Would not recommend...seriously, there's a pattern

Online inquiry. They contacted me almost obnoxiously about the vehicle I was interested in. I responded back when I wasn't busy at work and got a message back with a pic of a seemingly different car and asking if I was trading. Not addressing my question to their previous message. When I finally Iresponded back to them I got nothing so I called and someone picked up and was talking to someone else then hung up on me...they tried to call me back 10 minutes later. I couldn't respond to that call...im at work..So, I didn't get my questions answered and got the wrong car pitched to me. It's a little haphazard there yo say the least. Eager for business but terrible at details.

Do your research on the vehicle you wish to buy

If you think you're going to be hopping into a nice car or better yet your dream car from here, turn around, turn off your GPS, get back on the internet and keep searching because this place is not it. If you do decide to get a vehicle from here make sure you get some type of warranty and bring a mechanic YOU TRUST look at the car with you TOP TO BOTTOM. For years I searched for my dream car, a 2005 Subaru Impreza WRX STi, and manifested the day I would be a proud owner of one. I was injured as a Roadside Assistant helping a customer years ago getting out of my truck on the highway. After several years of waiting, I got my payout and one of my missions was to obtain my dream car in the best possible condition and for a reasonable price. After months/years of looking around, I decided on the WRB Blob Eye that Sterling was offering. I called and even had a video chat with the owner who showed me the car underneath. I was so blindsided by my excitement I didn't realize he was quickly moving the phone and didn't have him really show me important components of the engine in a slower fashion. Maybe it's because I am young (27) but I thought I could trust this place being a dealership and seeing their reviews. I hope people see this review and really read it before purchasing a car from here. I spent almost $25,000 on my car, valued at a little over $9000 they oversold the car to me for $14,000 claiming it had "quality" aftermarket parts in it that made it valued more, claimed it was built and tuned. I took the car to my local Subaru specialists and have spent almost $5,000 in maintenance work alone, arcing ignition coils causing a misfire, broken timing covers, a broken electric cooling fan that almost hit the engine on my way home from VA to RI, a broken turbo inlet, a cracked cam gear found while doing the timing belt and retiming the engine, the timing of the car was so off the engine was ready to give out aka some piston and valve action. The owner told me after purchasing the car that they had checked the timing and to have it done in 30,000 miles. Imagine if I did?!? The cheesy aftermarket parts put together on this car were done with no logic at all and they called it a "built car", all of the check engine lights were shut off and disabled so I now get to have a field day getting it through my state's inspection. I also still have to spend more money on a re-tune after all the work that needed to be done. The “air intake” on the car was a filter with couplers. The only quality part of this car was the front mount intercooler which was not worth an additional $14,000. Even the exhaust on the car after being put on a lift showed several scrapes and dents. I am thoroughly disappointed with myself for getting my hopes up to not be screwed over by a dealership and I am also very disappointed with this dealership knowing how much I wanted as well as many others wanted this car and had no problem selling it to me or anyone else overpriced with all the issues it has. Whether they knew the condition of all these things or not is truly unknown to me. However if you’re a dealership and you’re going to advertise a car to be built and make someone pay a lot of money over the value of a car at least be genuine, provide paperwork put the money in to have a vehicle properly checked over. I feel like these people just picked the car up from auction did an oil change and posted it. Such disappointment. I also reached out to other customers of Sterling that had left great reviews to check in with them and a person who had a similar experience as I was also lied to and deceived now facing severe issues. What boggles me is they seemed to have the facility and means to make this car worth what it was sold to me for and chose not to which does not sit right with me.

A lot full of defective vehicles

Test drove a low mileage truck from this place that seemed like a good deal on paper. Glad I did my due diligence in testing all the features and doing a thorough test drive because the truck had glaring problems. The vehicle had a replaced aftermarket stereo headunit that was NOT in the pictures online (also it did not function). The rear parking sensors did not work and it had floor mats that did not fit the vehicle and slipped on the pedals. It had clear touch up paint repair that was done before vehicle was put on the lot. Overall thrown together lipstick to mask issues on the truck. It seems this place buys defective vehicles at wholesale and attempts to cover up defects and known issues with quick short term fixes. The rest of the reviews seem to reflect this. I'd recommend avoiding this place or having any vehicle you buy inspected at offsite mechanic first. In the end you get what you pay for so don't let lower prices fool you

RIP OFFS

Don’t believe anything about their sale prices. Be sure to read all fine prints as they will add on money to your contract without explaining anything to you and then when you figure out that you have been lied to, they will just tell you that you should have read all the fine print about their charges. I was over charged $1,105.00 by the salesman and no one is honest enough to do the right thing. DON’T BUY FROM THEM.

William, Yasser, and Ronnie are awesome!

I cannot express enough how awesome the team at Sterling Motorsport is! Every person I spoke to and interacted with during the purchase of my vehicle was friendly, honest, and understanding. I came to them with very poor credit, and little understanding of my options, and they talked me through everything without making me feel embarrassed about the state of my credit. Yasser in finance was very patient with me and took the time to explain the different financing processes. William in sales worked diligently to get me the best possible loan available, even after I had agreed to a higher loan with one company, he worked hard and surprised me the day I showed up to sign the papers with a better loan from a different company. I say this to show how he, and all his associates, went above and beyond without me asking to make sure I had the best experience and terms possible. William was also very upfront and honest about where the used car I bought came from and what it was missing (particularly a hex key) and was an absolute pleasure to do business with, never once did I feel pressured during the buying processes, and we actually had a lot of laughs together. I also want to give a shout out to Ronnie who made the signing processes on the day of as smooth as possible, and was just generally a nice gentleman to talk to. I would 100% do business with them again, and would/will recommend them to any family and friends in the future. Thank you guys for all your hard work but most of all for your straightforwardness and kindness! :)

Excellent service!

I had no issues with trading in my gas guzzler v8 sedan for a newer car that suited the amount of driving I do. They gave me a fair trade in value for car and I was in and out within and hour. Thanks to Yasser for the help!

Definitely recommend!

I bought my Mercedes 2 months ago and I couldn’t be more in love with it. If you need a car this is the place to go! Everyone here is so nice and humble, they’ll work with you and make sure you are getting the best deal unlike other dealerships who try to rip you off. I’ve never experienced such great service. Thank you Yasser for everything. I’m one happy girl!

Avoid at ALL Cost!!!

We are out of state buyers who tried to purchase a truck from Sterling Motorsport and were willing to fly from Texas to their location in Virginia to do so. Their customer service is BEYOND subpar. Downright non-existent, in fact. They rarely answered their phones and getting a return phone call was nothing short of a miracle. When they would communicate with us, they seemed disorganized and uninformed. When my husband asked for current pictures of the truck from that day on the lot, he realized that the high end tires pictured on their webiste had been removed and replaced with botton of the line tires instead. The sales personnel even tried denying this, but eventually conceded and admitted that they had made the change. Upon our last interaction with them several days ago, my husband again asked for the salesman that he had previously been speaking with to call us back, which NEVER happened. We decided to walk away from the entire situation as neither of us had any confidence in their ability, professionalism, or integrity. Deal with this business at your own risk!
