He... understood what I was looking for, as well as budget limitations. I am an 81 year old widower, seeking to replace a leased Honda CRV which was acquired three years ago for my late wife. We were paying $300 per month... for that lease, and I let it be known to all Napleton staff that I wanted to keep my new lease payments to around $350 per month. I also indicated that I would be willing to put $1000 down on a new lease. As you can see from my evaluation, my reaction to this transaction was mixed, so I thought I would give a more complete explanation: First, the positive: 1. The assistant salesman, Dalton Puller, was focused and helpful. He listened to me when I itemized my preferences; and attempted to respond with the product offerings he had available. Further, he was attentive to my reactions (positive and negative) to the Optima I was allowed to drive, which prompted him to show me the Cadenza since it had all of the features (and many more) I said were important. 2. The Cadenza seems to be a fine vehicle. It definitely falls in the “luxury” category, and will likely serve me well for the rest of my life. Then, the negative: 1. After driving the Cadenza and studying the price list, I immediately advised the salesman, David Lashbrook, that there was no way I was going to spend that much money; and that there was no way to get that car into a lease with my set parameters. Nonetheless, he wanted to give it a try. 2. Next on the scene was Sean McKane, the GM of Carmel Napleton. He and David kept after me to put down more money and extend the amount I was willing to pay per month. It was definitely high pressure, and very much unappreciated. 3. After several trips back and forth to the sales office and its computers (the time was now after 5:30 PM on a Friday evening), they convinced me to pay $2500 down and acquire a $415 per month 36 month lease. 4. Over the course of the afternoon, I mentioned to both Dalton and David that I had to have 12,000 miles per year since I only have one vehicle. Unannounced to me, the proposed lease was for 10,000 miles per year – definitely unacceptable and definitely impacting the lease payment. 5. I went in to the office of the financial manager with the understanding that I was going to sign a 36 month lease for a Kia Cadenza at $415 per month with $2500 down payment and 12,000 miles per year usage allowance. As we were signing the lease documents, I was advised that I only had 10,000 usage miles. If I wanted 12,000, the monthly payment would be $429 per month. I should have walked away, but I did not. 6. Then I was informed that I needed a platinum maintenance agreement – cost $29 per month. I was NOT advised that this was not required. If I had had the time to read the documents I was signing, I could have discovered this. Now my monthly payment is $458 per month – a mere $108 more per month than I originally pronounced, and with $1500 more down payment. My experience at Napleton of Carmel was overall not very pleasant. I feel like the victim of a slick “bait and switch” operation. If anyone asks me to recommend a Kia dealer, it will definitely not be Napleton of Carmel.

I went in and bought an Optima SX Turbo. First new car purchase in quite a few years. My salesman Ernest Clark did a fantastic job at getting me the right... car. Xavier Cortez in financing make the paperwork very easy and they treated me like family on top of giving me a great deal! Thanks also to Brian Webb for his help as well.
