LITERALLY THE WORST PLACE TO BUY A CAR!! After being given the run around at another dealership I went to Smart Buy. I was interested in a Volkswagen Beetle.... Russell the manager told me it was a great car everything worked and the only reason they had it for sale was because the prior owner wanted a truck. I was in a hurry because the loan company was about to close and so I purchased the vehicle. The next morning after driving the car a little bit and looking around, i found out that the car was completely out of oil, the Radio kept shorting out, the heater stopped working and a/c didn't work, the sunroof opened but wouldn't shut and several other issues.. I contacted Russell and he told me to take it to Radiator King and they would look at the car. My car sat there for over 24hrs and nobody had even looked at it. I called Russell again and said at this point I would rather have my money back because of the fact that I was lied to about specific things on the car. Russell told me that he wasn't going to give me my money back or help with any repairs on the car
This place is the best dealership i have been to they gave me a fair number on my trade and didnt try to pressure sell me on anything. i have bought a... few cars in my days and they all play games with me i love to see a dealership that is just straight forward and honest
I have been looking for a Ram with lower miles and after many disappointments I was fairly certain I was going to have to buy a new one. My friend referred... me to Russell and Roy. I am glad I saw you guys hands down your lot is really clean and you had my vehicle. Thanks so much.
I bought a 2006 Ford and they were awesome. I worked with Roy and he new exactly what bank to send me to for the best rate. I was at another dealership... and they tried giving me high rate. Thanks you guys rock
I bought a Ford Ranger from Rusell and the experience was great. Great interest rate within fifteen minutes of submitting the application that was better... than what my own credit union was offering and spent a total of 45 minutes there and was driving away in my new vehicle.
My experience with Roy was less than stellar. Not only was he rude, but his shop and office look like a place you’d never want to send a friend to.... Read the reviews, Roy is combative. It’s crazy how Roy thinks picking fights with customers on google reviews or cars.com reviews is a good way to promote his business. Customer Service 101 says the customer is always right. Most of his responses are longer than the complaints. A lot of Roys inventory comes from Canada, his trucks have a lot of hidden rust. Beware of smart buy auto, clearly there are better places to buy.
I have gone over my records and I haven't had anyone named John come in here for over a month. I don't even advertise on Cars.com Yet I see...m to get people putting comments here. My number is 208-343-2112 please give me a call I would love to open a dialogue regarding your experience.
I was very interested in a truck and wanted to have my mechanic take a look at it. The owner Roy wouldn't let me take it to my mechanic because they... had "words." I have used this mechanic for 17 years and he is highly ethical and fairly priced. I would not buy a vehicle he hasn't looked over, which leads me to believe Roy is trying to hide things. Roy just lost himself a sale.
Not totally accurate. I have had some issues with the mechanic that you wanted to take it to. Since you didn't name the mechanic in your post I... can't state what the reasons are. I am in the process of litigation with them and would be happy to let you take it to Edmark Toyota, Peterson Toyota, Big O, Les Schwab, Radiator king, Dietz Automotive. ETC... I would even be happy to show you the inspection I had performed on it as well. Since you feel so strongly about posting a negative review because I don't want my vehicle to that specific mechanic please feel free to come by and I will pay for one of the above listed mechanics to inspect it.
I met with Russell (Owner’s Son) to look at a truck. I told him I was interested but needed to show it my wife, the owner, Roy then stepped in and... said go ahead and keep it overnight. I was grateful and asked what time could I bring it back, they said they open at 10am. I said either way I’ll be here at 10am. Next day, I called Russell at 9am to confirm they would be there. He told me he was at an auction and wouldn’t make until noon. I told him this was a deviation from our original conversation and that I wouldn’t be there until after noon due to meetings at work. He then handed the phone to Roy. Roy told me he can’t make it until noon and hung up. He texted me 2 mins later and told me to be there at 10am. I arrived at 9:50am and Roy showed up and 10am. He did a quick inspection of the vehicle and went inside to get my key to my car that I left overnight. His departing words to me were, “Hey, if you happen to see any other cars here on the lot that you are interested in….please don’t come back.” Roy’s request was honestly puzzling. This is not something I’ve actually ever been told before. I’m very confident that I was not difficult to work. Clearly his expectations of me as a buyer were not met. It’s safe to say that I will comply with Roy’s request and share this with my peers.
That wasn't exactly how it happened but I'll be glad to share my side of events. First you asked if you could take it overnight I was hesita...nt but I agreed. I'm definitely not your typical place as I don't really know anyone that would let it go out overnight and you stated you would have it back by noon. The next day you called asking if someone could be at the lot for you at 10. I took your call and it was on my sons cell phone and the call dropped. I then thought you would call back but no call came. I immediately left the auction had my son text me your number and text you that I would be there by 10 and it was like you said within 2 minutes. When I got to my office at 10 the vehicle was visibly dirty and empty of gas. You were on your cell phone and holding a laptop and wouldn't even take enough time to discuss the vehicle with me. WOW Thanks for coming by and driving the vehicle and keeping it overnight. I'm sorry you didn't have the common decency of shaking my hand and providing me any feedback at all. Because of that I simply asked you not to come back and I did mean it. I wouldn't ever dream of treating anyone the way you treated me. I wish you the best in all your business dealings in the future. Thanks
