement on a car in Louisiana, as if AC isn't going to come up. lol xxxx, you could steal a car and you'll have a better car experience.
Don’t be fooled by the fancy new building. This place is run like a junky used car dealership. Incredibly disappointed with the slimy sales tactics used... here. I called Tiger Honda multiple times confirming the price of a Civic Hatchback. The sales rep didn’t want to, but I got him to email me the price and a link to the car, so I had it in writing. I got to the dealer after an hour drive and confirmed the price with another salesperson. After test driving and going through an hour of paperwork, they told me they made a mistake on the price and wanted to charge $2,000 more. The price was confirmed by multiple people but was only found at the very end of the process? Yeah, I bet. Do not trust this scummy dealership.
I just purchased a used truck and everyone from the sales manager on down bent over backwards to make sure I was happy with my purchase. I am very pleased... with the truck, the price and the perks. If you want to know about the perks call Tiger Honda. I recommend them to anyone.
Thank you for your kind remarks and review. Tiger Honda of Gonzales works very hard to be the very best we can.
Devin sold my husband a used car for our daughter. The before the sale service was okay, but when we picked up the car we noticed the tank wasn’t full... like we had been promised it would be. We texted with Devin and sent him a picture of the gas gauge. He called and apologized and said for us to drop by when we had the chance and he would make things right. The following week I texted and asked him when I could stop by for the fill-up. He texted back and said he had given the fill-up at delivery of the car and added an emoji of an eye roll. I texted back and reminded him of the conversation with my husband a week prior. I called him trying to get this straight and he yelled at me and told me that I received the gas. I will never recommend this dealership!
