Went in trying to just make a reasonable deal happen and

Went in trying to just make a reasonable deal happen and instead had to hear the used car manager whine about how much they're "already losing on the car." Pulled out some trumped up invoice showing how much they paid for it in an attempt to appear transparent and honest. It's just tiresome having to go through the same thing every time I buy a car. .I will be amazed if, someday car dealers figure out a way to negotiate without lying. It's truly remarkable that deception is accepted as normal in that business. We ended up getting a fair deal, but the dog and pony show left a sour taste. It could have been so much cleaner and I could be writing a nice review right now.

Timely, friendly and competent help on a Saturday afternoon. Problem got identified and fixed. My dog, who was with me when my car brokendown, was welcome in the guest lounge.

Broken Cat converter after 5 years.

Broken Cat converter after 5 years. Hard to swallow. No evidence of the issue was presented. Pictures? Video?

Mr. Hepp, We appreciate you taking the time to leave us a review. I completely understand that having to replace an expensive part can be hard to digest. It is never easy for any of us. However, I do feel the need to be transparent in your review. During your visit on Nov 15th, you stated that your manifold was leaking and it needed repair for Virginia State Inspection, which we would assume meant you had the evidence needed. My apologies for that assumption. Anytime a guest needs to see something we are always more than happy to show them, but they do have to ask. I love the idea of pictures and video, and you will be happy to know that we are rolling out a new function in January that does just that. We are currently in the process of setting it up and verifying the functionality of the program. Once that is complete we will begin training the Technicians and the Advisors to ensure a smooth and easy transition when we begin using it. Thank you for responding. One point of clarification. I experienced no exhaust smell or exhaust noise to indicate a leak. So I was caught off guard that there would be any reason that the forester would fail inspection. I am also working with Subaru of America to ease the financial burden of this repair. A 2017 Subaru should not have a converter/manifold failure.

Scheduled an appointment but service dept was not ready

Scheduled an appointment but service dept was not ready or attentive. Twice asked me for information I had provided at check-in. Bottom line, I had to wait 3-1/2 hours to replace a battery and pay for it despite a class-action suit filed for this service issue.

Took my car in for new tires and recall repair.

Took my car in for new tires and recall repair. Immediately after picking up the car it drives with vibration not present before and the average mpg went from 25 to 18. I drive a very regular and predictable highway commute. Brought the car back to have the tires and work checked- was told needs new brakes suddenly- was never mentioned in the previous inspection and the brakes were not old. They didn’t have the right ones in stock so took the car to another dealer. Plus I had lost faith in their work by then. Pretty sure the brakes or something was damaged during the tire replacement because this was such a drastic change in MPG from right before to right after they put on new tires. I would not trust this service center for any work. We now drive to Richmond for our Subaru service.
