I was initially apprehensive about dealing with selling my car to an online store. I started the process and was amazed at how easy it was! What a great service you have. I invested very little time but the reward was great! Thank you!

Let's see.

Let's see. After Vroom misadvertising the vehicle I purchased, claiming it had certain options then learning it didn't was a pretty lousy feeling. They did compensate me for that screw up of theirs, which I appreciated. The vehicle I purchased was a 2015 Mazda Miata (low mileage). I took the vehicle for inspection today but it failed because the tires are all dry rotted. I was told the date in the tires is 2014 which means, the tires are the original tires from when the car was new. Vroom sold me a car with 7 year old, dry rotted tires. I was told the tires are separating/splitting. So, it seems pretty clear, Vroom screwed me over in more ways than one. Good thing the tire(s) didn't disintegrate or rupture when I was driving causing me to crash. Nonetheless, I've had the car a year and now have to buy 4 brand new tires due to Vroom selling me a car with 4 dry rotted tires on it. If you have any intentions of buying a car from this questionable organization, I suggest you do your homework and make them justify everything they allege in their advertisements. When I previously researched them (after the first time I caught them), I found they lied to their investors and were taken to court because of their less than ethical ways of doing business. BE CAREFUL!!!

The issues at hand aren't challenges. Extremely inconvenient....YES! Not to mention the fact that, the options listed for my vehicle, that the car didn't have was a total cost of about $1300.00. Necessary options such as Bluetooth as in Virginia, its illegal to use a cell phone while driving so, I had to purchase a head unit and additional interfaces so the head unit would work, as well as, $175.00 for installation. Now, I took my car for inspection today and thought I had nothing to worry about. Until I received a call from the shop and was told, the car won't pass inspection because two of the tires are dry rotted. I told the guy, "I just purchased the vehicle a year ago." He then advised "You bought a car with 7 year old, dry rotted tires". Two are preventing the vehicle from passing inspection and the other two are borderline, not passing. The date on the tires are 2014! Clearly, Vroom never inspected the tires. They dont suddenly dry rot in a year. So, I paid $20.00 for an inspection only for the vehicle to fail and I have to shell out hundreds of dollars for new tires within a couple of days so I can take the car BACK to the shop (and take more time off work) so, it can be reinspected to pass inspection. You need to be reported to the Attorney General's Office and the Department of Consumer Affairs for ripping people off and selling cars that are literally unsafe to drive. This arent mistakes. Its either intentional "Screw it, nobody will know and we can get away with it" or Vroom intentionally cuts corners to safe money and at the same time, places your customers in position where yhey could get killed if theyre driving on a highway and a tire ruptures. By the way, I purchased the vehicle almost exactly a year ago with 11,300 miles on it. As of today, I have 12,400 on it (give or take a few miles.) Last Sunday 6/19, I actually did take the car on the highway and was traveling 75mph in a 70mph zone. What if one of the tires ruptured and I ended up in a wheelchair for the rest of my life or in a casket 6 feet under for eternity due to Vroom's unethical business practices? Or is it just stupidity? Tell me how you plan to fix this (yet another) issue in an expeditious manner?

Waiting 6 days and no contract for me to sign.

Waiting 6 days and no contract for me to sign. Have called MULTIPLE times and all they say is that they have created a “task” for my sales agent, who’s extension does not work and he does not call me back. They keep on asking me to upload the same form 10 times, I’m like, I ALREADY HAVE! Knock knock! What’s with this company? It’s almost comical at this point. Each agent tries to sympathize with me and promise to call me the next day, never happens! I think it’s a call center in Mexico or someplace, which doesn’t mean anything to me but just do your job. I’m here to buy a car, am approved for financing, have money for the down payment, so where is this contract that I was supposed to get within 24 hours? Almost 50 hours later and crickets! Called 3 times today and same old story, the so and so department is closed for the day so tomorrow, yep, here we go again, rolling on to day 7! Really! This needs to be a SNL gig at this point. I’ve never heard of a company create so many tasks and not follow through. A completely incompetent group of people! The left hand doesn’t know what the right hand is doing, extensions their sales agent give out and have in their emails signatures don’t even work, complete lack of follow up, WOW! I’m giving them one more day, if I don’t get this contract, I’m disputing my $249 deposit they took and getting my money back. This company is a headache and a nuisance. Oh, did anyone else notice the black BMW they show in their TV ad towards the end, has a hood that is all scratched up! Lol Their reviews online are deplorable!

Just called back 06/28/22 at 2:38 PM and the rep did not give his name and said he was going to transfer me to my rep and said she was on the line, when he did transfer me, it was her voice mail. Look vroom, this is not my first time buying a vehicle, lets just cut to the chase, do you want to sell me a car or not? If not, just let me know and I’ll go to Carmax or some other dealership and walk out with a car. But at this point it’s getting ridiculous, all this going back-and-forth, uploading repetitive documents, which I’ve sent you more times than I can count, it’s getting ridiculous. I’ve bought more than 30 cars in my lifetime and I can tell you without a shadow of a doubt that this is the first time I’ve had such a challenging time trying to purchase a vehicle.

Consumer response

Update as of 6/29/22- Received a call yesterday, 6/28/22 around 4:30 PM and was told I’d get a call back in 30 minutes, no call back. Received another call this morning, 6/29/22 and was told he’d call me back in 15 minutes, no call back. Called and left two messages for my sales agent 6/29/22, and sent an email the same day, no response! Let’s see, it’s still noon, I’m hoping for a miracle at this point!

If you buy from Vroom what you are getting is a

If you buy from Vroom what you are getting is a mechanically faulty car, loss of money, fear in mind. Their 90 day extended warrenty is a joke and scam. I was on a vacation with my family and suddenly temp gauge of car started spiking to red and loud noise started coming from engine bay. I took it to Firestone (luckily it happened in front of it). They diagnosed that the radiator fans both are gone. I tried calling Vroom customer care but was not able to connect as it was a public holiday. I got the car repaired and it costed me $1K. Next day I send mail to Vroom customer support with invoice and diag details as I was sold the car promising 90 days extended warranty; now the drama starts. Vrrom customer support told it is not vroom that covers this but 'SafeGuard' and gave me another customer care number!. Ok fine, I called 'safegauard' and raised a case. After sitting on my ticket for 3 weeks they closed that saying this is an EXISTING ISSUE of my car and cannot be covered! Does that mean that Vroom sold me a car with mechanical issue that they are already aware? If this is the case then all mechanical problems can be said as 'already existing issues'. Now I dont know what all these kindof 'Existing Mechanical Issue' my car got! When you are out of the state with two kids including an infant will you fix the car and get going thinking that the cost will be covered as per their extended warranty? They should cover genuine customers rather than trying to scam and milk money out of them. Othewise one day people will realize their tricks and keep away from them. I trusted Vroom and thought I was getting a good deal, but this is what they gave me in return. Please be very careful doing business with them. God bless them.

I would give this people a 0 stars review, DO NOT BUY

I would give this people a 0 stars review, DO NOT BUY FROM THEM!!! I purchased a car in March 12th, 2022 and as of June 22nd I DON'T HAVE A PLATE. I am absolutely tired of calling and sending emails, all they do is open a new inquiry every time I call....frustrating. I still don't have an answer for any of my 3 inquiries (the number of times they opened a new one for the same issue), they told me it appears as if the plate was mailed but I never received it, so nothing to do there, just complain and complain until someone has the decency of taking charge. Worst place ever, worse customer service, sales department and title department ever.
