Not trustworthy!
Not trustworthy! Went to the dealership with an appointment, and the salesman had called in sick. Set up with a very nice young man who is doing an internship with the dealership. The advertised price of the car was not the price we were offered. $28k vs $31k due to non-negotiable add-ons such as a $999 Apex GPS anti-theft system, and “windshield protection plan”. Note that Apex GPS is also owned by Ben Keating, the owner of Keating Auto Group, and San Marcos Toyota. The trade-in offer for our vehicle was approximately 25% below Black Book data. $15k vs $19.2k. This will be my last interaction with any Keating Auto Group dealership.

I had a great experience buying a new car!
I had a great experience buying a new car! I was incredibly stressed out when I realized that I needed to enter the car buying arena again after 10 years. I was able to send information via email to Roger Salmeron to request the best out the door price and he rose to the challenge. He then introduced me to Willie back in the finance room who worked with me to get the things I wanted for my new cars warranty. If you need a new vehicle I would suggest getting to San Marcos Toyota and asking for Roger!

No doubt this is the worst dealership that Toyota has, I
No doubt this is the worst dealership that Toyota has, I purchased with them 2023 Toyota Sienna Last year. The made me buy some non sense protection packages for windshield, GPS and Paint as part of the deal as mandatory. On top of it they marked up the price of the car by $3000. In total, they were asking $8K more then the MSRP (label price). We agreed for this as we badly needed a family car and it Toyota Sienna was and still in demand. However, after signing the contract we realized that they did not include the protection plan in the base price and charged us again for the protection plans on the purchase agreement even though they were already included in the base price. When I went back to them after realizing, they did not accept that protection plans were included in the base price and refuse to provide me breakdown of prices. They were not only unprofessional but rude in talking to the customers, they made pay double for their good for nothing protection plans and declined any help. I will never go back to dealership again and strongly advise anyone going there to look into the details and pay for what you want, be very careful before signing anything as they are capable of cheating you and make you pay more if you dont pay attention while signing. I talked to Bill Ferguson as well, he never accepted the mistake from finance department and did not offer any help. Extremely disappointed with the experience, and will never take my business here.

It was a busy day at the service department but all the employees were friendly and welcoming. I was greeted by a nice lady manager, Nicole. She introduced me to Jose and they made sure I was taken care of the whole time I was there. They even fixed my tire under warranty. Thanks San Marcos Toyota!

Went in to purchase a used vehicle.
Went in to purchase a used vehicle. Tested on but radio didn't work. We agreed upon a price. We took the initial paperwork to the bank but bank put it on hold because the dealership had to fix the radio. It wasn't working. They promised to fix it before driving off the lot. We explained to dealership that the bank wouldn't approve til everything was to our agreement of functioning. The salesperson told us to lie to the bank and say that they fixed it because they would fix it. I'm not going to do that!!! If they weren't able to fix it we would've been on the hook for the loan or cancel the loan and have to redo our application with the bank. DJ the salesperson got very pushy about us wanting to wait til the van was fixed. He told my husband "what you don't trust us?" Ummm no ... You're a salesperson I just met. Long story short he apologized thru text about "coming off rude" and we told him we were not going to purchase the vehicle. Thanks no thanks. I don't want to be rushed into a decision that is going to affect my credit. Won't be returning. Found a cheaper vehicle with almost the same amount of miles.

Prices are about the same everywhere, but these people at San Marcos dealership are on another level of shameful. Read all the reviews and most of them are regarding how they waste your time. It's true!! They think you have all day to be played with and manipulated. They have no respect for you, your time or the process. Do yourself a favor and go anywhere else.

Obed - We are disappointed to hear you did not have a good experience when negotiating your vehicle purchase with our dealership. We have shared your candid feedback with our management team.
Made an appointment to look at a vehicle.
Made an appointment to look at a vehicle. Juan assured me the vehicle was available, no bait and switch, no deposit to hold the vehicle, and an appointment was needed to look at the vehicle. My husband drove 2.5 hours and when he arrived 2 hours early, Juan was selling the vehicle to customers that walked in 20 minutes earlier. When I called him to find out what happened, he just kept repeating that anyone could walk in, and appointments weren't necessary cause they don't hold vehicles. Asked for the sales manager Mr. Tondre, no response back after Juan gave him my information and I left a voicemail message. Did get a call from "Paco" to sell me a brand new vehicle for "only" 4K-6K more but "the payments would be the same if we extend the loan out to 72 months."

Desiray - Too many times customers have not shown up for appointments, changed their mind once seeing / test driving a vehicle in person, decided they wanted a different vehicle, or even tried to negotiate pricing on a vehicle they had put a deposit on and agreed to purchase. Therefore, we do not hold vehicles with appointments or deposits as it would not be appropriate to tell a customer they cannot purchase a vehicle because a different customer potentially wants to purchase the same vehicle. We've tried it both ways and have come to the conclusion the best business practice is not to hold vehicles a customer has never seen, test driven, or committed to purchase.
