Dropped my Kia off on Feb 21st to be looked at on the 22nd. Told Jason that the car runs great and computer is great..no problem with the car. Only wanted... him to check the little squeaky noise that seems to come from the seat belt rubbing against the leather seats. It wasn't anything major but just wanted it gone. I also wanted to know if the back up camera was supposed to beep when close to objects. That's all we needed. We just had the car about two weeks and was very pleased with it and nothing major was wrong with it. Jason told us it would be a quick and first thing 8am in the morning he would look at it and will give us a call to pick it up. No calls and with us repeatedly calling service on the status of the car being told we'll call when the car is ready and there's nothing wrong with the computer. "Again we never said anything was wrong with the computer". The price for the multipoint inspection kept changing he quoted 3 different prices. The third price change was because it was out of warranty and that was over $100.00. This was the first time dealing with KIA of Manhattan and only took the car there because it was a KIA dealer and thought it would be safe. Many calls later no one called us to come get the car. We drove to service found the car sitting out front unlocked where we left it the night before. Jason met me by the door and called me inside. Telling me things he did to the car ...putting weights on the seats ,stuffing towels between the seats removing the console etc. He also said his manager told him if it it doesn't have a beep he can't make the camera beep. The text message I did receive and still have stated that he said he got it to beep. He also said there was a ECU recall on the car that he performed. He told me because he wasn't able to do anything he's only going to charge me $65.32..which was 59.95 plus tax. The original amount on the phone when setting up the appointment was $69.99. After paying he told me he'll walk me out to the car. He opened the car door stooped down pointing to the seats and how he had to remove them etc. I was totally distracted although I had the key the car never lit up when I came near it and it was unlocked. It's almost 6pm when we got the car. Got home in garage the car would not turn off. The car kept displaying a message of shift to park and key not detected whenever you try to leave the car. At this point my son is in the car not knowing what's wrong with it. I then told him I will check the body of the car to see if there's any exterior damage and found none. We had to disconnect the battery in order to shut the car off and was unable to lock it. The next day we called KoM and spoke to the sales manager who was very helpful. He told us service was closed. He said he didn't know what was going on with the car but did see it there all day. He also said we could drop the car off and he would park it up for us so service can work on it on the 25th (monday). My son needed a way to get to work and he took care it. Shane did more than anyone at KoM. Monday the 25th again we were the ones trying to get in touch with them about the status of the car. Upset that we weren't told something was wrong with the car on Friday. This was expressed to Jason and was told we want the car back the way it was when we brought it to him. Who then got mad and slam the phone down. Still no updates on the car just telling us will let us know when to pick it up. Hrs later another service manager called and said they took the shifter apart and cleaned gook out. We now have a broken shifter, a dent above the passenger door on the roof of the car (saw the dent the 25th) loud noise driving, unable to drive it, no help from KIA consumer affairs or headquarters. Spoke with GM Jamie 4-25 who said she's suprised it wasn't fix yet....would check cameras to see what happened they would show everything and will call us on the 26th..May 1st and not returning my calls.
Ask for Joe! He will take care of you and help you get the best deal possible! Everyone there was awesome and very helpful! This was the best car buying... experience I have had!
I went in looking for a car in X price range. The sales person (no longer there and it's been less than a month) showed me a few. None had prices on them.... Later, hours later, I found out they were all 1/3 more than I wanted (X + .66X). I actually felt bad for the sales person and ended up buying the car, stupid on my part, yes. They didn't want to tell me the price or the interest rates and I had to literally stand up and leave before they called me back to discuss that. They only wanted to tell me the monthly payments and then not even how many months I would be paying for. I did end up getting the car and when it was delivered (because it wasn't ready right away), the first time I got in the warning light was on. One sales person said the one who sold it to me had discussed this with him prior to delivery and so he thought I knew. She said it hadn't been on. As it turned out, it was a faulty tire gauge, the say, and they would repair it. Got it back Saturday after the salesperson said it had been repaired. Later found out that repairs weren't even open on Saturday and, you got it, it hadn't been repaired. Fast forward 2 weeks to when I got the car. Yes, two weeks. Anyway, finally got the paperwork so I could register the car. The title hadn't been transferred to the dealership properly so I had to pay out-of-state registration fees. Also, the title was ripped up so we had to do more work for that. And the dealership hadn't filled everything out on it properly, even their dealer number was wrong. I had to pay additional fees. I contacted the dealership and only after making public reviews did they contact me. Even then, only publicly. I had to add to my reviews that they were posting publicly but not getting to me privately so it was also deceitful on their part. Then I finally got a call back. She said provide the paperwork about my extra fees. I called back to find out how to do that because I was given no email address or other contact method and I don't want to drive 60 miles round trip just to drop off papers. Anyway, now here it is a day plus later and she hasn't returned my call yet again. When I try to call, all I get is a busy signal. I don't even know if they're still open. Absolutely the worst car buying experience of more than 30 years of car buying. I literally cannot say enough bad things about this dealership. I don't recommend them to anyone and would strongly encourage other people with to share their experiences so this company has to do something to change. They've only been open a couple months and it doesn't look like they'll be able to continue if this is their way of doing business.
Promises, promises, never came thru. / Called, Text, and emailed several times he does NOT have the guts to return them. Go elsewhere, OR be sorry.
