    I was mailed a letter about the worth of my car which was only two years old with 20,000 miles so I thought OK I am going to look to get a brand new Volkswagen... . They tried to offer me thousands less than the letter said. After waiting for hours on end I was told that the deal could happen and they quoted me a price . The next day I get a phone call from the finance person with completely different numbers and when I asked questions there were no answers it was a bully type approach like come get your car this is what we can do . I never received a call from the original people that I dealt with . The next day I went to another Volkswagen dealership and got the deal that this place promised me and I am now in my brand new car . Unfortunately when I first bought at this dealership it was Crowley now that it is gengras it is completely awful . I work for a major healthcare provider in Connecticut and I will make sure to tell everyone not to do business with this dealership !

    This is the first time I've written a review about a company regarding their service. I've decided to do this because of exceptional level of help and... service I received at Gengras Volkswagen in Plainville CT from sales manages Tom Backer and salesman Brian Radicki. Both Tom and Brian were professional in every sense of the word. They tool the time to listen and understand my needs and the type of car I wanted. They were extremely patient and helpful. They went FAR above the norm in every war to find a car they worked for me and fit my needs. I am happy to recommend Tom, Brian and Gengras Volkswagen. You will find its a place wherfe you really do matter E

    Let me start with this: I did not go into this VW before it was overtaken by the Gengras brand, so I cannot compare it to what it once was. However, what... I can say is I walked in one day, thinking about buying a new vehicle, and the next week I had the Atlas of my dreams, all thanks to Tom, the GM, and Dom, the sales person. My girlfriend and I went in to get a bigger car as our family had grown, and the Atlas - with its safety ratings, gas mileage, size, and style - was 1 of 2 choices for us (the 2nd being a Telluride, but the service at our local Hyundai was TERRIBLE, and it turned out to be too small). We walked in on a Saturday hoping to test drive one and size it out for our dogs (when I said family, did you think I meant kids?). They were very short staffed - only 2 salespersons were on that day, when they usually have 4 or 5, but due to the recent buyout some of the people had left to other Crowley locations. We were assigned Dom, who was helping another customer, and we said it was fine and would wait. Tom, the GM, said no way and had us sit down and he went over everything about the Atlas - ratings, size, reviews, pricing, and options/packages. When Dom was ready for us, the Atlas we were to test drive was ready to be taken out on the road for both of us to drive around town and on the highway. It was love at first handle and honestly, thanks to our experience at this VW, we are never driving a different brand and will be buying my girlfriend her own VW next winter. I can agree that there are several pictures of the new owners around the building - but you know what? That's called branding, and if they are happy with how their smiles look, posters of themselves do not hurt customers and they show that they put their image on any action that occurs in the store, which is honestly comforting if you are worried about customer service. When you do go in - which you should - talk to the people helping you out just as much as they do with you. We learned that Tom and his wife are avid wild mushroom hunters (really cool stories!) and Dom is hilarious with "dad jokes" and puns for everything. As someone who has purchased a vehicle from this locations, I have not received one email in the last month from them so I do not know of any spam emails. But I also have gmail - and it sorts out spam for me - so maybe it's in there and I just use technology to the best of its abilities.

    I believe this dealership took over Crowley VW's operations and they've somehow gotten my email address for a car I purchased 7 years ago. They keep sending... me a barrage of spam emails trying to entice me for service on a vehicle that I don't even own. I've tried contacting their GM Tom Backer who's promised to remove me, but I still receive them. If they can't remove me from their spam list, I wouldn't trust them for a transaction as large as a vehicle purchase...

    This used to be a real asset to the community, but since Mr. C sold it the new owners have yanked the rug from under the place. New owners have banners... of themselves every 15 feet, making the place look like North Korea with the Supreme Leaders being glorified. I came in to buy a car for my graduating child and the new manager was insisted that I take a car that we weren't interested in. I don't trust a person who wears dark glasses inside (this new manager), I should have not wasted my time. The old GM and the best salespeople were shown to the door and the rest of the store seems to wonder how long they will be around. Ken...I'm not happy!!!
